don’t let this world’s obsession with youth rob you of the big and small joys of adulthood. i spent most of my teenage years and early twenties struggling with my mental health. but there’s no timeline for happiness. for many people, getting older and growing up means having more chances to redefine their values, find their path and stability in life. some people go to college in their forties. some people marry in their sixties. some people recover better after their thirties. there’s no timeline for this kind of stuff. your childhood and teenage years won’t be the only chance you have at experiencing freedom and joy.

Every day YouTube recommends me these fancams of Johnny Depp epically pwning his ex wife with facts and logic and livestreams of the court proceedings and so on with literally millions of views on each video. obviously sokka is like, the platonic ideal of an Older Brother. and katara and azula are both suuuch Little Sisters. and it’s clear that toph and aang are both Only Children. but zuko.... does not have older brother energy. at all. so I think that means that lu ten, at some point, must’ve been around a lot, and was the older brother figure that both zuko and azula looked up to. and that’s why zuko is, in fact, the ultimate Middle Child.
