but you know what's really interesting to me? how the conversation around sex work moved from 'sex work is not work' to 'sex work is not empowering to women'
i very distinctly remember swerfs bending over backwards to 'prove' sex work is not real work and now they've almost entirely switched the narrative to 'sw is bad because it's not empowering' and it's so silly because who cares girlboss lol no work is going to be empowering capitalism is not empowering what are you even talking about
but it is interesting how they're adapting to the environment they had such a hard time selling people on the idea that work is not work and they just rephrased the bigotry to appeal to broader audiences

on top of that blake genuinely isn't the monster they're trying to make her out to be
most of her shit has been known for ages like everyone been knew she got married on a plantation and said she wants a tr*nny child to share shoes and make up with lol and that's the worst they can dig up on her which is not a lot considering there are celebrities outed for human trafficking and sexually abusing children I'm struggling to give a shit about a woman who was once unkind to a journalist
what's more being an out of touch rich white woman *is* her brand literally she markets herself as a real life serena vanderwoodsen that's why people like her that's who she targets she's never been known for anything else
and with that the worst they can dig up is a random hairstylist being like 'oh yeah she's such a bitch i did her hair for a movie and she didn't even make small talk and also once she invited the whole crew to her house and spent all night making cookies so her kitchen was a mess' insane work
none of this is to say i love blake I'm actually not fond of her at all but not even the worst women out there deserve to be sexually harassed 'no but she sucks she's annoying she's cringe' yea i agree and she should be punished as a person not as a woman
a lot of you are functionally illiterate because there's no way anyone with two braincells would look at a man suddenly doing his best to attach his brand to feminism and convince the public how much he cares about women while simultaneously clearly being excluded by the cast of his movie and then think 'wow he must be the Best Man Ever'

I've seen a few interviews where he's gushing about how it's so important to let women speak and put their voices to the forefront and yet he's literally not doing that???? you bought the rights to the story and appointed yourself the director and then ignored a whole cast full of women to go do your own self promo like???? are we stupid
and btw his whole performance plus a bunch of people suddenly 'remembering' that blake didn't kiss their ass enough when they met her once 10 years ago was so obviously a pr set up to make justing look good when the lawsuit comes out that i called it as soon as it started like that's such a tried and true recipe in Hollywood you genuinely have to be blind deaf and living in a hole to miss it
a lot of you are functionally illiterate because there's no way anyone with two braincells would look at a man suddenly doing his best to attach his brand to feminism and convince the public how much he cares about women while simultaneously clearly being excluded by the cast of his movie and then think 'wow he must be the Best Man Ever'

i've been ruined by the phrase "i'm sorry women" i'm literally addicted to it. bumped into a guy on the train and automatically said "i'm sorry women" with a completely straight face. he didn't even ask me to repeat myself. one look at my face and he knew i was beyond help.

Pisses me off how good Shakespeare actually is. Like yeah he's actually that good. People hype him up like he's the best English writer ever, and yeah he's actually an S+ tier writer.

(through gritted teeth) sometimes what's good for your mental health isn't another do nothing day or a little treat sometimes what's good for you is putting in some of the work. Not all of it at once but sometimes you have to finish that essay or at least take the next step or you have to clean your room or at least dust the shelves or you gotta do the laundry or at least put it all in the hamper and it's not fun and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks and it sucks but you have to because i read a post on the internet that told me that's what being nice to yourself is sometimes
