Ashfur, villainized for loving far to much. Sure, He only 'threatened' to end 3 kids lives because he felt betrayed. But lets be honest, he wouldn't have gone through with it- he's a beta. Meanwhile, Mapleshade, Who killed several cats and 'cursed' crookedstars over her love stricken rage is Glorified? This fandom is so biased, lol.

glorifying a character =/= liking a character

The fandom dislikes Ashfur because he got off scott-free and his motives weren’t that reasonable. He didn’t JUST try to kill 3 kittens. He also tried to kill Firestar, abused his apprentice, treated EVERYONE like shit, etc. Over a relationship that lasts for like…almost half of one book? lmao. Yeah, it’s unfair that he was lead on but i mean…really? The fact that his aggression is barely justified makes it hard for us, as readers, to sympathize him. 

The fandom likes Mapleshade because:

She’s one of the few villains that isn’t branching off of Tigerstar’s or his sons’ direct plots.

Mapleshade went through a lot of shit within the span of one day.

Her mate at the time was cheating on her.

She was exiled over an assumption that happened to be accurate.

All three of her children died at once via drowning.

Her ex-mate gave 0 fucks that they died.

She wasn’t given any help from the clans and was sent off to go and die by herself pm

She was in such a state of distress that she became delusional and hallucinated her children as ghosts, imagining that they were restless spirits and couldn’t pass on until she killed those who wronged her.

She did horrible things and faced consequences for it. Despite the tragedy she faced, she still got punished for her wrong-doings.

She was not painted as a victim. The Erins didn’t write off her history as an excuse and try to make us sympathize her. She was thrown into the Dark Forest and continued to act as a villain. No other characters sympathized her or said that what she did was okay/justified.

We like her because she’s a villain and continued to be one. We don’t like Ashfur because he was a villain and became victimized.

Hollyleaf: Because I want to stop him spreading my family's dark secret and ruining all our lives.

Breezepelt: I'm gonna kill Poppyfrost.

Breezepelt: Because I just want to kill someone

Breezepelt: Or maybe I want to frame Jayfeather for it, because I'm mad at him for existing
