Ekko in the end was such an underdeveloped character that ppl headcanon stuff about him that was never actually established in arcane canon and don’t even realize that. Like the idea that Ekko cares about The Independent Nation of Zaun or that he would ever care about the revolution or that he had a crush on Powder. I think it’s bcos if you get rid of all the headcanons what’s even left? The viewers need to do so much work in order to give this guy any beliefs or connections within the story.

evrart has had the same voice actor from the start. however, his vocal performance between releases has been changed drastically. so i finally got two examples side by side- him saying the same lines, in original and in final cut. personally im so accustomed to squawky evrart that the old one seems quite offputting haha

i love the ways disco elysium portraits are used to both represent and bend the actual realities of the characters. elizabeth is met sitting on a bench and is generally short so the portrait reflects her reluctantly looking up at you

meanwhile cuno is like 5 feet tall at the absolute max but his portrait is framed like this: he has the viewer backed into a corner, hunched over to meet your eye level. youre cuno's bitch. his raw dominant cuno energy bends the way reality is presented to us
