Creating and presenting radio shows since 2016. Jack Watkinson presented "UEAs Lovely Days" for four years at University - a show focusing on soul, funk, disco and happiness. On his year studying abroad, he became the Musical Director of KSFS Radio at San Francisco State University. In San Francisco, he also presented “The Zen Zone” where, as well as continuing to explore his passion for finding niche and incredible music, he interviewed students from all over the world (see below). Throughout the pandemic, Jack presented shows from his shed, for a show called "Ice Elation", which was hugely successful across Mixcloud and became his creative salvation, solidifying his deep ambition of working in radio professionally. ECLECTRICITY VOL. 1:
Recorded a brand new radio show with my dear friend Ben a few weeks back. It was so much fun. The music that has moved us over the last few months.🏊♂️ Ben was also the first guest on my show in San Francisco and came up with the name “Ice Elation” (and Eclectricity).
Jack: "Here is the first episode of a new radio adventure for me and my dear friend Ben. A show born out of love and an idea having had dinner at his flat every week since June. The idea was to go back and forth and play the songs that have shaped our days, that we have connected with and that have moved us. Click play to hear over two hours of eclectic music, with wholesome and funny conversations throughout, featuring Sean Lock, Norm MacDonald, Marc Rebillet, Bruce Lee, Terry Alderton and Matthew McConaughey. This is only the beginning..."
Ben: "Whatever you're doing, whether it be doing the dishes, scrolling on Instagram, (half) watching T.V, we want you to enjoy these carefully and lovingly curated songs that hold special places in our hearts. Even if one of you just thinks to yourself: 'Hm, that was pretty good,' and resumes your activity, we have done our job. Sit back, listen, and enjoy. We love you."

DAY 5: I use this day to promote my latest show - usually composing a post with contextual artwork that had moved me that week. I have done this since my very first radio show in 2016.

"And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for UEAs Lovely Days will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever"
- Revelations 22:5
In September 2015, two great forces connected, creating a new star whose energy would radiate throughout the universal sound waves. Hailing from Bedfordshire and Ealing, West London these two emerald ducklings have now entered their final form of crystal gold music eagles. No matter how much sleep, no matter the physical condition we have put ourselves in. The one guiding light has always been the radio show. Following the star has bought us from Jaipur to Istanbul, Slough to Brooklyn, Nashville straight to Sao Paulo. Then back to Norwich. Of all the funk pies we've served, lathered in funk sauce, the spiritual zen, the analysis of daily objects. It all comes down to this. Tune in, enter the church for we will be spreading the word of love, music and happiness for the last time. Wearing gowns of silk and pink cashmere. Ray Charles on the Organ. A choir consisting of Andrea Bocelli. Sister Sledge. Earth, Wind and Fire. Daryl Hall & John Oates. Quincy Jones as Arranger. All in the Norwich Cathedral. The Phoenix has risen yet it must become one with the earth through turning into magical musical ash which spreads across the land. Go forth and spread the word. Preheat the oven cos we're coming home.
Demo for the final series of UEAs Lovely Days.

The Zen Zone Air Check:
The first link I am going to share with you is a 2 minute “Air Check” of one of the most popular episodes of “The Zen Zone” for KSFS Radio. It features an interview with Marco Chin Wang, a 19 international exchange student thousands of miles from his home in Hong Kong. We discuss music, and life in America as foreign exchange students. He also shares context to his song request, expressing how it reminds him of his first love. He later thanked me for having him on the air and proclaimed it was one of the best things he has done. Marco is one of 20 guests that I have had on so far on my radio show in San Francisco.
