posting from my phone because the site doesn't want to post on my laptop lol. shit happens, we ball.

I AM HERE BEARING MUSIC! another little something, this one being one that i worked on for quite a long time and never planned on doing anything with UNTIL I found it lurking in my files in flstudio and I figured I'd draw up a quick cover for it and drop it on here.

it's a fun little guitar piece, I recall being very proud of the vocal mixing at the time and I'm actually still quite happy with it. I like the little chorus thing and the section in the middle has a fun gravity to it that carries the message well.

THAT BEING SAID! maybe I'm wrong? who knows! YOU DO!! tell me what you think, what you like about it and what you don't, etc etc.

OKAY, GM!!! my name is jackson, you can also call me gray or graymatters if that's your preference!

my plan for this blog is a few various things. first of all, and this is the main reason i'm making it, I want to get over my issue with releasing music. I make a LOT of music, basically all of my time is spent working on it, and then I never put it anywhere for anyone to see. I'm gonna stop doing that. I want people to see it, I want to know what people think, I can't grow in a vacuum. the hope is that this blog will serve as a place where I can put whatever i'm working on at the time, talk about it a little bit, and just set it down and let people engage with it if they want to.

second facet of the plan is that I want to make music friends!! I listen to a lot of stuff, I have a lot of influences. I don't have a lot of friends who make music themselves or anything and I think it'd be cool to collaborate. tumblr seems like it's got a good community for artsy stuff so I figure this is a good starting place. if you like music a lot or you make music, feel totally free to shoot me a message. it says it in my bio but i'm always down to chat.

was playing "fetch" with the ocean today by tossing stones into it and watching them wash back up with the tide a few meters away, and it got me thinking about grief and the things we carry with us even after we lose them
