Mediocrity
It’s 2am. My home is silent except with the occasional loud noises of cars and cicadas. I went down from my room and took a can of coffee and a small box of peach strudel from the fridge. I saw my dad sleeping on the couch while a crime documentary was playing on the tv. My cat narrowly opened his eyes at the sound of my footsteps.
There was a tugging of some sorts that wanted me to be at a higher place. I exited my unit and pressed the elevator button. While waiting, I cracked open my coffee and took a sip to keep awake after a whole day of playing video games and scrolling through social media. The elevator arrived on my floor and I went to the rooftop.
The shining city of Kuala Lumpur was truly a breathtaking view. I put down my box of dessert on a table. I slightly leaned on the railing and braved against my fear of heights to simply stare at the city while I drank my coffee.
For me, the view of the city always warms my soul and eases my heart like the sun could never do during the day. It kept me from drowning in my worries of the future. It kept me in the present instead of dwelling in my dark past.
I went back to my table and ate the peach strudel. The cream filled my mouth with the taste of peaches and crunch of the pastry. All of these form together to make a wonderful and refreshing taste during the night.
I drank coffee to wash it all down. Pair the night city view with dessert and coffee, you get a moment of tranquility. I thought to myself, “What am I going to do in the future?”. My dream job was always to be an artist that drew landscapes. But lately, no matter how much I try to draw, I just can’t get better. The art always ends up mediocre at best and I am always unsatisfied with the flaws of the drawing.
I finished the last of the coffee and rubbed my lips with my shirt’s sleeve. “Screw it, if my art is mediocre at best, then I will be a mediocre artist.” I stood up with grim determination and went back into my room.
After months of spending hours drawing everyday, I’m finally satisfied with myself. After laughing hysterically for about a minute, I maxed the volume of my speakers and took a cold shower while dancing like a maniac. I dried myself and put makeup on my face. “I finally did it!” I slammed my face on my study table to depict a face made from thick powder with a big red nose as the clown theme bleed my ears. “I gave up.”

5 things I want to tell the 10 years older me
Dear cooler Aidil, when you're reading this, you've probably graduated from ASIQS and college and possibly university. Maybe you've started working somewhere or you're barely scraping by while struggling as an author. You might even be dead and will never read this, but these are the things I want to tell you.
1. I hope that you've gotten more character development and has become more mature than me. Maybe not as much as a main character in a story but at least a side character amount of character development.
2. I know for a fact that you will lose contact with our friends from ASIQS. But if they invite you to a reunion, don't be such an insecure fella and join them.
3. I'M BEGGING YOU, PLEASE DON'T LOSE THAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND THE ABILITY TO CRACK JOKES. It's one of the things I'm proud of myself for having.
4. If you're married, she must be a wonderful person and I look forward to meeting her hehe. If you have children, you better be the coolest dad of all time. If you're still single, think to yourself that you gotta remain pure lol. One more thing, take care of our parents and siblings.
5. If you're ever struggling with something, just remember that you got through a ton of hardships so you will definitely get through it. After you get through it, you'll probably just say "ez"
(I usually write funny stuff but thinking about the future makes me feel a sort of sad emotion so I decided to write this seriously (but of course I had to put some jokes here and there))

My School
Dear Zaid, I hope that you're alive and kicking! So I heard from my teacher that we're exchanging schools next month. I'm sending you this email to tell you about the good and bad points of my school.
First of all, the good things about my school. We don't need to wear a specific uniform when going there but we do need to wear a jubah/kurta/baju melayu. The toilets are fine but each class has to wash theirs everyday. The students are also allowed to address the teachers with "kak" or "abang" so there's not really a stiff atmosphere with the teachers.
Next, the neutral points. We have physical education every morning except for Fridays. There are fun sports (which I enjoy) during it but there's also fitness which makes you want to go to the toilet and stay there until the period ends. The school is actually quite small when comparing it to a government school so we interact with our juniors quite often. I'm not a really fan of that because I usually sleep after school and they sometimes interrupt my nap.
Lastly, the bad points. I think that overall, we get less holidays than government schools. I really like being dumb and playing games all day so I want more holidays. The events of this school are also not organized very well. I can't remember some examples because it's been a year and a half but I've always complained about this before.
Anyway, I've got to go and finish my homework now. When you're free, please tell me about your school too. Drop me a line soon! Bye!

Introduction
Hi, I'm Aidil Qawariezmi. You can call me Aidil (if you're not Japanese). I like eating all kinds of desserts and drinking tea. My hobby is reading books. My plans for the future is to write a book while working somewhere and quit that job once my book is published and continue writing books.
