I’m currently thinking about an AU where the Justice League confuse Danny for Jason.

Like, they know Batman’s second Robin met an unfortunate end, & now his newest partner is the ghost of an upbeat, scrawny, teenage boy.

Excuse them, for thinking the ghost being Batman’s dead son was more believable then Batman somehow having picked up not just another stray, but a dead one. How did he even do that?

Bonus points if Jason is very much so resurrected already, but none of the bats told the justice league because apparently Gotham’s newest crime lord, who’s 6’ whatever & built like a brick shithouse, isn’t obviously the same malnourished little kid that used to say “Robin gives me magic!” & literally died. Who knew?

Summoning au where Danny and Dani jokingly tries to summon a random superhero, and it works.

That's not the problem, though. No, the problem was that nearly the whole Justice League were in the same room and clearly the spell wasn't specific enough cause now he had a bunch of heros packed like sardines into one of his parents sub basements and the reverse spell wasn't working.

He can't just let them out cause they would have to walk through another sub basement which happened to be where his parents stored thier torture devices and he didn't know how to explain that to a bunch of heros without making it sound like his parents were villians.

Oh, ancients, Danny just now realized his parents are villains.

Danny didn't think this through. To be fair, he wasn't expecting it to work at all.

Danny: Don't talk to me.

Jason: What did you want me to do? Let that crazy priest exorcise you?

Danny: It wouldn't have worked.

Jason: That's not a good excuse!

Danny: You can't tell me what to do, you're not my dad!

Jason (waving adoption papers): Yes I am!

Danny: I hate you!

Jason: Go to your room!

Danny: I'm already in my room!

Danny slams the door to his room. Jason walks around the apartment and calls Bruce.

Bruce: Hi Jason, everything ok?

Jason: I hate you and you're not my dad!

Jason hangs up the phone before Bruce can get a word in.

Bruce: What did I do???

The next morning.

Jason: Hey kid, made you pancakes.

Danny: Thanks dad, I love you!

Jason (texting Bruce): Hi dad, I love you. Have a good day.

not to sound insane. but. my college roommate just randomly self-published a book that’s very obviously thinly-veiled self-insert fanfiction. which is fine. whatever. i am reading it to be supportive only to find out i am in it. it’s set in college and the roommate is literally me, her college roommate. i thought i was projecting but the character is literally named my childhood nickname. so. what am i supposed to do now.

Why is batman after him and promised that he will find his murderer, he was not murdered.

Yeah Danny just does his thing and goes to college he can just help people and fly away from batman.

Danny hadn’t planned to be pregnant at 15, but when it came down to it, it was the only option to save Ellie. Also, apparently being a pregnant ghost means all of his usual enemies were now babying him to the extreme. It also meant that when he thoughtlessly mentioned how his favorite hero was Martian Manhunter, his ghost friends decided to kidnap Martian Manhunter straight from the watchtower, and bring him to Danny.

Meanwhile, the watchtower is in chaos after Martian Manhunter was kidnapped by beings claiming to be sent by the ghost king to retrieve him.

Listen, Danny adored his new dads. He did! And he had planned on eventually telling them about the whole reincarnation “I was originally the ghost king but I needed more stable familial bonds to avoid going crazy so Clockwork yeeted me into this body so I could have a family” talk, eventually.

However, disappearing from his dad’s arms and reappearing in a summoning circle, surrounded by confused cultists was not how he planned to introduce them to this.

In front of the entire Justice League, Dan (who was in a 25 year old clone body) along with a de-aged/ghost aged Danny fall out of one of Clockwork's clock portals. They'd just gone through something extremely traumatizing, likely the deaths of their friends and family and the destruction of their entire dimension. So Clockwork, like the true neutral that he is, only saved Dan and Danny and threw them into an alternate universe for safekeeping. Upon seeing the Justice League, Dan bursts into tears because he's had a long day.

Also, Danny, therefore Dan, are either alternates or doppelgangers for Damian Wayne.

So Batman witnesses a man who looks like his teenage son step out of a time-themed portal holding a child that resembles him. This man then proceeded to look at him and burst into tears.

Okay, I have A Thought.

So I've seen around a few times that Danny's heart stops and freaks out people with superhearing, particularly Superman and his family. Que the freaking out because this child's heart has stopped and they haven't even seemed to notice.

But what if Danny keeping his heart beating takes effort? He has to focus on it at least a little all the time to seem more human. But if he's relaxed because he's, say, gaming over at Tucker's, he stops paying attention to if his heart is beating or not, and it stops. Sort of like how if you're walking around in a place you don't know in the middle of the night, you're tense and worried, but once you make it to a little area or a place you know better you stop being so nervous.

All that to say, having a beating heart is a stress response for halfas. And, like any other stress response, having it be constantly active can have long term negative effects. This was discovered by Frostbite shortly before Danny told his parents about being a halfa, and in fact influenced that decision. It turned out well, and Danny's heart began to stop more and more frequently while at home, to the point that it rarely ever beats at home now.

So que Phantom joining the League through some shenanigan or another, and together they're working to dismantle the Anti-Ecto Acts. The League knows he's powerful, but he's paranoid enough that he hasn't told them about the whole "half dead" thing. He's wandering around the Watchtower, chatting with Superman as they walk past a window that looks out into space. Danny's chatting about his weekend plans with Sam and Tuck, Superman's chatting about his upcoming visit to Ma and Pa's farm, and suddenly the kid's heart just stops.

And Superman freaks out. Because there is a child right next to him having a heart attack and seemingly not knowing.

He rushes Phantom to the medbay, only for his heart to be beating again? And the kid looks really freaked out and confused now. So he apologizes, explains what he heard, or rather didn't hear, and asks if it's an arrhythmia or something.

And now Danny, poor, socially awkward, barely a sophomore in high school Danny, gets to explain that sometimes, if he's really happy and content and feels safe, his heart stops and it is actually a good thing.
