Why the iPhone notch isn’t really really an issue!!
The notch was a bit of a controversal design element when iPhone X released in 2017. Since then, the notch has only become more of an issue with Android phones loosing the notch. But in loosing the notch, there are quite a few sacrifices. The main sacrifice is security with biometrics. FaceID is the most simple and secure way to unlock iPhone and approve purchases. In loosing the notch, facial recognition becomes far easier to hack, slower, and less secure because it is only using the selfie camera. Another thing that you loose is some selfiie camera quality and cool features across the OS. For example, on iPhone 11 and iPhone 12, the front camera has night mode on the selfie camera and 4K video recording at 60fps. On iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Pro, you also get access to Animoji in FaceTime and iMessage, which uses the FaceID TrueDepth sensors to turn yourself into an Emoji.
