A large part of housecat vocalisation toward humans isn’t goal-directed communication, but rather, affiliative signaling: a simple call-and-response protocol which establishes that the participants are part of the same social unit. Amongst themselves, most housecat affiliative signaling is non-vocal, but humans aren’t really physiologically equipped to respond to such signalling in a feline fashion, and cats, well, they’re adaptable.
Which is to say that when your cat yells, and you yell back, so the cat yells again, and so forth, what you’re really saying to each other is “hiiiiii~”.

3 transphobic arguments to be aware of (so you don't go down the alt right pipeline)

Easily one of the most important videos I've seen since the election.

A group of Wikipedia editors have formed WikiProject AI Cleanup, “a collaboration to combat the increasing problem of unsourced, poorly-written AI-generated content on Wikipedia.” The group’s goal is to protect one of the world’s largest repositories of information from the same kind of misleading AI-generated information that has plagued Google search results, books sold on Amazon, and academic journals. “A few of us had noticed the prevalence of unnatural writing that showed clear signs of being AI-generated, and we managed to replicate similar ‘styles’ using ChatGPT,” Ilyas Lebleu, a founding member of WikiProject AI Cleanup, told me in an email. “Discovering some common AI catchphrases allowed us to quickly spot some of the most egregious examples of generated articles, which we quickly wanted to formalize into an organized project to compile our findings and techniques.”

Like I said before, being injured in Gaza is now synonymous with being killed.
On top of that, having a chronic illness or a disability can also be a death sentence now in Gaza. The healthcare system has collapsed, and some hospitals don't even have bandages left, let alone the fact that Israel tightened its siege that not even pain medications are allowed in and patients are not allowed to leave the strip for treatment.
I recall a report by the Gaza ministry of health from back in August where it stated that the number of deaths "by natural causes" had increased 6 times than it was before October 7 2023.
I think of mothers like @noor-yashour whose son, Muhammad, suffered from hypoxia at birth and needs treatments as a result. These treatments have been interrupted by the genocide and have now stopped altogether.
She has made multiple appeals to help get her son the treatment he needs but with the ongoing suffocating siege, she now needs to be able to provide adequate nutrition and clothing for him for the immediate term.
Here's her campaign if you'd like to help her out by donating/sharing. They're barely at 11% from the goal.

Those "Is a gyro a sandwitch? Well what about a tortellini?" conversations always get annoying because people don't know how to keep them going. Casual taxonomical pedantry is fun and righteous, but only if people know how to play. "Is an onion a sandwich? What about a glass of water?" Obviously not. Be serious.
Lemme tell you how to upgrade your game:
"What is the least-sandwich sandwich? What defines the outermost realm of sandwitchdom?"
"What analytical razors can we use to separate sandwiches from non-sandwiches?"
"What food is most like a sandwich while not being a sandwich?"
"What is the most sandwitch sandwitch?"
"What was the first sandwich? What does the ur-sandwitch tell us about the nature of sandwitchdom?"
"Can you process a sandwich until it is no longer a sandwich? At what point does it lose its sandwich-ness?"
"When does a non-sandwich become a sandwich? i.e. When do the ingredients become a sandwich?"
"What is the simplest possible sandwich?"
"What is the most complex possible sandwich? Is there an upper limit on sandwich complexity?"

I told my students they're allowed to be creative and don't have to be factual when writing about themselves in German because I keep getting questions like "what if I don't have roommates or what if I don't have hobbies" and I'm like guys just make something up! Have fun! I won't fact check you!
So now I am grading homework where a student is claiming to be from North Korea and his hobby is tax fraud

The Académie Française, which is the body that supposedly defines the french language, has come out with new definitions of what is a man and what is a woman. No one really follows their lead but still, they're an official body and they do have some weight. Their new definition is as follow. Man = human of either sex. Woman = human defined by its sexual characteristics that allow to conceive and birth children.
there you fucking go. transmisogyny in a nutshell. under this system trans mascs can multi-track drift into both male and female categories, and trans women are not permitted to exist anywhere at all.
