I can't believe that I didn't realise Duskwood's ending was foreshadowed so early on despite playing it for the nth and at this point it's just funny to me ( ; ∀ ;)

AaaAAaaAa I got comments and insight in the last post I made which was a Duskwood theory about how Phil got Jennifer's bracelet and I couldn't be happier :D

But before that:

SPOILERS: DUSKWOOD EPISODE 10

So, Digi from the comments made a point about how Hannah recognised the bracelet because Jennifer was wearing it when she was run over.

Two things came to mind:

Jennifer and Hannah knew each other somewhat before the accident, which means Hannah would have seen Jennifer wearing the bracelet and therefore recognised it

Digi made another point about how the police return personal items after determining that it isn't key evidence, soooo Jennifer's bracelet could have still ended up with Michael..? Or I may have misunderstood her comment 🤔 (I'm sorry Digi, I'm just really dumb ಥ‿ಥ)

Anyways, about speculation no. 1:

It was said that Jennifer always came round Duskwood during the Pine Glade Festival. Michael Hanson even stated that she liked the fireworks which appeared at the very end of the event.

Jennifer even stayed over at her dad's place whenever she was in Duskwood (Michael told the police that Jennifer didn't like the way her room was decorated, remember that?)

So, there wasn't anything about when the Hansons divorced but by the time of Jennifer's accident they'd already done so.

Let's assume that it's been a couple of years since the divorce and that Jennifer stays with her mum in Ashview Hills, which is about an hour drive away from Duskwood.

Now, Jennifer must have gone to the Pine Glade Festival a dozen times at least, right?

I mean, her parents could have taken her when she was younger and (Hannah stated that Jennifer was already an adult by the time of the accident) she could have attended by herself already.

It's not really surprising that Jennifer and Hannah might have crossed paths at some point.

Picture this from the game:

That night, ten years ago, Hannah and Amy had just finished viewing the fireworks display but on their way home, Amy realised that she'd forgotten something back there, in the spot where they were viewing.

But Hannah was tired out, maybe even tipsy, and so they drive to Richy and ask him for help.

But Richy was also tired out and definitely tipsy, and so he gives them the keys to the AMC Gremlin, right?

Hannah and Amy go driving round the outskirts of Duskwood because that's where they watched the fireworks and what do you know?

Jennifer is there too, unfortunately.

What was she doing there?

Coming back from watching the fireworks display.

I don't know, guys ┐(´д`)┌, spec no. 1 isn't really that far-fetched ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So, I've seen a lot of people theorising about why Phil had Jennifer's bracelet and the simple answer which came to me in the shower is that,

Phil found the bracelet in the Aurora.

Okay, hold up, just think about it ┐( ˘_˘)┌

In our discussion with Jake, there was a choice in which we speculated that whoever brought the bracelet to the pawnshop must have had money problems,

A couple of shite goes down *cough Cleo and Thomas breaking into the Aurora cOUGH*, and we find out that Phil's been closing down the Aurora an hour earlier due to lack of customers after Hannah disappeared and the dead body in the forest turned up.

Now, I then rechecked the timeline and it didn't fit (´д`)

The bracelet had already been brought to the pawnshop prior to the corpse's discovery and Hannah's kidnapping.

So I thought it over again and went back a little earlier.

A decade earlier, when Michael Hanson lost his daughter and gave the bar to Phil.

Now, Mr. Hanson had given up at this point regarding Jennifer's case and as we would later learn, he walked into the forest and was never seen again.

And it clicked with me (sort of 🤔)

Michael already gave up the bar, gave up on finding his daughter's killer and, sadly, on his life (｡•́︿•̀｡)

Now, picture this,

Surely, he still had to work while he awaited news about his daughter's case,

But he couldn't stop thinking about it obviously.

And on the day Jennifer disappeared, which was the day of the Pine Glade Festival, she'd gone to see him in the Aurora,

Either for a quick hello, to see how he was doing or to tell him that she was heading to the festival,

Just, for whatever reason.

And she accidentally leaves her bracelet

It falls off, she doesn't realise it, but when Michael cleans up the Aurora after work, he finds it,

And he realises later on that it's the last and latest thing he has of Jennifer before she's killed.

The last thing his daughter left behind for him, whether accidentally or otherwise.

Of course, he'd keep it close to him, wherever he goes,

And we get back to where Michael still has to work while waiting for news of Jennifer's case.

Nothing comes.

Not a word from the police.

Not a word from the killer.

The case reached a dead end and so has Michael's hope.

Then he walks into the forest.

And leaves behind the note,

Giving the Aurora to Phil (who Michael wished he'd hired earlier so he could've picked up Jennifer from the festival and possibly saved her)

And the bracelet.

Now, this is the part where you ask

"But J, if he'd treasured the bracelet so much, why didn't he take it with him?"

Well, my dear, I can only speculate ┐(´ー｀)┌, so here are my thoughts.

Michael Hanson was done.

He's run out. He's tired. He's done.

He gives up.

Everything.

His bar, his life,

And, finding his daughter's killer.

But the bracelet,

He'd left it behind so someone else can do everything he couldn't in his place.

I mean, take a look at the bar,

Man gave it to Phil, a guy he hired a few weeks ago to help around because he couldn't work properly anymore.

Michael entrusted his work to Phil and,

In the case of the bracelet, he entrusted finding Jennifer's killer to whoever found it.

He left it behind to remind people that his daughter, Jennifer Hanson, was wrongly robbed of her life and too soon.

Anyways, TL;DR

Phil had Jennifer's bracelet because Michael Hanson left it in the Aurora
