Radio 1 Request Show: Dan & Phil Style
Okay, I'll start off by saying fair play to Jameela Jamil. She played Jedward TWICE for us on the Radio 1 Request Show. Young Love and Luminous were both played on her show. However, she's no longer in charge and Dan and Phil have taken over.
BBC Radio 1, Every Sunday at 7pm
The show is on right after the Official Music Charts so we reckon a lot of people listen but Dan & Phil are doing it differently.
Phil told us: "We don't want to be exiled by people for playing Jedward if someone requests it, but don't worry we have found a quite creative way to decide if we play Jedward and Bieber songs.. 'FAN BATTLES'. A superfan representing each artist compete live on air and only the winner gets their song played! It's going to be pretty funny."
Fan Battles lol... They don't know Jedward fans well do they? We could take Bieber fans down. We can do this!!!
Now, I doubt that they would cater for Jedward fans every week. People would tire of it. They may even be full of it and deny us a listen of Jedward every time we try but it's always worth a go.
They also want people to create videos for songs so they can show it on a LIVE stream so that people can watch the show as well as listen. The main website for the show says it can be anything you want but I don't know what the copyright situation would be. If you did a video of Jedward clips for example, I don't know if they would allow it. I can't see why not but it's worth emailing the BBC to find out.

What is the best song from Young Love?
I asked you to pick your fave song from Young Love. Unfortunately Survey Monkey, I found out, only lets you have 100 responses without paying so I understand 100 people is only a small amount of the fandom.
Anyway, here are the results with the TOP 3 in Blue. Of course the winner was LUMINOUS. It was very close though.
Never Better was in the leads at first, then it stayed 2nd place until What's Your Number AND Cool Heroes beat it over last minute.
There was only one vote between #2 and #3 and only 3 votes between #1 and #2.
Waterline only got one vote and I'm surprised A Girl Like You didn't do as well as I thought.
Would the results be different if I did the poll again using another Poll site so more people could vote?

REVEALED: The Jury and Public Results Split
Today, we finally learned how the votes for The Eurovision Song Contest were split. The EBU announced the points each country was given from the Jury and the Public televote - these were published on the official Eurovision website.
First, a recap of last year
When John and Edward performed "Lipstick" in Dusseldorf for the 2011 contest it was the Jury that preferred the duo to the public. The jury gave "Lipstick" 119 points where the Public gave it 101 points (okay, it wasn't much difference).
So what about this year?
As we know, the twins and their song "Waterline" finished the contest in 19th place after receiving 46 points from the Public and Jury combined but it wasn't known if the twins had gained more favour with the Public, or like last year... the Jury.
Turns out it was.... the public
Clicking here will lead you to the full list of scores but it's a bit of a mess so I singled out Ireland's votes here:
Basically, if you look at the table showing the Grand Final results... If, like 5 years ago it was only down to the public to decide then "Waterline" would have finished in 10th Place in the competition.
The Jury however, didn't like it at all. If only their votes counted then the boys would have finished 25th out of 26 acts. Only the UK's Englebert Humperdinck received less points from the jury.
Here's some other interesting stuff the results revealed:
As expected, the Jury didn't like Russia as much as the public did. However, they did get way more points from them than Ireland did. Personally, I think this proves just how bad Jury taste was.
Lithuania, Iceland and Norway were the only countries the Jury and Public agreed on.
Cyprus and Greece had two very similar songs with two very similar acts and performances. The Jury preferred Ivi Adamou where the public preferred Eleftheria.
The Jury and Public also agreed on the last placings in both Semi Finals where Slovakia and Austria finished.
France did apalling in the televote. No one voted for Anggun. Nil Points.
* I'd like to point out to you that in the list that I linked earlier, Ireland are down as being in 20th place. This is not true, they finished 19th. Iceland tied with them with 46pts but as Ireland received points from more countries, they placed higher. In that list they've put them in alphabetical order.

UNITED KINGDOM Chart Regulations
With YOUNG LOVE becoming available in the UNITED KINGDOM from midnight tonight (18th June), I thought it be best to make it clear what has to be done in order for Single sales to count. This is what I found...
To qualify for inclusion in the UK singles chart, a single must meet the following criteria:
It must be available on one or more eligible formats. Eligible formats are CD, DVD, vinyl, cassette, digital download, MiniDisc and flexi disc. [In this case, Digital Download]
All formats must contain the featured track or a version/remix of it. [No problem as only Young Love is available as the download]
Only three formats may be included in a single's sales; sales in additional formats are disregarded when calculating a single's chart position. The single must meet the minimum dealer price requirement (as of 2012, 40p for a digital audio track) [So basically, you can buy the single 3 times at most from each website]
The following is an excerpt from the PDF linked at the bottom:
Each format must have no more than four different tracks, although each song may appear in any number of different versions. [Again, no probs as only one track is available]
The following link will take you to a PDF with the rules of the UK Singles chart: Official Chart Company
In the UK there are 5 sites that count towards the singles charts:
iTunes
Amazon
Play
Tesco
7digital
Gifting
iTunes and 7digital allow gift buys. This means that you can buy the song for other people. If you buy the maximum three for yourself, all these will count towards the chart but the purchases you buy for other people you know will all count.
You can buy for you friend, Mum, Dad, Sister, Brother and even your teacher or boss lol. These will count towards the chart too.
We need this to sell well in the United Kingdom
Under Pressure made it to #2 on downloads alone and I'm sure we can do it again... Buy out everywhere.

Jedward Young Love QR Code for Posters
Okay so if you plan on doing any fan parades, flashmobs or any other promo things you'll no doubt be making posters too.
If you do then please stick this on there... Most smart phones have downloadable apps to scan this and when they do they will get the You Tube video of Young Love to watch. RESULT
You can copy and past the above picture onto your poster before printing it off. I made it pink as it goes with the colour scheme of the single.
However, if you want the colour to suit a different colour scheme you can make one using this website

EUROVISION 2012: The Results
Okay guys, Eurovision 2012 is over and it's Sweden's Loreen that emerged victorious after beating 41 other countries in Baku, Azerbaijan.
On a Jedward level it wasn't their most successful but the guys did AMAZINGLY well by getting points from new countries that didn't vote last year.
Here are the results (Jury and Public combined) that have been announced regarding the Semi Finals and the Grand Final. There are some shocks and some serious dissapointments:
Semi Final 1
1. Russia – 152 points 2. Albania – 146 points 3. Romania – 120 points 4. Greece – 116 points 5. Moldova – 100 points 6. Ireland – 92 points 7. Cyprus – 91 points 8. Iceland – 75 points 9. Denmark – 63 points 10. Hungary – 52 points 11. Swtizerland – 45 points 12. Finland – 41 points 13. Israel – 33 points 14. San Marino – 31 points 15. Montenegro – 20 points 16. Latvia – 17 points 17. Belgium – 16 points 18. Austria – 8 points
What's interesting here is that Ireland fared better in this Semi than Lipstick did in their semi last year. They also beat Iceland who started off as one of the ESC favourites to win.
Disappointingly, Austria's the Trackshittaz came last after receiving only 8 points. That's 12 points less than Montenegro and 23 points less than San Marino, both of who were disliked by Eurovision Fans and punters.
Semi Final 2
1. Sweden – 181 points 2. Serbia – 159 points 3. Lithuania – 104 points 4. Estonia – 100 points 5. Turkey – 80 points 6. Bosnia & Herzegovina -77 points 7. Malta – 70 points 8. Ukraine – 64 points 9. FYR Macedonia – 53 points 10. Norway – 45 points 11. Bulgaria – 45 points 12. Croatia – 42 points 13. Portugal – 39 points 14. Georgia – 36 points 15. Netherlands – 35 points 16. Belarus – 35 points 17. Slovenia – 31 points 18. Slovakia – 22 points
There was a tie for the 10th place in Semi Final 2... Norway and Bulgaria both received 45 points meaning a tie breaker was needed. In cases like this, the country that received votes from more countries will go through, this meant Tooji won the right to go through.
Slovakia's Max Jason Mai came last in this Semi Final, rock doesn't tend to go down well in Eurovision, just like Rap music, both of which are very popular in today's music industry.
A country by country breakdown of these results are still to be released as well as the Jury/Televote breakdown. We will keep you updated.
Grand Final
1. Sweden - 372 points 2. Russia - 259 points 3. Serbia - 214 points 4. Azerbaijan - 150 points 5. Albania - 146 points 6. Estonia - 120 points 7. Turkey - 112 points 8. Germany - 110 points 9. Italy - 101 points 10. Spain - 97 points 12. Romania - 71 points 13. FYR Macedonia - 71 points 14. Lithuania - 70 points 15. Ukraine - 65 points 16. Cyprus - 65 points 17. Greece - 64 points 18. Bosnia & Herzegovina - 55 points 19. Ireland - 46 points 20. Iceland - 46 points 21. Malta - 41 points 22. France - 21 points 23. Denmark - 21 points 24. Hungary - 19 points 25. UK - 12 points 26. Norway - 7 points
The Big 5 had a successful year this year wth 3 (Germany, Italy & Spain) finishing in the Top 10. However, after Blue's success last year, the United Kingdom found itself back into the bottom five with Englebert Humperdinck finishing 25th out of 26. Only Norway stopped it coming last.
Iceland's finishing position was one of the shocks of the night only coming 20th, tieing with Ireland who, because they received votes from more countries, got the higher position.
Jedward in ESC 2012
Waterline may not have done as good as Lipstick did last year but the twins did receive votes from more countries that we wouldn't have believed. We have found the country by country breakdown of what points were awarded to Ireland in the Semi Final and Grand Final:
Semi Final
This is the most interesting set of results we ever saw... The following countries awarded points to Ireland in Semi One:
Austria - 8pts Azerbaijan - 4pts Belgium -7pts Denmark - 2pts Finland - 7pts Greece - 3pts Hungary - 6pts Iceland - 10pts Israel - 7pts Latvia - 10pts Montenegro - 1pt San Marino - 12pts Russia - 10pts Spain - 5pts
Grand Final:
Azerbaijan - 1pt Belarus - 1pt Belgium - 4pts Croatia - 3pts Denmark - 4pts Finland - 4pts Iceland - 4pts Latvia - 5pts The Netherlands - 5pts Sweden - 5pts United Kingdom - 10pts
http://www.escchat.com/eurovision/songs/jedward-waterline.2012/
We are still to find out what the jury voted and what the public voted but we'll let you know when we find out.

IT'S SEMI FINAL DAY!!!!!!
It's finally here.... Today is the day Jedward will yet again take to the Eurovision Stage in Baku for YOUR votes.
Here's a little something to tell you everything that has to be known about it...
Time
The Semi Final starts at the following times:
00:00 Local Time
21:00 CET
20:00 GMT
The show
18 acts will perform on the night to get votes from the public. John & Edward will finish the show, performing 18th after Moldova.
Where can you watch?
You will have to check your TV guide to see what channel will be showing the Semi Final.
You will have to note that if your country is NOT able to vote in the Semi Final, they may not be broadcasting. E.g. Spain will broadcast Semi Final 1 because they're voting but they won't be broadcasting Semi Final 2 on Thursday.
Albania have a day of mourning today and they may not broadcast this semi final.
If your country isn't broadcasting the show you can still watch on the Eurovision Website HERE... It's best you look here asap as you may need to install the Octoshape plugin.
Voting
Only the following countries may vote: Montenegro, Iceland, Greece, Latvia, Albania (if they do decide to broadcast), Romania, Switzerland, Belgium, Finland, Israel, San Marino, Cyprus, Denmark, Russia, Hungary, Austria, Moldova, Ireland (who can't vote for Jedward), Azerbaijan, Italy and Spain.
The EBU (the shows organiser) find it only fair that only countries competing in the Semi Final have a say in who qualifies. However, there are six countries that don't have to compete in the Semi Final stage. The big 5 (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom) and the host country (Azerbaijan). The EBU organise a draw (the same time when the Semi Final's are allocated) and Spain, Italy and Azerbaijan were drawn for Semi Final 1. Germany, France and the UK vote in Semi Final 2.
Voting only opens once the last act, Jedward, perform and you can vote a maximum of TWENTY TIMES from each phone line you use. The voting window is about 15-20 minutes.
The Jury have already voted for the Semi Final so the televotes (public votes) will be automatically added to these. Jury/televoting is 50/50 by the way.
Note with Albania... If the broadcaster decide not to broadcast the show then the Albanian Jury have 100% say.
We do NOT know the phone charges or the phone numbers but it will be explained to you by your broadcasts commentator.
The results
Okay, we will not be told the voting scores nor will we find out what the jury's gave compared to the public. They won't announce these details until after the Grand Final.
The three hosts of the show will read out the ten qualifiers in random order after voting ends. That means 8 acts will be sent packing home.
The Press Conference
After we know the qualifiers of the Semi Final, the ten finalists have a press conference. In this, they will each pick a number out of a hat which will determine WHERE in the Grand Final they will perform. This takes part at:
02:15 local
00:15 CET
23:13 GMT
