Life in Color Legacy Challenge

Life in Color is a ten-generation legacy challenge for The Sims 4 where each generation is based on a different color. It is inspired by Lil Simsie’s Not So Berry legacy challenge, so if you liked that challenge, Life in Color could be fun for you! Each generation has rules that should be completed in order to move on to the next generation. However, Sims can get a bit wild sometimes, so it is alright to alter the rules slightly as you see fit. 

For this challenge, I suggest...

- Start with 20,000 Simoleons and a single Young Adult Sim

- Set life span to normal

- Have every heir follow the same genetic lineage (mother, daughter, etc.)

- Use minimal (preferably no) cheats relating to career or skills

Know that as of late 2022 I am starting to test play this challenge. As I play through each generation I will most likely alter and perfect the rules to make it more fun. Also, if you have any mods that allow for more traits in CAS, use them to enhance your gameplay! (For example, a perfect addition to generation one would be the Cat Lover and Dog Lover traits). Generation one: Pink

You’re a competitive detective with a spirited passion to make a change in the world and prove your worth. You came from nothing, but you dream of leaving behind a long-lasting legacy. You’re very outgoing and adore animals with all your heart.

Generation Two: Turquoise

You have always been interested in fashion and design, and you dream of making it big in the world. You love to go dancing on weekends with your friends. You know you're talented, and you work hard to show the world all you can do. In your spare time, you love to create new clothes and designs to sell online.

Traits: Overachiever, Self-Assured, Dance Machine

- Reach level 10 of the Style Influencer career 

- Complete the Friend of the World aspiration

- Master Dancing, Painting, Writing and Entrepreneur

- Sell at least 10 different outfits on Trendi

Generation Three: Green

You spent every second you could as a child daydreaming about a world more fantastical than your own. One day you stumbled across a magical portal that introduced you into a mysterious new realm. You have always felt drawn to plants, and you want nothing more than to run a shop selling your plants and potions. You’re a very relaxed person and never had the drive for a traditional life. You just want to live in peace with your closest friends and your flourishing garden.

Aspiration: Purveyer of Porions

Traits: Green Fiend, Clumsy, Loves the Outdoors

Rules:

- Learn all potions as well as all spells from one or more school of magic

- Have a well-maintained garden

- Master Gardening

- Complete the Purveyor of Potions aspiration

Generation Four: Violet

Ever since you were gifted a telescope as a child, you have been fascinated by space. Your biggest goal in life is to explore the cosmos. You’re very well-rounded and love to exercise and stay healthy. Despite loving your work, you still make time for friends and romance.

Traits: Ambitious, Active, Genius

- Reach level 10 of the Astronaut career

- Complete the Nerd Brain aspiration

- Master Fitness, Logic, and Rocket Science 

- Build a rocket ship, travel to Sixam, and befriend an Alien

Generation five: Yellow

Cozy is your middle name, and you love to bundle up by the fire and write wholesome novels. You’re very optimistic, cheerful, and lazy. You’ve always dreamed of finding your soulmate and want nothing more than a happy and loving life.

Generation Six: Red

You’re a mischievous goofball who loves to cause mayhem and pull pranks. You have a hard time taking things seriously, and you would rather goof off than pay attention in class. As you get older, you begin to take crime more seriously.

- Be enemies with your neighbors

Generation Seven: Blue

You never felt like your parents understood you, and you spent most of your time in your room as a child. You love science and heard stories of your great-grandparent’s epic intergalactic adventures. You’re a natural at chemistry which leads you to become a great scientist and an even greater baker. 

Traits: Loner, Materialistic, Foodie

Aspiration: Renaissance Sim

- Reach level 10 of the Scientist career

- Complete the Renaissance Sim aspiration

- Master Logic and Baking

- Have only one friend as a child and stay friends with them forever

Generation eight: Magenta

You always dreamed of having a large family, and you aspire to be a master programmer. Cupid never seems to be on your side, but that’s alright since your family always has your back. 

Aspiration: Computer Whiz

Generation nine: Black and White

Growing up, your household was loving and energetic. You love being outdoors, and you’re extremely athletic. You’re pretty indecisive and have a hard time picking a path to follow.

Traits: Active, Adventurous, Loves the Outdoors  

Aspiration: Extreme Sports Enthusiast

- Join the Athlete career

- Quit your job as an Adult to pursue your dreams

- Complete the Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration

Generation ten: Orange

You have always found yourself drawn to animals. You dream of running your own farm, and you also really love decorating and getting in the spirit for holidays. You have a sunny disposition and want nothing more than a happy life and family.

Western Zodiac Legacy Challenge

 Welcome to the Western Zodiac Legacy Challenge official rules! This challenge will take you through twelve generations of zodiac-inspired fun in the Sims 4. Each gen will represent one of the twelve signs from Aries to Pisces.

General Rules:

1. Every heir must be related to the previous one whether it be through adoption, birth, or blended families.

2. All rules for each generation must be completed before the heir dies. 

3. Life span must be set to normal.

4. Cheats should not be used to complete the goals for each generation, but mods are allowed.

6. Each heir must have the required traits, and they must complete their aspiration unless not specified.

Each Zodiac sign has an element associated with it that impacts the sign’s identity.

The Fire signs are Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. Fire is the element of the spirit, and It’s passionate, fierce, and energetic. These signs have strong wills and lots of confidence. They are enthusiastic, driven, and impulsive. 

Next, the Earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Earth is the element of the physical realm, and It is all about being in the moment. Earth signs tend to be more materialistic and grounded than others. They are good with money and are practical people. 

Then comes the Air signs, which are Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. Air is the element of the mind and thought. It is creative, social, and intelligent. These signs are communication-oriented, gossip-prone, and logical. They are more emotionally detached and often spend time in their own heads.

Finally there are the water signs, Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. Water is the element of the heart, and It is all about emotions and sensitivity. Water signs can be more spiritual than others. They feel things on a deeper level.

Signs are also categorized into Masculine and Feminine.

The Masculine signs are Libra, Gemini, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. These signs tend to get energy from the outside world, and they can be more assertive and intense than their feminine counterparts. 

The Feminine signs are Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn. They tend to be more cautious and careful in their day to day lives, and they absorb energy rather than expel it. Feminine signs may be more in touch with their emotions than masculine signs.

Generation One: Aries

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and they definitely love being first. Aries are natural-born leaders. They love to start things, however, finishing tasks isn’t their strong suit. They have lots of energy and motivation when it comes to experiences. Aries are very charismatic and love every new day. They love to conquer and confront and are not afraid to venture into the unknown.

Symbol: The Ram

Fire sign, Masculine Sign

You grew up in an environment that never allowed you to reach your full potential, so as soon as you became a young adult you moved away from home to start a new life. You find yourself in the doctor career and you are determined to prove yourself to the world.

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac. They are all about rewards, and being an Earth sign plays a big role in this. Taurus love material goods and they revel in delicious excess. They also enjoy romance and can be very methodical, patient, and dependable, much like the Earth itself. Being ruled by Venus definitely contributes to Taurus’s love of pleasure and goods. The Taurus has generous, steady, and patient energy, and they can also be extremely stubborn. They see all their projects through and care more about the outcomes than the journey. They enjoy building and sustaining a lush, comfortable, fulfilling life. 

Symbol: The Bull

They are interested in developing relationships and are very bright, quick-witted, and the life of the party. They are very creative people as well. Geminis hold the power to be change-makers, and they are great at adapting. They love to weave together endless conversations and are great communicators. Being an air sign, they sometimes change more than others would like. This can make them appear as untrustworthy or flaky, but they are typically very lighthearted and love humor.

Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac. Cancer signs are all about home and family. They are maternal, domestic, and natural-born nurturers. They often have large families and have a good memory for storytelling. They are very emotional and wear their heart on their sleeves. They tend to be inner aware and can be some of the most sensitive of any sign. They have protective awareness at the core of their being and are kind, giving, and sympathetic. They can always be counted on by their family, and they tend to enjoy staying at home. They are often the matriarchs of the home. Sometimes cancers can become overly emotional, needy, and vulnerable due to their intense feelings.

They love the limelight and have a flair for the dramatic. They often take leadership to inspire their team, and they are natural-born leaders. They are born with a sunny disposition and are often enthusiastic, optimistic, and prideful. Sometimes they become overly self-centered and it can be hard for them to focus on other people. Despite how they truly feel, a Leo will always want to come across as confident. Their great willpower comes from Leo being a fixed sign that is resistant to change. They have a fiery nature that thrives off of activity, stimulation, and bold art forms.

Virgos are adaptable and meticulous, however their highly functional mind can lead to anxiety, worry, and insomnia. Balance is important to them, and they can burn themselves with work if they do not get enough time for self-care. They are good communicators and are happy to be at service to their family and friends.

Libras are focused on the outside world rather than themselves, and they can act as mediators in any challenge. They are quick to smooth out arguments, and they easily forgive others. A Libra will always be entertaining and make sure that everyone around them is having a good time. They are sociable and hate being alone.

Scorpios tend to be patient and artistic, and they are reliable most of the time. Their tempers are short, and they are true fighters. Sometimes they can become rigid and overly fixated on their obsessions, but they know that good things come to those who wait. Scorpios love having control, and they can be suspicious, manipulative, and slow to trust others.

Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the zodiac. They are explorers at heart, and they value truth and honesty. They have a broad and open-minded approach to life. They are very active and adventurous and have enthusiastic energy. They are keen on adapting and philosophy, and they are very optimistic and find it easy to see the bright side. Sometimes they can be brutally honest which can get them in trouble if they don’t remember to control their impatience and occasional short temper.

Sometimes they can obsess over their goals in life, and this can make them stubborn and relentless. Their work ethic is often unmatched by those around them, and when feeling insecure they can cut people out of their lives.

They do not usually fit in with mainstream society, and they can be radical and ahead of their time. Aquarius’ are innovators and leaders who always look towards the future. They can be hard to relate to due to their capacity for abstract thought.

Pisces are associated with dreams and illusions. They are tender and sympathetic, and they are very artistic and can be councilors to their community. Pisces will help anyone in need and are idealistic and imaginative. Pisces are the final sign of the zodiac, and they carry some qualities from each sign before them.
