ever changing winds

Fandom: One Piece OCs in this story: Yuka Kanemoto, Spectre, Carlyle, Willow Summary: Yuka and her pirate crew, the Breeze Pirates were about to have a fine day to relax and restock until a minor incident happens. | takes place before sabaody arc and marineford arc, slight mention of kid pirates (if you squint hard enough oops), no beta read we're basically gods /ref Words: 550

A quiet day was fast approaching for the Breeze Pirates on their ship. They expected this however since the winds were indicating pleasant weather beforehand throughout the journey to restock the ship at a nearby island.

Yuka was on duty to be the helmsman for the day until a voice rang out. 

“Yuka! There's Marines on our tail!” Spectre was noticing while keeping watch for any signs of danger. How long the Marines were on their tail, they had no idea but being one of the two people who has Observation Haki in the crew, it was definitely close enough for them to notice. And close enough for a warning “shot”.

“Man, these days they can't get enough of us, huh? Hold on, let me find a spot!” Yuka replied.

Yuka was a bold woman at times. Hell, if anything, people call her reckless at times. But she was never reckless. She always had an angle to know when was the right time to strike. 

She came close to the tail end of the ship and positioned herself to attack.

Four. 

Five. 

Five Marine battleships were coming closer and closer.

Yuka smirked and unsheathed her katana. One slice. 

“Windcutter Strike: Tenfold.”

Immediately, all but one battleship was sliced in half by the wind itself. 

If anything, leaving one ship behind was definitely a warning shot. 

She's from the South Blue, whose known pirates are known to be a little more vicious than usual.

Spectre chuckles. “Well. I can definitely see people going to the surviving ship to retreat. Don't you think outputting that on Tenfold was too much?”

Yuka snickers in response. “It's the Marines. They know how to swim.”

At the same time, two tables were set up for lunch time and Willow brought out some plates of pasta and grilled fish for the rest of the crew to eat. 

Both Spectre and Yuka come down from their positions, the first mate nudges the captain to get her attention and shows her a sight through an illusion they sent out to survey the surviving ship. 

Officers were scrambling, where they were alerting someone on their Transponder Snail about ‘already sent a message to the pirates’ and ‘awaiting new orders’. 

Spectre stops the vision and looks at Yuka. “What the hell do they mean now? It's a hell of a message if they want to send 5 ships to get our attention but for what?”

“No idea. If something is happening, then we should be prepared for a big event coming our way. But for now, let's eat! I'm hungry!” Yuka replies. 

After a good hearty meal, the crew goes back to their own work. 

A News Coo is now standing on some barrels and Yuka grabs a newspaper and pays the bird. She reads it and something piques her interest. 

Sabaody. 

The winds have suddenly changed for her. She was lucky to know that this little quirk was one of the perks from eating her Devil Fruit. The winds were definitely changing for something big. 

Yuka grabs the shoulder of a passing Carlyle. 

“Carlyle, you're up. We need to go to Sabaody. We need to pay a visit to those Celestial fucks.”

He cracks his knuckles. “Alright then.”

The winds have changed for a war looming at the horizon.

hello im jais, i write stuff sometimes :]

basic info:

i use all pronouns, i am an adult (18+), i mostly write stuff for my own ocs but if i am motivated enough i can do reader inserts for the fandoms im mostly in (i just would have to do a lot of research of the character that i am writing, but i will make a lot of mistakes so expect ooc stuff)

Honkai: Star Rail [the oc (s) which has been made for this fandom: del (main oc) and callisto (not as written much but does definitely exist)]
