As the drought really gets going I’d like to give y’all a few recommendations to make the time more bearable.

Follow more people: if your dash is dead, then the simplest way to liven it up is to follow more blogs. Find them scrolling your followers, asking your mutuals for recommendations, or by surfing tags. And on top of this, lowering whatever standards you have for blogs you follow and interacting with the people you follow will also do a lot for keeping things interesting.

Surf tags: Maybe your dash is dead, but there may be good content in the tags! Check tags like #taylor swift #tswiftedit #candy swift and #taylurking for a start and you can see what tags people use there to find more tags to check! Make sure to set results to most recent to see the most up to date stuff. And while you’re there if you see someone posting a lot of stuff you like, maybe check them out to follow them!

Make content: If you find yourself sick of seeing all the same content or really wish you could see some specific content, get off your ass and make it yourself. Maybe it won’t be great at first, but it’s the drought and you have plenty of time to get better at making things (edits, graphics, gifs, whatever).

Archive blog: Another method for bringing more content into circulation is to archive blog. You can do this most easily on desktop, just go to the target blog’s url and add /archive to the end. Then go to whatever month/year you like and go to town reblogging things! You can do this with just about anyone’s blog and it’s fun to see what everyone was talking about at different times.

Explore other interests: The Taylor swift fandom is not the only fandom on tumblr, and I promise Taylor won’t be upset if you blog about something other than her and your followers will similarly get over it (though if you’re really concerned you can make a side blog). This allows you to follow a whole host of new blogs relevant to your other interests and is likely to be very effective at livening up your dash.

Finally, you can spend less time on tumblr: I’m not saying you should disappear like many people do, but if you’re used to spending hours on hours a day on here, consider limiting yourself to like 3 hours online. That means when you do come online you’ll have a lot of content to scroll through from what’s built up all day. In the same thread, you can break up the time you spend online so you’re not constantly on which allows at least a few posts to build up in your absence.
