Don’t ignore red flags on someone just because they’re LGBT. I think our community is really bad at dealing with shitty people within our communities. Yes, a lot of creeps and abusers and predators are cishet men, but they don’t make up all of them. We need to stop giving people passes on being horrible just because they’re some form of LGBT. Being some letters within the LGBT does not make someone a good person. I know a lot of people who automatically trust anyone who holds an LGBT identity and it’s gotten them into a lot of bad situations. I’ve been taken advantage of by other LGBT who I mistakenly trusted because we are both LGBT. Being LGBT is a way we express our gender or sexuality, it is not a moral position.
