For purposes of comparison and working on the treatment of the new comic. I've taken a panel from my last comic and redrawn it in my sketchbook using only black ink.

The final outcome! So pleased with this, in the end I have gone for the standard print due to the higher quality colour. Though blurb' s economy print does still look great and is an excellent opportunity for large batch printing, which may be something I need in the very near future!

So my final cover image. As you can tell the cover is actually one of the pages from within the comic itself. I didn’t originally intend to use a page from within the book, however time constraints within the project were such that I had to choose between spending less time on the final page illustartions or scrap the idea of making seperate cover illustrations. Realising that I actually had multiple full page illustrations within the comic gave me the idea to instead use one full page illustration for the front and one for the rear covers. Of the full page illustrations it was between pages 12, 19, 21 and 22. I went for page 19 in the end. It is without a doubt my favourite page and illustration from the comic. It shows within itself the idea behind the comic. The forlorn struggle of the Celtic Durotriges against the might of the Roman military. Page 12 ended up being the rear cover as I felt it kept the tone of the idea the two pages are very similar atmospherically. My original choice was to make page 22 the back cover, however I felt it gave too much of the story away.
