There’s no such thing as too many cameras.

I recently bought a Polaroid Image camera that was listed as coming with expired 600 series film. The film had expired in April 1984 and the reason it lasted this long is undoubtedly because it doesn’t fit in the Image series cameras. Thankfully I’m a hoarder and had over a dozen 600 series camera lying around the test this film out on…
The packaging is sublime. There is no other word to describe it. It is in itself a work of art.
The unopened foil packaging made me hopeful that the developing chemicals hadn’t dried out. What can I say, I'm an eternal optimist! I slipped it in to an Image AF and.....nothing.
No familiar motor sound. No familiar ejection of the darkslide. Nothing. I grabbed another camera, this time a 635 CL, but again no joy. If you buy expired film and it doesn't work it's always worth trying in another camera if you have a spare. As mad as it sounds I've had expired SX-70 film work in an SX-70 but not in a Land Camera 1000 - which is extra mental when you think about how many more parts the SX-70 has to power.
So what’s next? It seems a waste to just throw away 20 unexposed pictures that MAY just work. Once again I'm thankful for being a hoarder as I reach for my Polaroid bag full of empty Impossible Project cartridges.
Saved empty cartridges with a charge are the my best hope to try and get some pictures from this film! Whether it's successful or not is to be seen. And to be seen in another blog post at that.

So many Polaroid cameras in the house at the moment....
Slowly trying to photograph them all, get them on the (yet to go online) website. Still need to piece together the website. I also need to never take photos without natural light ever again.
So much to do. So much to remember.
