✨REBIRTH✨After awakening from a year and a half in lockdown, it seems we are at the beginning of a sort of collective rebirth. Everything has been stripped down and now we’re getting the opportunity to start fresh. Joyeur is taking advantage of this moment to hone in on exactly what path we want to take as we move forward; navigating how to reenter the world while still holding on to the valuable pieces of ourselves that have emerged from this space. In the ample time I’ve had to reflect, I’ve confronted a lack of self-trust in my writing, in my identity as a musician, and in my vocal expression. Getting to know myself better has been a great joy, but within that I’ve found places to heal and go deeper than ever. Its made me want to share a more raw, exposed and human side in my music. It’s made me want to create more room for my voice and to encourage my creative intuition. I’m happy Joyeur can be the platform for this. While Anna continues to focus on production behind the scenes, I am excited to take the reins a bit more and reveal this intimate side of myself. So yes, we’ll still dance, but we’ll be dancing with our shadows. Being a human is a continual growth cycle and this new collection of songs is a product of that.
