B,
Before we first met, you were a perfect figure our shared chaperone put on a pedestal so high that I couldn’t reach, and I was the rebel who ran away from a breakfast shop that served horrible eggs to a faraway town where the sea had long drained. Now you’re still a perfect figure on a pedestal so high I couldn’t reach, only I put you up there myself, and I’m still someone who ran away, this time from all my family and friends. (x)

“There is a kind of crying I hope you have not experienced, and it is not just crying about something terrible that has happened, but a crying for all of the terrible things that have happened, not just to you but to everyone you know and to everyone you don’t know and even the people you don’t want to know, a crying that cannot be diluted by a brave deed or a kind word, but only by someone holding you as your shoulders shake and your tears run down your face.”
— Lemony Snicket, The End

How can we learn more about Ellington Feint?
As the namesake says, “Art is dangerous. It is one of the attractions: when it ceases to be dangerous you don’t want it.” Draw near to danger at your own risk and thrill.

What if when Quigley came back to Isadora and Duncan, he was so brainwashed by VFD, that he was hardly recognisiable?
Not their playful, clever brother, but a soldier prepped for war?
Now, he refuses help for things - in the sake of honour. He gazes into the distance and doesn't engage in futile discussions.
Duncan and Isadora can do nothing but grieve him twice.

child/preteen-aged beatrice wearing a frog-themed outfit? idk it just appeared in my head at the exact second i saw you were looking for art prompts, so-
oh, or also b&o with black nail polish, half of which is spilled everywhere, half of which is being used to paint their nails with.
i'm obsessed with your art by the way. have a nice train ride!
i always imagined olaf as having a secondary role backstage on costumes in the vfd theatre productions. based on this image
B: This is pretty garish, even for you, O. Garish means 'tacky', by the way.
O: Take your big words to the idiot that chose to put on Beatrix Potter, B.

I cannot overstate how much of a fucking gift A Series of Unfortunate Events was to my developing child brain in ways I did not realize until my adult years. A series that captured the magic of a beautiful vocabulary, the humor in chaos and misfortune, the hopelessness of living as a child, the inherent tragedy that comes with simply being alive in the world, the tenderness and vulnerability buried in grief, and the value of resourcefulness and honing your unique talents. But more importantly, teaching that anyone —even a child— can be a champion of self-dignity and courage, that anyone —even an adult— can be flawed and weak, and how love is sometimes the only thing we have left that makes life somewhat livable when everything else is a fucking dumpster fire.
