While Ro is resourceful, a quick learner, and clever, her education leaves much to be desired. She can read very little- as she she was still just beginning to learn when she fell into the sea. She understands the concept of basic addition and subtraction- one banana for each member of her family- but she’s never actually seen or used real numbers in ten years. Rosella can sew pretty well, she sings, she knows which plants to make her healing tonics from. (Island roses for Sunset herb.)  As for history, geography, basic table manners ... there’s no way.

Her mother and only the most trusted of her ladies begin to teach her where they left off. Generally if Ro is pointed in the direction of knowledge she’ll seek it out and pick things up quickly but it doesn’t change the fact that this young woman is being taught the same lessons as a child. Most Paladians are just happy to see that the girl’s alive, and given her ... unusual upbringing enough pity is taken upon her to keep the gossip to a minimum. There still is gossip though, mostly spread by the former candidates for Heir before the Princess’s return. Overtime different tutors and masters are brought in to fill in the gaps Marissa can’t.

After the wedding, Antonio and Rosella return to Paladia to be with her mother. The castle itself feels strange to Ro. It feels familiar, yet alien to her. Just being in some of the rooms is enough to bring black flashes of memories. As more of them come back to her, it’s almost startling. To know she was that little girl but can never go back to really being her... 

She begins to remember her life as Rosella, but is still just.. Ro... Still the girl who was raised by animals, the girl who slept in a tree for ten years, who swung from vines and spent most of her days simply enjoying herself. She often struggles trying to put the two pieces of her life together.
