If chasing may be reduced as being attracted to something quite specific about someone's appearance without having a genuine interest for the person as a whole, I, uhm, well, there's that one dynamic in which people identifying to the gender they're assigned at birth only to be attracted to the opposite of their assignation in a seemingly forced way because quite often neither party seems to genuinely care about what the other likes and will often talk about eachother's passion with nothing but derision. Apparently it's even traditional in certain cultures. It doesn't seem healthy to me, but I shall refrain from making any judgement. I come from a place of concern regarding these things. I don't understand people who almost feel pride of being callous and insensitive as if it was a desirable trait and not objectively ugly in about every circumstances...like congrats on being unappealing I guess???

u have to just get comfortable with the idea that every medical procedure involves risk, having a body at all involves risk, & defending bodily autonomy can't be contingent on defending only the actions that (you think) correspond with the least risk

Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.

He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
