On YouTube there are different content creators who touch base on photography. Another person that I watch and get good tips from is Jessica Kobeissi. She is based out of New York and has had professional experience from around the world. She also doe videos like 4 photographers shoot the same model series. I think that its a good way to see how other photographers work and the kind of equipment that they use.

The upside to living in a place like Hawai‘i is that there is always a type of natural lighting. From overcast, bright light to the golden hour, there are many ways to find that right lighting. Having watched Sawyer Heartman’s video on pro lighting hacks, it’s easy to learn how to work a reflector or how to use the natural sunlight. It also helps someone like me because this video was shot on Oahu.

Last spring in my photography class, I was able to do multiple photoshoots with one of my good friends. The challenge that we had were her availability with work and school and my school and work schedule. We had chosen words that we felt represented her as a person. I had gotten this inspiration from Brendan North. He had done a project called the “Painted Series.” I chose my best friend because she had gone through so much trouble with school, work and her home life that she was an inspiration to me.

Shooting photography for over five years, had led me in to looking for a new camera lens. As someone who does a lot of sports photography and portraits, I want a lens that can do both. The person that I turn to the most is YouTuber Sawyer Hartman.  He gives his opinions on what his favorite lens and he also shows how it photographs. With this information it helps me prepare on how much I would need to save to get that lens.

Being able to create a profile to show my work is hard to do because I am taking hundreds of pictures and having to choose the ones that look the best. The platform that I currently use is Instagram because its fast and easy to reach a variety of people from around the world. Trying to figure out how to make my page look uniformed was difficult because of the many colors that I use. But being able to add multiple photos was something that game me the option to show different angels from the shoot. It also allowed me to enter this black and white photo phase and add a pop of color here and there.

What’s in My Camera Bag
Tumblr media
Having gone to a photo shoot and noticing that I had no SD card in either of my cameras, I had to go to fisher Hawaii to pick up a new SD card that didn’t even work in my cameras. So I had to return it and drive to Best Buy to pick up an SD card that would work with my camera then return back to the photoshoot spot. This is how I learned that having extra SD cards in my bag are the most important to keep. After having taken 3 years yearbook and 8 years of taking client photos. Here are some of the items I keep in my bag.
- CanonT3i connected to a duel battery pack
- Canon77D
- Battery charger for both cameras
- Extra SD cards ( In purple case)
- Canon EF 50mm  f/1.5 lens
- Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lens
- Canon EF 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens
- Rode VideoMicro on Camera
