It Was Fun
Over the course of this semester, I learned a great deal of things. Over time, I developed a sense of creativity, organization, and attention to detail. I was very happy to explore new categories of art and design. I was used to basic pictures, but thanks to a great teacher and amazing classmates that helped critique my work, I am more improved when it comes to designing. Although coming to class at the crack of dawn on a Monday morning was not ideal, it was still an experience because it taught me to be on time and motivate me for futre classes just so I could get them over with. LOL

Syntax and Semantics
The reading for this week discussed several design talents and how they apply to the digital and physical worlds. There were three abilities stated, but the one I found most intriguing was software engineering and the capacity to work with that specific software. The best thing about using various AIs is that there are varying levels of complexity that the user can choose from. The best thing about those many levels is that the majority of them can be used to do regular school assignments, like the one my class completed this week. To demonstrate how each image has a unique syntax and semantics, images were entered into a software program and edited to properly suit the screen. Argo software engineering.

Week 10
This weeks reading talked about multiple topics, but the one I found most interesting was “designing apps for smartphones or honestly any portable device. I knew a lot of time and effort went into making an app, but I didn’t know the complexities of the process. On page 248, it talks about how user interface designers have a lot to think about regarding customers and their comfortability while using their application. It also talks about how some designers don’t find glory in how much money they make from their creation, but I couldn’t be more different. If I work hard on an app and it turns out to be a hit; the first thing I am looking for is money. Yes the satisfaction of a customer is amazing and treating their needs are even better, but payment is what makes me continue to provide customer satisfaction. This week’s reading could tie into this week’s project because my logos could possibly be on a loading screen for my next application. InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator were my best friends during the process of this project.

Week8
This week’s reading really peaked my interest. The topic that caught my attention in chapter 11 was when Richard Saul Wurman said that the “e” in TED Talk stood for entertainment. I never knew what any of the letters stood for in TED, because I only watched some of them in class because my teacher made. As I’ve gotten older I have seemed to grow fonder of them. Circling back to the main point, Mr. Wurman’s stance on TED Talk and how everything is run is very fascinating. I like that he wasn’t trying too hard to inform or persuade viewers, but to give audiences something to think about after watching. Even though, when I was younger, I didn’t like to watch the videos that much, I was still a little curious about if those were professional writers, speakers, or just everyday people speaking their truth who had some coaching backstage.

Poster
Posters representing quotes from authors, activists, and many more were shown this week and last. I chose to create a faded look. I wanted to demonstrate both the severe injustice that exists in America and the meager justice that this country so desperately desires. I chose to use Adobe Photoshop as my engine. I feel like I have a better sense of the surroundings and that the tools are simpler to use. Lady Liberty was the primary focus of the poster, which also discussed how she represents both justice and injustice in America. In order to illustrate how justice is always present but only acts when it feels like it is essential, I faded the subject into the backdrop. Instead of the project I was working on last week, I am really happy with the one I am doing right now. My first poster was just created as clipart and took a more literal interpretation of the statement.

Reflection
My key takeaway from this chapter was partnership and how businesses run involving this circumstance. in different sections of the chapter, multiple questions were asked on how their business is run and how smoothly it is being run. Each answer was from a different owner of the company, and I do value how Justin Colt and Jose Fresneda took turns answering questions. It showed a form of reliability and love towards each other’s responses. I also like that after ten years of working together, they still manage to honor each other’s space and wishes towards any projects. It’s something that a new set of co-designers said that seems to resonate with me. D’Onofrio said that successful graphic design should be simple, smart, and usable. Every positive idea is a great idea in my opinion, but even masterpieces can be very simple. As long as the piece has had a lot of time put into it and is valued by its audience, it’s a winner in my book.

Week 2
In this weekly reading, I read about limits to creativity and how there were none. There was a section in the chapter where someone asked "what is the creative management style around the studio?" The question was then answered by saying the designers are basically encouraged to do whatever they want or feel what is right. As soon as I read that statement, I felt a sense of freedom and creative expression. In today's society, artist are bound by the rules of big companies saying they cant do certain things or locals frowning upon one's ideas. Its a great feeling to know that some designers are at liberty to express how they feel whether they be interior, graphic, or typography, etc.
