Due to a few choice covers for the longest time I thought that Dracula was about Dracula sexily abducting a girl to his castle.
Yep, the Dracula covers really over-represent the amount of Dracula seductively snacking on a scantily-clad blonde lady in his castle. And really under-represent the amount of typing, trains, document review and recipe blogging.

"My mother raised me to understand that my gifts that God gave me were not about me. To use them to be effective in the world, to help somebody else's journey. So thank you for teaching me how to live, how to love, how to give. For every trans, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming human who ever was told you couldn't be, you couldn't be seen, this is for you."
Openly non-binary actor, J. Harrison Ghee during their acceptance speech for winning the Tony for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical for their role as Jerry/Daphne in the hit revival of "Some Like It Hot," a musical based on the 1959 film starring Marilyn Monroe.

i keep wondering what billy wilder and jack lemmon would think about trans readings of some like it hot. every time i watch it and think about it, it just seems so clear to me that while it's absolutley a bit to joe/josephine, it isn't one to jerry/daphne. it is, ostensibly, about two guys who dress in drag and join a girls' band to escape the mob; but while joe is happy to ditch the josephine persona as soon as he can to pursue sugar, "jerry" falls much more easily into becoming daphne, into spending time with the girls, looking and sounding less nervous in a woman's swimsuit than they had been in a man's suit. "jerry" is the one to jump to suggest they join the girls' band in the first place. the nerves come back when they actually arrive at the station and see all the girls, and it's really easy to read this as fear of being "found out". i think it's really interesting that "jerry" comes up with the name daphne, given that it's not the name they suggest at the start of the movie - geraldine, a girl's version of their given name. like, they had time to come to the conclusion they wanted to be called daphne, and went with this instead.
certainly, "jerry" is interested in sugar at first, but that interest drops pretty quickly when "jerry" becomes daphne, becomes one of the girls, and her attempts to out joe seem to have little to do with competition for sugar's affections and more to do with irritation at joe's treatment of sugar & general behavior that we've seen through their friendship (tl;dr joe is not a good friend). even having dealt with the sexism that comes her way as daphne, there isn't really a point in time where daphne reverts back to "jerry" - until the end of the movie, the very end, the last thing "jerry" says. essentially coming out to osgood (her love interest) that she is "a man". and when osgood has no negative reaction to this, she's perpelxed. the film ends there, leaving it open to interpretation, but to me it is really clear that this is a movie as much about daphne discovering herself as a woman as it is about joe & sugar's romance and the main two's attempts to escape violence from the mob.

Hello everyone
I’m Malk I’m 14 years old but I am feeling that am 70 years😔
My parents took great care of us, giving us everything they had, and my childhood was wonderful to some extent.
I lived through four wars, the latest being in 2021, during which we lost everything: our warm home and my mom's office where she worked in digital marketing.
My dad is one of the owners of the Jewel Tower, but my family decided to leave Gaza for Turkey in 2022 because the tower hadn't been built yet, and to provide a better life for us.
My dad couldn't leave Gaza, so he returned before the war because my grandfather is sick and needs care. I wish I were with my dad because I fear losing him.
The past few months have been the hardest for us and our family.
I hope you can help me by sharing the link and donating so I can get my family from Gaza🙏🏻🙏🏻

I think one of the kindest things you can do for people with various mental health struggles is just... let people back into your life after they've been absent for a while.
Making friends as an adult is so fucking hard already and isolating yourself from other people is a very common symptom of depression, anxiety, burnout, ocd, trauma, grief, etc. Which means that someone will do the hard work of recovery/healing and resurface back into a world where their previous friends have written them off because they stopped showing up.
So if you know someone where you're like "yeah we could have been better friends but they fell off the map a bit" and that person suddenly reaches out, or starts showing up to events even though you kind of forgot they were still in the group chat... well they may have been Going Through It and you don't actually have to punish them for their absence you can just be glad that they're back.
