They’re no Lie-Nielsen, but they’re a big improvement from the harbor freight special I had been using. The biggest selling point was the inspection report of sole flatness and blade hardness. Although I was fairly disappointed that the low angle blade lost part of it’s temper in sharpening and that it wasn’t rectified. The blades were pretty sharp, but they still needed a little honing but that was all! “Failed” burl epoxy turning blank. Learned something important about the process: So my pour was perfectly bubble free, I work on something else and by the time it sets it’s a raging bubble fest. So apparently the bottom end-grain drew up the liquid epoxy, displacing air upwards and thus ruining my perfect pour.
