AIR QUALITY WARNING

Hey fellow Northeasterners on Turtle Island, aka the USA and Canada! Recent wildfires are spreading smoke and dangerous air conditions across New England. I only realized this because of social media, so I'm spreading the news further with maps for visuals. Things are officially UNHEALTHY so everyone needs to be careful, especially anyone with heart or lung conditions.

If you're in NY, MA, RI, CT, NJ, etc, please be careful!

Close your windows (consider sealing them if it's really bad)

Wear respirator masks (ex N95s) outside

Turn on air filters if you've got them

Use fans inside to keep cool and keep air moving

Check for air coming in around window AC units! You can probably still use your AC, but remember that their filters generally don't block smoke.

Remember, wildfire smoke doesn't just include burnt up trees but can include all kinds of hazardous materials, so the less outside air inside your house the better. If you've got any DIY Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes around for COVID-19 filtration, they excel at filtering out other dangerous particles too. Here's a diagram for making one, :

Also, try to avoid strenuous activities (ex moving furniture, climbing lots of stairs, etc) and listen to your body's needs. If you need to lay down and do nothing for a while, go for it. Stay hydrated, especially if your throat is getting scratchy! If you've got asthma, make sure your meds are close by.

Arzades lived the first sixteen years of his life barely seeing any human being besides his mother. She was both teacher and friend to him, teaching him to be as self-sufficient as possible. On the eve of teaching him some of the most important lessons of all, chaos broke into their lives, upending all Arzades knew.

Now he's on the road, chasing after those responsible for bringing death and destruction to his life. Because his mother hid a secret from him for the first sixteen years he lived. She taught him hunting, fishing, lessons for living in society. She taught him farming, how to care for wounds, cooking, and even history. But she didn't tell him this.

No one is supposed to know he exists.

So I don't really know the best way to go about this, but my friend Sean wrote a book and I want to share it with y'all. The link here is for Amazon Canada, but it is also available in other countries (your best bet is to search "Iron and Tempest" and look for the one by Sean Hamilton, currently on the Canadian site it's the first result even without including his name). Normally I wouldn't promote something from Amazon, but I know it was the most feasible option for him to get his book published and they've been very helpful to him thus far.

As of making this post (29/04/2021), the Kindle version is set to release on May 1st and there is also a paperback version available (as far as I can tell it takes a few days, likely a combo of printing & shipping; I ordered the paperback a few days ago and it's set to arrive on May 1st as well, but isn't listed as a pre-order like the e-book version).

I don't expect this to be an issue for the majority of people following me (and if it is, you can kindly see yourself out), but a note from the author: "there is LGBT+ content within this book.  If that makes you uncomfortable or changes your decision to support, just be aware with no hard feelings."

Hey y’all so I’ve never done this before but here goes.

My dog needs surgery. He’s got cancer and needs surgery to help him out with it. He is the sweetest dog and has so much more life left in him.

I hate to do this but my family can’t really afford it without going into debt so if any of y’all could spare a few dollars it would help immensely. My mom set up a Gofundme for him.

listen i never expected destiel to become canon. that was the whole joke. because i knew it wouldn't be good, even if that tiny part of me was hopeful. and here we are, a few days after this blog turned 7 years old and they managed to do a goddamn 'bury your gays' speedrun. what even is 2020 anymore?

well y'all, apparently one of the otps i originally had in mind when i made this blog (as a joke, i might add)... is officially canon. not sure how to feel about this.
