Officially not a fan of the snow. It's so bright...and gross — ugh, I have a migraine. Aspirin? Does anyone have aspirin? Or maybe that's a bad choice if my heart's racing...

Note
We don’t know how careful you are with drugs, Izzy, we just know that you do them and do them often. Fortunately for you, we won’t be messing with that too much this week, but you still have a job to do. Your task for the next seven days is to mix drugs as often as possible. We want a constant slurry of toxic substances in your system. Hopefully you’ll be too high to notice any unpleasant side effects!

IZZY MORENO, who is often said to resemble CRYSTAL REED, is 17 YEARS OLD and originally comes from COLUMBIA. SHE is A PART OF THE WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM and has come to Arlington for protection. Unfortunately, the role of IZZY is currently CLOSED.
"And she said, 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device.' And in the master's chambers, they gathered for the feast. They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast."
IZZY MORENO IS OFTEN DESCRIBED AS DISTRACTED
If there was one place Izzy never wanted to go back to, it was Columbia. The whole country was absolutely awful. It was hot, it was crowded, and there were a few too many people out to kill her back in her home town. Actually, there were only a few Colombians who wanted her dead, but any amount of murderers after your hide were far too many. Izzy wasn’t an awful person, though. Of course not. She’d just gotten her nose in a place it didn’t belong, and now she was in trouble. A short while ago, while looking for a dealer, Izzy had accidentally stumbled across a horrendous crime committed by the most wanted drug trafficker in her city. It had been brutal. Izzy had watched—eyes wide in horror—as the man raped and murdered a poor woman on the street, heroin needle still hanging from her arm. She’d obviously just needed a fix (much like Izzy) but now she was lying dead with her underwear ripped down to her ankles. It had been terrifying. Izzy had quickly been swept up into the Witness Protection Program and transferred to Arlington. In addition, she’d given up drugs immediately, terrified of a similar fate happening to her. She’d long since detoxed and started going to meetings to help her stay on track. But frankly, it wasn’t enough. The memories haunted Izzy. She could still see the devastating slaughter of that poor woman fresh in her mind; she could still hear her last breath. Izzy told everyone she was recovered, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. Izzy had gotten back on drugs ages ago, and now she couldn’t stop.
THEIR MOST NOTEWORTHY CONNECTIONS INCLUDE
MATTHEW ZYER: Izzy had met Matt at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting when she’d still been sober and he’d just been getting clean. They’d gotten to talking and before she really knew what was happening, she’d agreed to be his sponsor. As his sponsor, Izzy felt a certain sense of responsibility for Matt, a kind of maternal concern—or at least, that was what she was supposed to be feeling for him. In reality, the love that Izzy felt for Matt was anything but maternal. As his sponsor, their relationship was supposed to stay strictly platonic—but then, she wasn’t supposed to go back to the drugs either, and she’d already done that. What was one more broken rule?
ZOE CASTILLA: Izzy loved Zoe more than just about anyone in the house but for all the wrong reasons. Zoe was her supplier. While the other girl got on her case all the time for the drugs she was buying, at least the other girl was still selling them to her, and it was for that reason alone that Izzy actually liked being around her. Hanging out with Zoe meant a massive dopamine rush in her brain and a new needle to inject into her body. It was Izzy’s favorite thing in the world, even if it was terrible for her.
TINO LUCIANO: There was something off about Tino, and Izzy knew exactly what it was. Or… she knew basically what was wrong, she knew what the look in his eyes meant. It was the same look she had in her own eyes every second of every day. Izzy could tell that Tino was haunted by the past just like she was, even if she didn’t know what terrible thing he had seen. She could see that there was a heavy weight on his shoulders, and for that reason, Izzy found herself drawn towards him. They were the same, deep inside, even if neither of them would admit it. It was comforting to have someone who obviously went through a similar situation that she had, and it was starting to be that Izzy couldn’t feel at ease without latching onto Tino. He had become her safety blanket, whether he knew it or not.
SOMEONE KNOWS THEIR SECRET — WILL THEY SPILL?
ZOE CASTILLA has informed the Blacklist of Izzy’s secret. But how did she find out?
→ Zoe knows about Izzy’s secret simply because of how often the other girl came to her for drugs. It was practically daily, and needless to say, Zoe was a little worried. However, there was no way to stop Izzy, really, even if Zoe desperately wanted to; so she told on her. Maybe blackmail would be the push she needed to stop her reckless behavior.
Izzy has spilled to the Blacklist about what JONAS RENARD is hiding. How’d she come to find out about this?
→ Izzy and Jonas had both been high as kites when he told her about being adopted. He, naturally, didn’t remember anything about the evening, even though he had cried his eyes out in Izzy’s arms. Izzy, however, remembered everything, her body being far more accustomed to the drugs. She told on Jonas not because she hated him, per say, but because she felt that he need to be less fake and a lot more real. Hopefully some blackmail would inspire him to do that.
