Aloe, Aloe, Aloe!
One of our favourite plants that can be used as a herbal remedy, is Aloe Vera.
They are wonderfully lush green succulent plants, very striking in appearance with their spotted leaves. They make fabulous house plants, instantly giving colour and life to a room. Don’t be fooled by their spiky appearance, they are quite soft to touch and not at all prickly.

Rosehip Jam
Rosehips are everywhere at this time of year. As well as adding colour to our autumn gardens, they can be turned into delicious rosehip jam!
There are many recipes to be found in books and online but most recipes advise you to wait until after the first frost before harvesting your rosehips. This makes them sweeter and improves the flavour.

Enchanted garden.
It was perfectly still this morning. Before the sun had risen fully, or the birds and rabbits had woken up, it was quiet and frozen and still. Hereford lay under a blanket of frost waiting for the sun’s rays to wake it from it’s frozen slumber. Flowers looked sugar edged and Autumn’s seed heads had grown a spiky white stubble overnight. Winter I think we can say that winter has arrived!
