Reading and exploring
Now I have started to read the book Psychic Witch as well, for it felt natural to do.
What is it I think about this book is a part of my practise?
- I have for to long denied my natural abilities.
- I have run away, been scared, afraid of it, what it can cause and do
- For so long I have been scared of my own mind, and brain. I have “to much” imagination. When I look in mirrors it activates my ocd, i have been afraid of the dark, afraid of ghosts and spirits.
- I am usually being triggered by even the word hex or curse.
- I have not trusted my mind, being afraid to go mad.
- Would never ever dare to try any drugs, because I think it would go bad instantly.
- I am a very scared person, have lived under trauma that was mainly caused by manipulation and me being afraid of this person.
- I was a very lonely child, my other family members slept on the other floor from me and I was terrified of the dark.
- I even put my blanket over my stuffed toys to they would be protected during the night. And I slept under the blanket as well.
- As a teenager, every little scary thing like scary movies for example made me a complete wreck, ones I actually got a panic annat after watching a scary movie (during the day and with low sound with friends).
- It is so deeply programed in my conscious and sub-conscious mind that I have to be afraid of everything and constant seeing everything as i disaster (crisis-mode activated). Its pard of my shadow-work, cbt training and practise to reform my thought patterns. to have faith, surrender and allow.
- I need to go through my emotions, believing in my self, have faith that I am being protected during psychic-practices. This is a big part of my transformation and deepening my spiritual path of a witch. To embrace my inherit and natural gifts of having psychic abilities. Dare to explore this part of me, the realm in between and use my imagination.

Notes while reading
... the book Revolutionary Witchcraft:
- The power of words in no joke
- How much we have been affected by capitalism in every little detail of our lives, and that it is possible to re-wire ourselves to something better.
- How consumerism has really just ruined our imagination and creativity. It makes us passive and takes away our identity as a member of society.
- Dream and thereby transform
- Allowing, beleiving in my soul journey/flight.
- Trust my imagination, for what is is and as a powerful tool
- Try to start writing down my dreams in the morning before I kinda forget
- Because I have such vivid dreams, maybe I would be great i losid(?) dreaming
- I have for a very long time being scared of my psychic abilities, and have had a hard time to even consider to contact my ancestors.
- It´s soon time for Samhain and the vail is thinner for everyday, your can really feel it. I have had several dreams about my old cat (who passed away due to illness), and she is still one of my spirit guides. I have some plans som october 31th, for example to honor my cat by having some canned cat food for her on my alter. and light a candle.
- I find it also so cool that there are many cultures that celebrate around this time of year, and all have rituals of honor the dead, long before travel was possible and cultures met. It must be something truly universal and connected thru us all over history!

Witchy books-reflections
I bought my first witchy books last month, they really felt right and aligned with what i want do dig deeper on and how I view my own magical path to be and go forward to.
The first book of the two I started to read is Revolutionary Witchcraft-A guide to magical activism by Sarah Lyons.
My “reflections” and repetition while reading:
- actively engaged with the world around you
- Magic = Energy = Power = Politics
- Energy flows all around us in many shapes, transforms, is a source of power.
- Everything is kinda political, use your magic and energy for something good and bigger then oneself.
- Manifesting / creating the world around you
- Collective strength - together we fight and challenge capitalism and save earth
- Connection with the earth, the history of our world and our roots
- Witchcraft is something you do, use it to create, a tool to manifest
- Finding your inner power and strength, förkasta perfektionism, connect with the body, emotions and intuition
- Ancestors is our spirit alies, can be a feminist or queer that lived before our time, someone you look up to or find inspiring, or a loved one.
- Witchcraft is feminine, non-capitalist, weird and has been around for ages
-There are many paths and ways to live the life of a witch and ways to perform witchcraft.
- the disenchanted world is cold, alone and alienated and drives to earn money on our self esteem, make us scared and keeps us appart from each other (”us and them”)
- The importance of connections and relationships
- initiation, break what bounds you/keeps you down + a promise for the next view of life and change of ways
- the power of words and ritual (ceremoniell magic, theatrlcal, songs, chants, symbols,
- cleansing- a way to transform negativity, use the energy to create change
- shadow work, go deep within and acknowledge one´s darkness and mean self, accept all your ways and allow change/fluidity
- Witches stand in solidarity with oppressed people everywhere

since i have more or less just started my witchcraft journey i thought it’d be cool to share all of the information i have been collecting. i feel like an important aspect of witchcraft is having a solid understanding of the basics so that’s where i started!
my first research point was the different types of witches; i’d like to mention this is not all of the kinds of witches, just the ones i saw come up most often in my research. i am still continuing to look into other paths.
eclectic witch
witchcraft is very personal and the way you practice depends on what works for you; this is part of what makes eclectic practices so popular. this practice incorporates multiple elements from different pathways; cosmic, elemental, sea and green witchcraft are among the many that can be combined to create your own journey!
solitary witch
as the name describes, these witches practice in solitude. this may either occur by choice or the lack of a nearby coven. either way, these witches practice magick on their own.
kitchen witch
these witches practice a lot of practical magick within the home/kitchen; this includes cooking and brewing for everyday situations. herbs, oils, flowers and other plants are often used; these are often cultivated in their garden with their own intentions and magick.
green witch
in this practice there is a strong relationship between the witch and nature, the earth, plants and animals. they may also be called flora witches. they work with the elements and land spirits by harnessing their energy. they likely have a strong understanding of herbalism. it is also common for them to have gardens where they grow their own plants/herbs that they can collect or the go and harvest in the wild for magickal ingredients.
hedge witch
like green witchcraft, hedge witchcraft is also nature based. however, hedge witches differ because of the incorporation of astral projection and shamanism. the term hedge refers to the boundary between the human and spirit realms. they work as mediums between humans and spirits in both the physical and metaphysical worlds. they practice a lot of divination.
cosmic witch
this path focuses on planetary and celestial energy in its practices. they may also be called celestial, lunar or astrological witches. they follow the planets and alignment of the stars; they base their spells/rituals on these different placements. astrology and astronomy are commonly used. some practitioners only use the seven classic planets, the sun, moon, mercury, mars, jupiter, venus and saturn. others also use uranus, neptune and pluto as well as other celestial bodies like comets, meteors, asteroids, black holes, supernovas, galaxies, star/star clusters. astral projection is commonly used to visit the cosmos.
elemental witch
similar to both the hedge and green witch, elemental witchcraft is nature based. these witches focus on the four elements: earth, fire, water and air. they typically have alters for each specific element around the house. elemental witches may also include astrology with how it ties into the elements. in their practices they may also use natural things like crystals, herbs and with the spirits of nature.
necromancy
this path focuses mostly on death. these practitioners work with the dead by using dirt from graveyards, bones, dead plants or being in a cemetery itself. they also do a lot of spirit work.
draconic witch
these witches work with dragons and/or their energy. dragons can act as guides or guardians for those who work with them; they offer wisdom, protection and strength during spells and rituals. dragons are most commonly observed as spiritual beings in the astral realm.
faerie witch
this kind of witchcraft is done alongside the fae, which includes faeries, gnomes, elves, nymphs and many more. they are heavily related to nature/green/flora witches. they also follow a similar pathway as draconic witches, but rather than dragons they work with the fae.
xx
so, this is my very basic understanding of a few different witchcraft practices. i am very excited to learn more! that being said, i am more than open to constructive criticism but i am just starting so please be kind. blessed be!

Intro to Spirit Work
Throughout history those who practice magic have had a close connection to the spirit world, from fairy doctors who were said to learn their craft from the fae, to ceremonial magicians invoking angels and demons, to witches working with familiar spirits. To practice magic is to open yourself to this connection and to become aware of a whole new world of intelligent beings.
In modern Western culture, there’s a lot of fear around working with spirits. There are countless horror stories about malevolent hauntings, seances gone wrong, and violent possessions. It’s easy to see why many new witches are reluctant to work with spirits.
Ironically, in most other times and places, the spirit world was and is accepted as a normal part of life. All over the world, since before recorded history, people have honored their ancestors, left offerings for local land spirits, and built relationships with deities. We’re actually the weirdos for not having a healthy relationship with the spirits around us.
I personally have found working with spirits to be incredibly rewarding, and being aware of the spirits around me adds a lot of depth to my spiritual practice and my witchcraft. As long as you do your research, keep your wits about you, and are polite, you have nothing to fear and everything to gain from working with spirits.
Some Philosophy Terms
Animism: defined by Merriam-Webster as “attribution of conscious life to objects in and phenomena of nature or to inanimate objects.” An animist believes that all things have a spirit, from animals and plants to rocks and even man-made objects. Animism is a big part of many magical practices, especially in folk magic. It’s also a part of several modern religions, including Shinto and Anito. I personally am an animist, and my magic includes connecting with the spirits of the plants, crystals, and objects I work with.
Pantheism: defined by Merriam-Webster as “a doctrine that equates God with the forces and laws of the universe.” A pantheist believes that the physical world is the Divine. Whereas an animist believes that all things have their own spirit, a pantheist believes that the entire world shares a single, divine spirit. Many Wiccans are pantheists, and in some cases pantheism can coexist with animism (all things are both individual spirits and part of the divine whole).
Panentheism: defined by Merriam-Webster as “the doctrine that God includes the world as a part though not the whole of his being.” A panentheist believes that the world is a part of the divine, but that there is also a part of the divine that exists beyond the physical world. Some Christian groups are panentheists. Another example of panentheism is ancient Egyptian religion, where natural objects like the sky and the sun were seen as the bodies (but not the souls) of the gods.
Which of these philosophies you resonate with will shape how you interact with spirits and the spirit world.
Types of Spirits
This is not by any means an exhaustive list, but here are some of the types of spirits witches commonly encounter or work with:
Ancestors: deceased human spirits, especially those with a familial link to you. Ancestor veneration is a huge part of some magic systems, as well as many religions. Some witches ask their ancestors for help in every single spell or ritual, while others honor their ancestors on certain days, like on Samhain or on a deceased loved one’s birthday. Honoring the ancestors is a good place to start with spirit work because they already have a connection to you and are more likely to be willing to help you. However, working with ancestors can be difficult if you don’t know your family’s history or if you don’t feel close to your family. As author Aaron Oberon says, “Sometimes ancestor work is undoing the blocks our ancestors have built.”
To begin connecting with your ancestors, start by researching your family history. Ask your living relatives about their parents and grandparents. Try your hand at genealogy research and see how far back you can trace your family. If you feel called to do so, you can create a special altar to honor your ancestors. Light candles and leave out offerings of food that your ancestors enjoyed while they were alive.
Land Spirits: spirits that embody and are connected to a natural object or landmark. There are many, many types of land spirits, from individual tree and plant spirits to the spirits of great mountains and rivers. Some land spirits are even worshiped as gods – like Hapi, the Egyptian god of the Nile. Some modern witches even choose to recognize cryptids like Mothman or the Jersey Devil as land spirits! Working with your local land spirits can help you develop a deeper connection to your environment and can make your magic feel more localized and personal.
To begin connecting with land spirits, start by learning about the biology and folklore of your local area. Offerings for land spirits are usually left outside, so be sure to offer things that won’t harm local wildlife. Wild bird seed, fresh fruit, and unsalted peanuts are a few examples of safe offerings.
Spirits of Place: spirits tied to a specific building or location. Unlike land spirits, these beings aren’t always connected to a natural feature. Houses and other buildings can have their own spirits that embody the energy of that place. In Germanic folklore, these spirits are called house wights or husvaettir, and in English folklore they’re called brownies. For people who grew up in non-animist cultures, it can feel strange to leave offerings for the spirit of a man-made building, but there’s a long history of these types of spirits being honored all over the world. I personally see house wights as being similar to land spirits.
If you want to begin connecting with the spirits of your home, start by greeting them by name and leaving out an offering for them. Establishing a relationship with the spirits of your living space can help you create a more harmonious and productive home. Traditional offerings for house wights include dishes of cream, grain-based porridge (like oatmeal or grits), and clean water.
Animal Spirits: the spirit of a specific animal, the archetypal Spirit (with a capital “S”) of an entire species of animal, or an individual spirit that appears as an animal. The concept of animal spirits that act as protectors and guides is found in many cultures, especially those with shamanic traditions. In Norse mythology, fylgjur were protector spirits who often appeared as animals. In British Traditional Witchcraft, witches work with familiar spirits that often take on animal forms. It’s worth noting that the terms “spirit animal” and “totem animal” come from Native American spiritual traditions and should not be used by people who don’t belong to those cultures. The concept of animal guides exists in other cultures, so there’s no reason to appropriate indigenous words and ideas. In my experience, animal spirits are often friendly and easy to connect with, so this is a good place to start for witches who are new to spirit work.
If you’d like to work with animal spirits, you can begin by connecting to the animals that are local to your area. You may feel called to bring a part of the animal you’re connecting with into your sacred space – for example, I keep crow feathers on my altar. Offerings depend on the type of animal spirit you’re connecting to – some require only fresh water, while some traditions state that familiars should be fed with blood (not human). Use your intuition to choose what works for you.
Fairies: fairies are a specific kind of land spirit, and most fairy lore is based on mythology and folklore from the British Isles. Fairies have a reputation in modern pop culture as being sweet, friendly creatures – some authors even compare them to angels! However, I think it’s important to remember that historically, fairies were known for being mischievous and sometimes dangerous. In folklore, fairies are less Tinkerbell and more Spiderwick Chronicles. As author Morgan Daimler says, “They can be cruel and vicious, or generous and kind. Some of them are helpful. Some are indifferent. And some of them think we make a very tasty meal indeed.” For this reason, fairies should be approached with caution.
If you want to honor the fairies in your practice, I recommend checking out Morgan Daimler’s books – they have several on this subject that are both easy to read and well-researched. There are a lot of rules for working with fairies, such as not telling them your full name and not saying “thank you” to a fairy, so this is one type of spirit that you should definitely research before beginning to work with them.
Angels: divine messengers; spirits of love and light that come from the Divine and have no physical form. Strictly speaking, “angel” refers to a messenger of the Abrahamic God, but there are other spirits from other religious traditions that fill a similar role. Angels and similar spirits embody divine love, and as such they are both incredibly powerful and incredibly supportive. Because of their loving nature, working with angels is a good place to start spirit work. Some witches who have had negative experiences with Christianity, Judaism, or Islam may feel uncomfortable working with angels. I have personally found that angels don’t really care how you identify in terms of religion, and have had good experiences with Christian angels even though I identify as pagan. However, your experiences may be different, so please don’t do anything that makes you uncomfortable!
There are a lot of bad resources floating around the Internet when it comes to angels. If you’re interested in working with them, I recommend Chantel Lysette’s books Azrael Loves Chocolate and The Angel Code. There’s also a YouTube channel called Ask Angels with Melanie Beckler – I don’t agree with 100% of her ideas, but it’s a decent free resource. Offerings to angels are typically non-physical, like the light from a candle or the smoke from incense.
Demons: spirits of mischief, strife, and/or evil with no physical form. In Western culture, we associate the word “demon” with Christianity, but demons appear in many other religions, including Hinduism and Kemetic paganism. I personally define “demon” as a spirit who: 1.) is not and never was human, and 2.) is antagonistic towards humans. Most witches only deal with demons when they’re trying to get rid of one. However, there are some magic traditions, such as Goetic Magic, that call on demons in magical rituals. Let me just say this: in my experience, there are very few reasons why someone would want to work with a demon, and doing so is as dangerous for the person doing the summoning as it is for the intended victim. I definitely recommend that new witches stay away from these spirits. (But it should be noted that demons are not the same thing as dark deities!)
If you need to get rid of a demon, sulfur is used in American traditions to banish them. (It may also banish helpful spirits, so keep that in mind.) Blessed water is used to repel demons in several cultures. You can also call on an angel or deity for protection.
Deities: powerful, divine spirits who are worshiped as gods. Deities vary a lot from culture to culture, and each deity has their own personality, moral code, and mannerisms. I have found working with deities to be very fulfilling, as deities allow us to put a human face on the Divine. It’s much easier to form a relationship with, say, Odin than it is with an abstract divine force, at least in my experience. Aside from spiritually fulfilling relationships, deities can also be powerful allies in magic. It’s worth noting that very few deities are 100% good or 100% bad – they’re more nuanced than that. Just like anyone else, deities have strengths and weaknesses. (Yes, even the Abrahamic God. Read the Old Testament sometime and tell me God doesn’t have flaws.)
If you are interested in working with deities, start by doing research into the pantheons you feel drawn to. Were you obsessed with Greek mythology as a kid? (Or Norse? Or Egyptian? Or any other culture?) Read up on it! Find out how those deities were worshiped historically, and use that as a starting point for building your own practice. Offerings for deities vary from culture to culture, but I’ve found that fresh, clean water seems to be pretty much universally accepted.
This post ended up just being a whole lot of vocab, but I wanted to get some definitions straight before I start writing about how to connect with the spirit world. In my next post, I’ll talk about how to introduce yourself to different types of spirits and etiquette for maintaining a healthy relationship!

☀️Sun Meditations☀️
🌞Drawing in Sun Energy Meditation🌞:
This can be done right before any kind of Sun magic or working with Sun deities. It’s also a easy way to recharge your personal energies. If you’re tired and in need of an energy boost during the day use this exercise to recharge your energy levels. It’s also an excellent way to raise energy for any type of healing work
🌞If possible, sit outside in a sunny spot where you will not be disturbed or, if it’s cold outside, stand by a window where the Sun’s light can shine on you. Sit in a comfortable position.
🌞 Close your eyes. Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin. Take 3 deep breaths in-and-out and allow your body to relax.
🌞Turn your hands palm up, raise them to the sky (if that’s comfortable, just resting them on your lap, palms open, works just as well). See the Sun’s energy streaming towards you, and then draw it between your hands until you hold a fiery, golden orb of light.
🌞Slowly lower your hands. As you do, see the Sun’s energy filling your body. See the Sun’s energy filling your head then lower your hands to your chest and see it filling your heart in the core of your being.
🌞Lower your hands again and see the Sun’s energy fill the lower part of your body, going down the soles of your feet. Repeat as many times as you wish.
🌍Grounding Sun Meditation☀️:
This meditation is my favorite way to ground. The sun and earth work in harmony to bring you balance and strength.
🌍 If possible, sit outside in a sunny spot where you will not be disturbed or, if it’s cold outside, stand by a window where the Sun’s light can shine on you. Sit in a comfortable position.
☀️Hold your hands palms up. See a ray of golden light shining on you. Concentrate on the light. Concentrate on emotions being felt and physical sensations. Feel or imagine its warmth on your skin.
🌍Take a deep breath, and as you do, see the sunlight filling you. Take 2 more deep breaths, or until you feel filled with sunlight.
☀️Now place your hands Palm down on the ground to either side of you. Imagine reaching down through the Earth - down, down to the fiery core of the planet.
🌍Take a deep breath and, pulling up the fires that are at the heart of the Earth, take 2 more deep breaths until you are filled with the fires of the Earth.
☀️Place your palms over your heart. See the golden sunlight in the fires at the core of the Earth mix and blend as they fill in circulate through your being.
☀️Say or think:
Fires above, fires below
Within, without I am whole

Something that I have developed during the last couple of years is how to align with the natural flows of life, align with my higher self, life goals, my natural self, my bodies needs, reading what my resistance, fear and anger is rooted, and my energy/emotional ebb and flows. Me and my partner are often using the term: vibin´. Because we are! and it has really made an impact on both of us. We feel the vibes, we practise to listen and connect with ourselves and life just as it is in the present moment. To attune our own beings on several levels, emotional, physical and spiritual within and without.
When I rest, and or meditate in the open-relaxed-brain state I often realise and receive different information and tips, both from my higher/inner self and my spiritual guides/the universe/the Devine energy source. I receive them in the form of just knowing (claircognizance) but also seeing pictures (clairvoyance) in my head and sensing/feeling in my body with my senses (clearsentience).
You probably know the feeling of just out of nowhere receiving an idea or impulse that “this is a thing” or “look there”. I think that it could be a message and I am open to receive this message thru my “abilities” (which of corse everybody is more or less able to have, do to natural inclined and the persons own wanting. ) For me when I was a teenager this was really scary and not something I wanted, due to my struggle with OCD, my natural psychic abilities was confused and got disrupted by my fears. Now days I have tools and medicine for my compulsive disorder and its something I probably will have to work with for the rest of my life. However I can feel a very clear difference between an “message”/knowing/intuition and my fear/ocd. For someone who is allergic to anything (cats for example) know that they are not sick or have a cold because these is a completely different sensation in your whole being. This I think is a good parable to the former statement.
I dream a lot, like very very much every night, these dream are really detailed, complicated long dreams, for many years now. I tried for a while to document these but it became overwhelming due to its long complicated stories and also new stories every night etc.... So I eventually gave it up. But what I do instead is to reflect on them when I wake up and sometimes during the day as well. The most common themes in my “night”-dreams are stress related - like for example I am rushing somewhere, missing the buss, end up somewhere without a phone, losing all my stuff, my items fallings of me during and so forth. Some other common themes are me looking for a bathroom, pooping in front of people, lack of privacy and everything bathroom-related stress thing you can imagine. Also I usually meet people in my life or even more common: people in my past.
From this I can see a pattern of many thoughts in my head, not having control over the situation, processing and healing from past experiences and people, craving privacy and control, a lot of fears, feeling ashamed, worried, scared, alone, being abandoned, in constant struggle and overwhelmed by life and life challenges.
Something along this that really confuses me, is that I very often get “flashbacks”/ “deja vu”. Sometimes it is probably just my brain that is slow and/or to fast and read he situation twice but many many times I know I have dreamed about this before. Or done it before. But maybe that is just life, you do many things many times just as you eat breakfast or something. I also forget many thing, like my brain just completely forget about stuff or things that have happened. She (*my brain*) is just to full and need of a declutter hehehhe.
BYE xoxo

“My” path/journey, practise, way of belief and how spirituality and being a witch affects and support my life.
The Devine Energy and the Universe.
- I find everything being quite magical and there is a lot of things that are not able to explain without believing in magic and some form of “supernatural”. For me The Devine is the Godess (feminin source but gender neutral with they as pronoun, cause they are not human, more of a source of energy (”urkraften”) not limited to a physical body. Sometimes I say God and sometimes Godess, for me they are the same. I need a feminine force to balance out the patriarchal society and masculinity norms. I need the more feminine qualities and knowledge to feel loved, safe, helped and empowered. When I first got interested in Witchcraft and the female entity (”väsen”) I connected with that, it fell true for me and my beliefs. I chose to connect with them by praying and being present (in nature).
- The Universe with all its planets, stars, sun, the moon, the cycles of the moon/ the sun and planets. We are all made of stardust. Astrology is crazy how it is many times affecting many of us. I am aware of and in tune with my birth chart and check on the moon phases and the planets placement sometimes, when I feel that i need/want to know. But often I just flow around naturally and not try to force anything. Like if I do not want to “care”/invest time and energy about some aspect about my life right now, but the planets say so, maybe some other time is better for me. So I try to be more in synch with my own energies and natural responses to the Universal energy than being too proactive by knowing whats gonna happen and force myself to a process that I am not in the right space for or just too busy with other stuff.
Earth and nature.
- Earth is sacred and holy, it is so magic. Nature and human-beings are one. We are all made by earth and living on/of/with nature. The elements build up life and is part of everything. Air, earth, water, fire and spirit. I think the parts are more connected than we might believe sometimes. It is of high importance for me to spend time in nature and care for the environment. I feel very connected to my plants, to my space, animals, (specially cats, because one of my family-members is a cat (and also the loved being we had before her as well, who I now see as one of my spirit guides))
The soul.
- I have always had a strong belief of the soul as a real concept. Where I am on earth we are very secularized with a (short) history of being christian, which is still common in some areas but not in the cities and not the majority of people. So when I claimed this “I think that the soul exists”-”belief” in class in school people did not agree at all with me. I did not even know at the time that this even was a spiritual/religious thing. For me soul and spirit is the same, but I am just more comfortable using the word soul
Facing your shadows, accept all of your being (body, mind and soul).
- By doing shadow work I tap into my true self and heal my past traumas and negative beliefs and thought-patterns. I work on accepting the whole me just as I am, but also thriving and growing in the direction I am drawn to by creating the life I want and follow my dreams. I follow my intuition and my passions. I accept and love my body with all its amazing tools and possibilities. I love to take care of my body, mind and soul. I practise forgiveness and forgive myself and others.
Live simply and authentic.
- The last couple of years I have practised minimalism, slow living, essentialism, low buy, sustainable living, low waste, clean living... etc. Something that I truly feel go hand in hand with my spiritual practise, witch-identity and beliefs. I practise gratitude and being mindful during my day. I rest a lot, sleep 9-10 hours a night, and try to be as content with life just as it is here and now by accepting and embrace life with its natural cycles and energy shifts and changes. I work on building sustainable habits and routines for my self, to simplify for my brain to plan and create in my space.
Heeling and empowering practise.
For me, Witchcraft is a way to empower myself, to gain knowledge and heeling. I am creating the life I want, I follow my higher purpose and use my uniqueness and talents to manifest and transform. I heal my old (not so good) habits and the underlying emotions that caused these habits. So that I now can use other more healthy methods to shape my reality in a good and positive way/direction.
Location, roots and folklore.
- Due to that I live in the northern atmosphere, in the north and northern Europe, this affect what kind of practise I feel more able to do and connect with. I feel very attached to where I life, because it was here I was born, this is the place I always return to, this is where my close ones live. The nature in the north is outstanding and extremely beautiful in its many ways. The smells, sounds, trees, animals, water, foods that grow is so deeply rooted within me. I am happy that I have had the fortune to travel to other countries and live in different places and they are incredible and amazing in its all unique and variated ways. But there is nothing like home. There is a lot of cultural history and folklore that is so deep that people here even do not notice that there is a “thing”. Much however as it has been for many cultures, the old traditions was suppressed and covered up with other religions and modern ways. Not all bad, but still, many was. And I am mot saying what everything were I live is good, it is not, there is many problems we are facing.
(We have actually a problem with neo-nazis / racists here that claims the norse mythology as there own and make it an excuse to be a bad person. I HATE THIS. They do not have the right to do that and I hate what the are doing by creating more fear in the society )
I love to know more about the old northern/European folklore. We have had a long tradition of using herbs/plant medicin and growing food. Also a lot of mystical creatures in old tales and belief of ghosts/spirits and “hustomtar” etc.

-------
I have struggled a lot recently with negative thought-patterns and low self-esteem. Also the sun in cancer, moon in pisces and what not, also many signs in RX, together they caused a wonderful emotional roller coaster.
However, I feel much better now, a relief really, PUUUUH.
During this episode I tried EFT/tapping, meditation and praying to get some pain relief and support. I try my best to accept these episodes as a challenge to look within and heal parts of me that is still not confronted with and “broken”. But it can be difficult sometimes to stay “positive”/neutral when everything is chaos and life sucks.
Also a lot of my struggles have had to do with the lack of structure and no social connections, something that causes my adhd and feelings of low-value to sky-rock.
Now my partner is back at home, I have met my family and had a little contact with some friends which truly light up my life. I love my close ones so much that it hurts and that I often get “a bit” too excited (an understatement to say at least) so I usually become a big energetic ball of love and I cant stop talking for hours. This is something I feel bad about, I wish to find a balance for me when I spend time with my loved ones, to be able to both be my authentic self and relax/listen/enjoy their company more. I often feel ashamed afterward we had hang out and wish that i could talk less and chill down.
An other thing is that of some reason that many people struggle with and share is: “why is it so hard to reach out when you are sad/feeling down”. We really should tho. But I did, I called my parents and they invited me to join a yoga-class with them. I also tried to reach out to my brother (who was working) and then my partner. Who joined me in the phone when I went to the grocery-store.
Now I have a little more structure, feel more at ease with myself and like my life for the way it is right now. I have made an effort to study and plan out my days. I have cleaned up my space, have food to eat and made myself a soup. I have scheduled to meet with friends and family and fun things to look forward too this week and weekend to motivate me to focus on my studies.
HUGGGGGSS xoxo

Beltane
<3
I am celebrating Beltane today by:
- scrolling witchy things on IG for an hour in bed before getting up, doing some research, tips and inspiration.
- actually did a little ritual today, i am a little proud. I have such a hard time to plan and follow thru with things in general and get easily overwhelmed by small things. and also my OCD is really going crazy when i am spiritual.
So here is how i did - first tidied up my space, brushed my teeth, changed clothes to something a bit more witchyhippiecomfyyoga-ish to get in the mood.
I wear a hematite-ring for protection from my own mind in forms of ocd. it worked really well today!
I do my usual stuff, grounding practise, burning clove first to smell abundance and presents vibes, lighting a yellow candle, putting up my altar and the crystals that i was vibin with, specially now for Beltane/may day. many which is earth and fire element stones. Prayed (thanking, blessing, ask for help, sharing) to the devine being and connecting to they/her and talking about all kinds of stuff related to life, beltane, the earth, nature, animals, seasons, universe, environment, and the pandemic and post-pandemic feelings and thoughts. Blessed my plants by putting my left hand on them. My left hand is more present and neutral than my right.
Now afterwards i am listening to some witchy chants, and a brew myself a cup of pepparmint sage tea with some honey in it.
Tonight i am going to a small gathering/ home party, i hope it will be nice and fun. gonna drink some whine, connect with friends, wear some blessed jewellery/amuletts, sing and dance.
I will try to embrace my own fluidity, natural being, feeling witchy and also accept the universe abundance, guidance and love.
Blessings <3

Grimoire
Now when i am starting to get used to actually writing out what i do in my craft, i get inspired to write down even more. because there is a lot of practise that go on unseen, by even me.
My grimoire/book of shadows:
- i am a bit all over the place, i have for a couple of years the habit of taking notes and collecting information and inspiration by taking pictures, screenshots and writing in by log-book. i think this (aka tumblr) will also be a peace of my witchy-notes because it is nice to write on the computer. i do also put down my thoughts and feelings in a word-doc as well sometimes. i have a few finished notebooks on my alter, that i was very active in when i was new to the craft and really needed to write it down as i was learning new things.
- these days i don´t have a log-book (i don´t really know why), but i have a month-list (where i put my phases, focus-areas, ideas and what i do) that i keep on my wall. a lot of my craft is put on my walls in forms of moodboards, reward chart/habit tracker, my goals and theme for 2020.
- i keep a mindset journal, i was consistent for a month but now it is a bit forgotten. during this pandemic i have hard a hard time in remembering and be motivated to practise my habits and tools. (adhd-witch-life)
- i really love and need to put things down into words and collecting and documenting as life goes on. <3 but it need to be fun, simple and easy to do, so that it does not become a chore. i keep alot of it on my phone, and i revisit the pictures and notes to reflect and think. i save almost everything later on my hard drive as b-u.
- a challange for me is to balance life, in a dynamic way, not stagnate balance but more with flow and fluidity. because that is how life is! fluid, movement and dynamic.

My witchy practise: things i do
- drink my peppermint and sage-tea
- walking in nature, admire the elements, look for parts of nature in the city where i live, connecting with moss, bumblebees, the wind, lichen (lav in my language), the sun, rain, birds song, smells of spring,
- meditate, breathing and body awareness in my senses, qigong and yoga sometimes (following youtube-videos)
- dancing, singing, listen to music and chants (and singing along in chants, i have studied the lyrics on my favourite ones)
- following the years season, now its turning spring here, following the wheel of the year in very small and little ways. i did a bit of fasting before easter and celebrated Ostara/spring equinox - by saving and place eggshells in the garden.
- pet my families cat Ronja, and connecting with her i a slow and present way.
- my alter is very small and simple, i get easy overwhelmed by information and “possibilities” of my tools and craft. i love to watch and listen to others. but it have to be balanced with me doing my own. i often burn a little clove, light a candle (colour corresponding, these days i often use yellow for happiness, and blue for creativity), connecting and pray to the devine being, picking out rocks that help with my mood and energy and what i need and want to send out to the world and achive that specific day.
- a lot of my jewlery are charms and have a symbolic use and i wear them to align with the energy of the amulet. I need a lot of physical reminders because i forget easy.
- on my body a carry tattoos that all have a special meaning and symbolises different things that i need.
- currently i am growing out my hair for spiritual purposes, to grow with my actions, taking responsability for my life and not just cut my hair (supershort) to escape from my mistakes and shame.
- i would love to be a part of a coven, i am really in a place to connect and talk about spirituality and practising witchcraft, i have a couple of friends that i can do that with, but i need and want even more.
- i really love and take effort in caring for my plants, they truly are my babies.
- astrology and the faces of the moon is a big part of my month, i get in tuned more and more as time goes by, getting to know myself through my natal chart and corresponding with the moon during my menstrual cycle.
- aligning with my higher self, purpose, needs, wants, love, heal, allow to the flow of life, nurture myself and my being, follow my passions and interests, surrender and letting life unfold naturally, tuning in to life.
- cleaning, tidying and curating my space, i am very minimal but in my own way, i have a strong aesthetic and need my space to be a place where i can exist, be present, explore and create.
- my clothes is a way for me to express myself, and i also do a bit of glamour casting spells with my make up.
- celf-care and self-love is truly a way of practising witchcraft, just by taking care of my body, mind and soul. i carry many feelings of anxiety due to that i dont really have (mostly use) the tools to truly feel them, i try to do a little EFT here and there, say affirmations, and doing breathwork and qigong to calm myself. that is also why i started to write here, to put out my thoughts and words somewhere and actually see progression and following my own process more in a solidifying matter.
- i have a need to be more concrete with my practise, a bit more consistent. i do alot of small things in a scattered way, and that is okay to, but i think i need more rituals and creating space for myself to create my intentions.
this was a witchy rant and long list about life and living. being a witchy little person who needs the comfort of practising their own spirituality.

...
I find myself questioning many things, in forms of my craft. like that i am not doing enough och it is not real. but the mater of fact, i find it that i do think that a lot of random things are witchcraft for me, like following my intuition in the daily really small choices, follow what attracts me, getting to know myself, sleeping and resting a lot.
I shall surrender. i will surrender to the flows around me, to allow life to naturally unfold. i already have a hard time to be motivated to do things, however it may not always be motivation that make you do stuff, it is your habits and mindset. i continous repeat my small actions/practises over and over again, and it is truly a blessing every time because it works and gives me peace of mind.
blessings fellow witches, blessed be <3
