There are two manga that were made after the anime as extra/expanded stories.

There are also several comic anthologies. There is a full list [here].

There are two companion shorts called “Side Bunny” and “Side Tiger” in which all the other heroes visit the respective main character’s apartment. “Side Bunny” takes place sometime during the ten months between [episode 13] and [episode 14]. “Side Tiger” takes place one month after the epilogue. There are two movies - 

The first half of [Tiger&Bunny: The Beginning] is basically a recap of the first two episodes, but it also includes a lot of extra scenes that were cut from the aired episodes and an extra episode that takes place between episode 2 and episode 3. It’s definitely worth the watch. You can watch it online [here].

[Tiger&Bunny: The Rising] takes place sometime 1 to 3 years after the anime ends about 2 years after the epilogue. You can watch it online [here].

All of the above ↑ are 100% Canon.

There is a third manga serialization, by Sakakibara Mizuki, that deviates from Canon. It sort of follows the first couple episodes, but goes full AU by episode 8. You can read it [here].

But Why Does No One Talk About Pining Shiro?

I have a bone to pick with the Sheith fandom. Everywhere in this fandom I see Keith freaking out about Shiro, which I will admit is completely canon. But you know what else is canon?

Shiro’s bias for Keith.

I know that it’s seems subtle, but it’s not at the same time. I rewatched Voltron Season 1 and 2 before Season 3 because I noticed that I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to Shiro the first time around. A lot of his lines are pretty generic-leader-type, but during me rewatch, I noticed that his character cues weren’t. So, without further ado, here begins my long meta post about how Shiro is pining after Keith.

So yesterday I attended Walker Stalker Con for the SOLE reason to meet Steven Yeun (and so he could sign my Sheith ita bag). The whole day I was lowkey nervous about how he’d react to my bag (and the ship), so I brought my RTR Keith book /just/ in case he didn’t feel comfortable signing it.

I wait in the autograph line for about 2 hours (at this point, almost 3) and it isn’t until I’m ONE person away that I get the butterflies, “Oh no, I’m next.” What if he doesn’t like my bag, what if he cringes!?!?!? So my turn is next, I say hi and shake his hand. I stumble out something about if he’s ok with signing my Shiro and Keith bag (would he even know the ship name??) He goes “Sure!”. But O.M.G, his friendly tone /quickly/ changed to that of a kid on Christmas morning when I lift up the bag to him; “Oh RAD. Fuck /yeah/” were the FIRST things to come out of his mouth after seeing my Sheith bag. (I was fucking beaming, y'all. Omg) he took a couple minutes to really look at all the charms and asked me where people keep getting all this “cool art” from. (Guys. He’s aware of our fanart.) And then he fuckin’ WIPS OUT HIS PHONE going, “I gotta take a picture.” And what the hell am I gonna say? No? (Pssshh) I hold it upright for him and goes, “No, I want you /in/ the photo. >;3” (fbwiskfbeidndOK SuRe) so he takes his photo. (My face and ita bag are in his gallery files rn..omfg..) after that it’s time for him to sign, he starts looking for a good spot to sign it..and even after /all/ that just happened, I STILL ask him, “I hope you don’t mind the pairing.” And y'all..he was sincere when he answered, “No, not at all!” (♡♡♡♡♡)

I rarely hear about his interactions with VLD fans and ZERO for any kind of shippy interactions.

He was /nothing/ but sweet and fun/excited when he took the time to look at all the charms and compliment our fandoms artists.

That is an interaction I will definitely /never/ forget. ♡

I restarted watching VLD.

we really had a whole ass episode about the start of sheith’s relationship. a whole freaking episode that contrasted the past to the present.

an episode that pointed to keith and said, “THIS WAS KEITH BEFORE SHIRO AND THIS IS HIM NOW, YEARS LATER, COMPLETELY AND OPENLY DEVOTED TO HIM. LOOK AT HOW DIFFERENT HE IS FROM SHIRO’S EX-BOYFRIEND.” 

and if that wasn’t enough, it dangled shiro in front of us and said, “THESE WERE THE WALLS SHIRO HAD UP. HE DIDN’T WANT PEOPLE TO TAKE CARE OF HIM. NOW LOOK AT HIM, SAFE IN THE ARMS OF SOMEONE THAT LOVES HIM. LOOK AT HIM FEELING LIKE BEING TAKEN CARE OF IS OKAY WHEN IT’S KEITH TAKING CARE OF HIM.”

the literal physical reminders of how much sheith has changed. how shiro has silver hair now, is missing his arm, has a scar across his face. how keith truly looks nothing like a child anymore. doesn’t sound like one either. he’s fully a man. a man with a scar on his face he gets after telling shiro he loves him. that scar forever a reminder of what keith will do to save shiro, because he loves shiro and will never ever give up on him.

YEAH…. we had a whole episode like that.
