Ever post content on Facebook and notice that it’s just not getting to the right audience or not reaching to as many people as you hoped? There is now a solution to have your Facebook post target the right audience while reaching significantly more people. Facebook Ads allow you to do all of this and more! Facebook Ads are designed for businesses to reach more people. Create more engagement, encourage more brand awareness, promote an event you are hosting, and a lot more. In order for businesses to succeed in this technologically advanced world, businesses need to promote themselves on social media to reach more people. Facebook has a how-to link to doing Facebook Ads by clicking here. In order to begin creating ads, you first need to have a business page. If you need help creating a business page, click here.
After you create a business page on Facebook, you will want to go on Facebook Ads Manager.
Here are the steps to creating an Ad.
Choose your Marketing Objective. Do you want to increase traffic, engagement, reach, or brand awareness? It all depends on what you want to do for your business.
Next, you will want to choose a name for the campaign. To prevent confusion, I usually do the name followed by the campaign. For example, “Jared Watson Awareness Campaign”.
After that, click continue and it will bring you to the Ad Set where you will name your Ad Set. For example, “Jared Watson Awareness Ad Set”. I recommend following the same guide for naming your Ad Set. This part is crucial because you will be choosing your audience and who you want your content to market to.
After choosing your audience (which you can find out who your audience is by clicking here.
Next, after choosing your audience, you will scroll down to choose your budget and if you want to spend a certain amount daily. It all depends on how much advertising you want to get out to the audience. I recommend discussing this with your company before you submit anything. Having the correct budget for a Facebook Ad is crucial for marketing campaigns.
Now it is time to go to the final page which is the actual ad. First, you will want to choose the name of the ad and I still recommend following the original guide for choosing the name. For example, “Jared Watson Awareness Ad”.
Here you have the options to have different types of Facebook Ads. A carousel of images, a single image, a slideshow, and a few other options. Make sure to include primary text, headline and a description of the content being posted. It is always important to have some sentences in your posts, so the viewers know what the picture is about. If you want to bring people to your website, it is crucial to include the website URL and a description of the link. After you finish all of this, you can now click confirm and finish your first ever Facebook Ad!

How to be an Experienced Traveler
When starting off as a traveler, there are many decisions that are involved to become an experienced traveler. Especially when you are on a budget like me. Before you start, you need to make a decision… Who will you fly with?
I chose to fly with United and for this blog, we will be talking about how to fly efficiently with United. If you would like to see how to know how to begin traveling with other airlines, check out TPG.com for an in-depth guide on other airlines.
1. Choosing the right credit card (s). When I first started getting into the travel business, I looked into getting the best card for the best price. Also, if you are just building your credit, you might need a higher credit score to get some of these cards. In that case, a prepaid credit card might be a good start in order to get to the airline cards.
a. The first credit card would be the MileagePlus Explorer Credit Card from Chase. This card is fabulous for acquiring miles! If you have any big expenses that you have to pay for, use this card instead to make the payment and qualify for their sign-up bonus miles. Make sure you can pay off the card as well.
b. On top of the sign-up bonus, the Mileage Plus Explorer has many other benefits including one free checked bag saving around $50-$100, two complimentary tickets to the United Lounges, and 1 mile for every $1 spent on regular purchases.
2. After you have chosen your credit card, you will want to sign up with MileagePlus X. This app allows you to get more miles with any purchase they have available. For example, if you go to Starbuck frequently and MileagePlus X offers 2 miles for every $1 spent. You have the option to buy yourself a gift card on the MileagePlus X app that you can use at Starbucks. The miles that you acquire from MileagePlus X go directly to United Account. On top of getting miles from this app, the miles you acquire from your credit card also stack so if you use your MileagePlus Explorer credit card on the MileagePlus X app. So on top of getting the 2 miles per $1 spent, you also get the 1 mile per $1 spent from the credit card totally 3 miles per $1 spent.
If you would like to download this app, it is available on all platforms to download for free. All you need is your MileagePlus account from United which you create when you decide to fly with United. You will also need to add your credit card information to the app and apply it to those purchases. Click here for the link to the app.
3. Once you start really getting into traveling, I highly recommend getting the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card. This has some features that are similar to the MileagePlus Explorer card. However, this credit card can acquire more points per dollar spent and has an even greater signup bonus usually totaling around 50,000 points that can be transferred to miles with a 1:1 ratio.
Credit cards are essential to affordable traveling. Just because they are credit cards does not mean you should recklessly spend money. My word of advice is that anytime you use your credit card, make sure you have money in the bank to pay it off. Treat the credit card as your money and not borrowed money. Once you follow that rule, you will be able to use the miles you have acquired to fly for an unbelievably cheap price. I am going to Savannah, Georgia from Los Angeles in a few months for around $50 round trip. Hope to see you on my flight!
