JW Francis "Gold" (Official Music Video)
JW Francis “Gold” (Official Music Video)
Dreamy and nostalgic for a time before existence is “Gold” by JW Francis. It’s glamorous in a haunting kind of way and yet the backing band also has a sort of basement punk vibe to it but JW Francis comes off as more of a well read individual then hardcore. “Gold” marks the seventh DSP release and is indeed a mysterious new track by JW Francis.

Valley Girl "Grey Car"
Valley Girl “Grey Car”
Inspired by the Netflix short lived Sherman Oaks based TV show Love, “Grey Car” by Valley Girl”, perfectly summarizes the coming of age story. Dreamy 80s vibes and a soft breathy vocal performance brings a sexy vibe to what it looks like is a lemon of a car. “Grey Car” reminds me of getting stoned and driving around Los Angeles with the warm summer haze of the valley in the early evening. Very…

bandanna "Epilogue"
bandanna “Epilogue”
Dreamy and atmospherically paced “Epilogue” by bandanna is the kind of relaxed song you need to hear right after the holiday season. The soft vocal timbre and easy going vibes carry for most of the tune. An abrupt change adds excitement to “Epilogue” bringing it to a more engaging level. Although from Tallahassee the sonic qualities have a certain midwestern emo tinge to them. It’s got a bit of…

Arson Daily "Signs"
Arson Daily “Signs”
Fat guitar tones and surf rock vibes that drew me in initially support an easy to listen to vocal timbre that combines elements of Cage and Arctic Monkeys that I’m super into. “Signs” by Arson Daily is artistically something I’d compare to bands you’d hear at festivals like Firefly, Bonnaroo or other places you’d find someone like My Morning Jacket or Portugal the Man.  It’s easy to listen to but…

Aaron Taos "Saborteur"
Aaron Taos “Saborteur”
It sounds like the alarm to waking up and it is as it blends in to focus. “Saboteur” follows Aaron Taos around his day to day in Los Angeles. The lyrics talk about following trends and feeling on the outside and they’re great. The lyrics are focused and come off in the right way. I can relate to this song and I think you’ll be able…

Maybird "In Technicolor"
Maybird “In Technicolor”
Maybird “In Technicolor” kind of sounds kind of similar to something off Innerspeaker but with a more indie aesthetic that I really dig. The music video is trippy and fun and fits the sounds. Maybird has a great track with “In Technicolor”, check it out below! Better yet hit the bong than watch it.

Casey Jo & The Friday Night Dads "Schrödinger’s Cat"
Casey Jo & The Friday Night Dads “Schrödinger’s Cat”
Casey Jo & The Friday Night Dads “Schrödinger’s Cat” is a raw rock and roll track that details a members brush with death at infancy with a fatal disease. It must feel good to be alive because while the lyrical content is intense the bluesy rock sounds remind me of having good times with friends at rock and roll or punk dives. The bassist takes a lead in the song that follows with a hot lead…

Morningbird "Do It Again"
Morningbird “Do It Again”
A pop rock collective Morningbird brings mellow summery vibes in winter  with “Do It Again”. Layered with textures from killer duel guitar leads, background vocals to percussion that keeps the listener in place. The bridge gives options and introduces gang vocals that are reminiscent of pop-punk acts. This is a great uplifting track despite the lyrics consisting of content that helps to relieve…

Dilan Jay first musician from Sri Lanka to land on the billboard charts
Dilan Jay first musician from Sri Lanka to land on the billboard charts
A collection of love songs that will bring a flutter to your heart, Dilan Jays performance is familiar and enjoyable. Drawing influence from pop and R&B there is versatility in the songwriting between the more excited “Oh Cherie” to the deeply romantic “Echo of My Soul”. Songs About Love and Other Stuff is a refreshing take on romance at the end of the decade. Stream it below!

Cave Flowers "Country Fan"
Cave Flowers “Country Fan”
Cave Flowers “Country Fan” aims for a spot on a label such as Thirty Tigers with their approach to songwriting and production. It’s a fun and raw performance that lends itself to good times and drinking in the sun. Its lyrics will tickle the fancies of even indie rockers because of the disenfranchised lyrics that are more raw and honest than some of the modern day country music. “Country Fan” to…

Hannah Connolly "House/Home"
Hannah Connolly “House/Home”
Organic and lovely, “House/Home” by Hannah Connolly is sweet and nostalgic. Sentimental lyrics accompanied by a brightly strummed harmony lead us through a narrative of heartache. Things that really drew me in were the pedal steel and piano hooks. “House/Home” is a lovely lullaby that is soothing me into winter and the leafs changing color. If you’re into quiet mornings with foggy windows and a…

JW Francis "Lofi"
JW Francis “Lofi”
Damn that guitar lick is so cool I want to tell all my friends about it. It’s like if Mac DeMarco or Rex Orange County got a much needed boost of energy and decided party a bit. Not as distorted or edgy as maybe The Strokes but still has a careless sex appeal that is awesome and also maybe because it’s lacking a certain edge the message is also way more positive. JW Francis “Lofi” is an indie…

"Lover" campaign
Protected: “Lover” campaign
Hey Jamie,
Heres my idea… $20 a day for however long you feel like is worth it. I want to target two sets of audiences, one Tennessee specific and one national both on Instagram and Facebook.
I want to pick only the best placements to get the most views and I was wondering if you had a phone specific edit of the “Lover” video?
I’d want to run the ads until a week before a song is released to…

Hi Jamie, I made this web page after our conversation to give you a brief overview of the nuts and bolts of targeting and running ads.
$5 a day aiming for Taylor Swift fans to view the video between 18-22 and
there are 4+ million potential social media fans
At $5 a day 213-615 will view this video depending on quality and engagement
Once you’ve selected your audience you’ll need to create your ad, as you can see you can use a video that’s already in existence, this might be good in case you want to funnel your audience to some more rocking tracks
Here is the content of your ad and also a chance to send them to streaming services with the “Listen Now” button.
… ads reset their metrics at the beginning of the month unless you alter their function but here are screenshots of some metrics which I like to go off of
Knowing that Facebook is generally an older audience, though there are still plenty of people using it, and that Instagram is younger it might be interesting to set up two different funnels for each and measure which ones work better
attached below are additional cases but at $20 a day, my suggestion is $5 a day and run multiple ad sets and then turn off the ones that aren’t working
To sum it up you often get out what you put in and a lot of times it makes sense to pay more upfront and then back off with data. A campaign that I found successful was where I created 15 ads at $5 a piece ($75 a day) and after 24 hours I shut off all but 4 ads ($20 a day). If the ads are generating revenue there is logic to just leaving them on. It all depends on what you’re comfortable with. This will probably be another conversation.
Another thing I can do for you is create a metadata template so when it comes time to deliver the tracks from my independent to a major I’ll have your codes all lined up as such.
The last thing I can do is help create a pr one sheet and deliver your tracks to influencers in advance of release.

Repenter "Skeletons"
Repenter “Skeletons”
Heavy and distorted bass licks are the first thing that drew me into Repenters new track “Skeletons” released on September 27th. The chorus hits and the change from confidence to more stretched thin sonically and emotionally brings “Skeletons” to a more personal level. A dark and dreamy vocal performance with plenty of melodic range and dynamics makes for a more engaging listen. Stream it below…

Tallbird "Not at All"
Tallbird “Not at All”
Showing an artistic story arc that is starting to form a linear story throughout the releases Sunburn Sad to now “Not at All”. “Not at All” brings a more joyful and confident sound that has only maybe been heard in the energetic pop-punk edition of “New Machine“. Lyrically this song speaks to your introverted side telling you it’s okay to go out and try. Wicked fun energy and vibes in “Not at…
