ArtJam, March 29 - April 16, will feature works of more than 125 artists. I'll present my latest paintings, never before exhibited. Proceeds will help support the artists and ArtSpace programs. By buying art or donating money you support HomeFront’s ArtSpace, where women from homeless shelter in Trenton NJ can evolve their creative passion.
“By encouraging creativity and self-expression in a safe and nurturing environment, our goal is to rebuild the souls of individuals suffering from poverty, homelessness, and family abuse” …“we believe that the creative process involved in self-expression helps people resolve conflicts and problems, develop inter-personal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight. We encourage women to tap into their creativity, which often opens doors to new ways of thinking and reveals their inner voice” notes a HomeFront information statement.

Izabela Katreniok employs style of Eastern European religious iconography, reaching with its help not into the mysticism of Christianity but into her own private, fleeting past.

IZABELA KATRENIOK was born in Poland. Studied painting at The Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, graduated with a Masters in Fine Art in 1994. A student of Professor JERZY NOWOSIELSKI. Her master was the creator of an original, independent and pioneering introduction of the icon into the very hub of modernity. In her own way, she continues his legacy. However, her simplification goes rather toward pictograms. More recently, the depiction of the human figure is her primary interest in which the apparent simplicity, typical for icons, requires the courage of perspective and compositional solutions, and also often intertwined with the boldness of a erotic subtext. She is attached to the toned down palette, which gives additional depth. As a graphic designer she often used her paintings as illustrations. Her works are in many private collections.
Here comes the holiday season! Are you consider buying the original gift?
