Concerts coming up and every second I think about it I tear up a bit I'm so excited it's making me cry. On the topic of the decemberists, todays song is 12/17/12! This song doesn't necessarily have a special meaning, it's just been a very gentle and comforting song to hear. I just got my families old harmonica from my moms house and may put the work into learning this song.

This is my absolute favorite cover of any decemberists album. I think about it all the time. I want a quilt of it. It's so stunning and "what a terrible world, what a beautiful world" just captures my heart immediately. I don't know which album is my favorite but this is definitely the most emotional for me.

I will have to listen to it a few more times but I love it!!! what are everyone's thoughts on the new album? in terms of musically it's definitely taking some getting used to as it's soooo drastically different from anything else he's done, but lyrically I'm absolutely loving it. Porter has tackled a sensitive subject with so much care and not once did it feel like he was alienating his audience. I of course appreciate everything this man has done and if anything, I feel like speaking on the parasocial nature of his relationship to his audience and being honest about his experience as someone who has been a public figure for more than half his life is kind of a logical next step.

Hey! I missed some days haha. I'm not great at habits. Regardless, today's song is one that I really heavily associate with losing some rats I owned in middle school. Losing them and using this song to cope became a sort of thing I'd do for all my beloved pets I lost. I have several songs that I associate with my pets and the grief of losing them but also the joy of having them. This whole album is one of my favorites by arcade fire and I hope I can share more in the future!

Todays song is from a band I've heard almost as long as I've been alive. I hope one day to do a cover of this song, and the avett brothers in general holds a very special spot in my heart and I very closely associate them with my family and how much they mean to me. This is going to be a first of many. I would like to do a daily post with a new song I love and why! This song was my introduction to porter robinson, when I was pretty young, maybe even abefore his most popular album, Worlds, had come out. Embarrassingly enough, I had heard it from a my little pony music video (a fandom I was in at the time, sue me, i was a young teen) and actually i listened to it without ever knowing it was Porter Robinson. Porter is now hands down my favorite artist, and has gotten me through some tough periods of my life, but we will discuss that another time! For now, enjoy!
