I recently did this and it took me a while to gain my bearings and heal from the whole ‘I need to be productive every second’ thing but it’s worth it! You’re worth it! Take the time for yourself! Do the things you wanna do! Have fun!

I did it today! I worked up my courage and quit my job that’s been sucking out my soul and making me sick from the stress.

Since I started there 3 years ago, it’s gotten worse and worse and the company I worked for kept getting more chaotic and despite poor numbers, kept raising expectations. It was like watching an avalanche in slow motion as everything fell apart.

I’m moving on to greener pastures, and am hopeful about having and building my own life instead of either being at work or being too exhausted from work to do anything.

I have open weekends again! I haven’t had a weekend that I haven’t requested PTO for in years. I have time I don’t know what to do with- except I do. I want to get back to reading and writing and finding the joy in life.

Maybe this is unrealistic, but boy, does it feel great right now!

I'll be using the feeling prompt, "the cracking of ice underfoot". I'll be using it for chapter fifteen of Transcendants: A Light in the Darkness (book 1)

Marley took another step forward and she widened her eyes in fear as the ice cracked. Gregory widened his eyes and before he could move, the ice cracked underneath him and he fell into the water with a shout.

"GREGORY!" Kaitlin screamed. "Grab him!" Natalia exclaimed as Charlotte and Demetrius leapt forward and grabbed Gregory by the wrists to keep him from being fully swept under the ice.

Paige widened her eyes as she heard crackling underneath her feet. Before she could jump away, the ice cracked and broke and she fell into the water.

"PAIGE!" Marley screamed, her eyes widening. Paige kicked and flailed her arms frantically as she was pulled through the water by the current.
