Deserved Better Prelims: Jack (Jack & Joker)

"To be fair I’m only halfway through the series but Jack was not deserving of the trauma and betrayal he received thus far. The guy is basically a saint and his life’s goal is to start a school for underprivileged children. Thus far I’ve learned his parents committed suicide in hopes of eliminating their debt for him but the insurance didn’t pay out. He was nearly sent to jail for a crime he didn’t commit. He was forced to work for a shady debt collector as essentially a hired goon. And when he’s finally out from under the boss’s thumb his grandma gets poisoned and he has to then go back to debt collecting to pay off her medical bills. Not to mention having his savings swiped by a friend. Basically the man is a sweetheart but he’s just getting a terrible hand dealt to him at every turn.:

We're under a month away from the Jack & Joker special episode!!

So, I will dissect the 14-second trailer like any normal person would do.

First, this shot of the ceremony. In Western wedding traditions, the position Hoy is standing in suggests that he's Joke's best man. Obviously, this is Thailand, so idk if that assumption holds any ground, but it's fun to think about (and we can ignore the fact that we can't see anyone standing behind Jack right now).

And then this?? The earnest and utterly in-love look Jack gives Joke??? UGH. You can tell he's been dying to say the words for MONTHS. My headcanon is that they've been wearing the rings like a promise until they've settled into their domestic life and recovered from the aftermath of Boss's abuse. It feels natural that Jack would be the one to propose because you know Joke won't unless he knows for sure that Jack wants to be with him forever (a product of his lingering insecurities).

And then my JOKE. I've seen some other people describe the look on his face as disbelieving, but honestly, it looks more like quiet acceptance. It's like he knew it was coming and was just waiting for it to happen. He looks at Jack like he knows this proposal is a formality — that Jack wouldn't leave his side either way — and I am here for this character development. Joke deserves to feel worthy of love. T_T

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if Joke cries about it later because the words are such a relief to hear.

I'll never stop talking about this frame. It's so perfect for them. T_T I also love that Nang is officiating their wedding haha.

I'm already predicting tears (my own and J&J's).

In conclusion, Jack and Joke are in love and they deserve to be loud about it. Thank you.

No listen I don't want Thame to have beef with Earn I want Jun to have beef with him.

I mean it won't happen but I'd lowkey love to see a scenario where, after they got closer, Jun somehow learns about how Po got treated by his ex, thinks back about the hurtful words he once said to him, apologizes and becomes Earn's n.1 hater almost to a point it's ridiculous. He tripped? Must be Earn's fault. The coffee is too bitter? Earn's fault. Climate change? Earn's fault.

ThamePo's biggest strength is that there are no "grandiose" declarations of love. With shows that involve "not ordinary" people, you would see instances of larger scale confessions, foreign trips, billboard declarations, etc. Sure, they look very romantic but at the end of the day, those exist in our fantasies only.

Here you have late night phone calls, walks with your crush, talking about anything and everything under the sun, sharing stupid selfies, texting about your day, sharing drinks, spending time with each other and most importantly, communicating and being honest with your feelings. Sure Thame is an idol but the most we've seen him use that position is to serenade his crush over the phone.

These are the things that most of us actually do when we are attracted to someone. So, that's why these simple things feel even more romantic.

It's the way Thame just waited at Po's way home to make sure he reaches home safely. It's the way he keeps on taking tiny bits of advices from Pepper and tries to apply it to his relationship. It's the way he does not want to burden Po with the MV work because he knows Po already has a lot on his plate. It's the way he, not so subtly, conveys his jealousy to Po. It's the way he looks at Po with such adoration in his eyes. It's the way he lights up at the mere mention of Po. It's the way he never fails to make sure Po knows he is important to him.

Its Thame's first time loving and Po's first time being loved right

cause that hug during the last scene felt so comfortable and just so right and the fact that thame despite all the things he was facing he did not forget about po at all and said that yes his work was important but po was important too, he dropped that movie ticket but picked it up back, he went to po and apologized, he kept his promise about the movie date they have been planning for so long, thame loved po in the rightest way and if this is not love then i don't know what is.

Sorry, I know he gets in the middle of the romance, but I just like him so much.

Po may not be the right man for him, but there is certainly someone out there just for Jun.
