“That’s a downer kind of attitude to have. And I thought I was bad.”
“Not necessarily, I don’t believe in luck or fate, but I do believe in choices and coincidence. I think we all have the power to take control and enact change, and even though that’s not very mystical or magical, it’s empowering.”

“But what?”
“But nobody’s lucky, especially not people in this town. And because I don’t know you, I don’t know how ‘lucky’ you actually are. I’m not one to presume.”

“I mean, I’m no expert on the English language here, but I don’t think that’s the definition of unprofessional. Annoying, though, yeah, I’d say that much.”
“Not the definition, no, but an applicable descriptor,” she retorted, then smiled, “But I’m not here to disagree with you. That straight up sucks. Where’d you fly in from?”

“Magical–thanks. Time to go get pummeled. Yay.”
“I actually have a free period, so I might join you. I’ve always wanted to play dodgeball. It seems terrifying, humiliating, and fun!”

“Yeah, you’ve got that right.”
“I guess of all the problems a person could have, overzealous mothers is a pretty painless one.”

“Annoying and unprofessional would be my choice words.”
A four hour delay on a twelve hour flight should never be referred to as ‘relaxing downtime’ by anyone. In any language.

“I’m of the firm belief that any living creature can be dumb if you give it enough time and opportunity. Take infomercials for example, those are the pinnacle of human stupidity.”
“But what I don’t get is how people get their cats to do these stupid things and just happen to have a camera near by. I mean, look at this guy. He ran straight into the glass. I thought cats were supposed to be smart.”

“Well, I only arrived a week ago but it’s down the hall to the left, fourth door also on the left. Red door. Hard to miss. Gonna be on the west side of campus.”
“I think I’m supposed to be in PE right now, getting my ass beat at dodgeball. Problem is… I can’t find the gym. Any pointers?”

“I don’t really get any of it, but..I don’t think I should theorize, y’know? I’ve spent way too much time in the deep web.” Giggling at the dramatics, Ana gave Jade a cheery smile. “Hopefully it’s the first one! You too, y’know. Your cheekbones are totally great.”
“Hah! well, you know what they always say: don’t think about it too much,” she joked, albeit halfheartedly, then her genuine smile returned and she lifted a hand to feel her cheekbones as if she was unaware of their appearance and needed to feel it out, “Oh thanks! I’ve always wanted to look like Benedict Cumberbatch!”

moonchild-ella :
“I’m sorry that sounds- that sounds terrifying honestly. I’m glad you’re back? Is that the right thing to say?” Ella asked awkwardly. She wasn’t even sure that she believed this girl, but if Jade did come back, maybe her mother could too. Maybe she wasn’t going crazy. “Do you think I could help you figure it out? How it happened and all?” she asked. Ella laughed at the idea, “Not a bad idea”
Jade shrugged, “It wasn’t so bad, the three seconds before death were the worst, but after that it’s pretty much smooth sailing,” she explained, but she didn’t feel like elaborating further, “Thanks. Yeah, you can give it a shot. Honestly, I’m drawing a blank I tried to burnt he treestump where I died and that didn’t work out. I’m short on ideas at this point,” she laughed, “I guess if I get the van then I’ll have to round up a crew of meddling kids to go with it.”

“Was that your way of trying to be punny about dying? Because if so kudos to you but whatever you have is fine. i mean I can wear what I have on, it doesn’t matter.” She moved closer to the car and watched the other girl rummage through clothes before she caught the things being thrown at her. “This is fine with me” she said, looking around to make sure nobody was around before she quickly slipped the leggings on underneath the dress that she was already wearing and then switching out the dresses. “This is fine, thank you. Hey! I didn’t know we wore the same size” she said with a small smile.
“I’m punny about everything, especially dying. You could say I have a pretty grave sense of humor. It's almost tomb much!” she joked before whispering, “I’m so clever,” under her breath. She turned her back as Lydia changed out of formality and made sure no one was watching. She shrugged, “Oh cool, then I might have to borrow that one red leather jacket of yours that one is wicked hot.”
