– THEY USED TO GOSSIP ALL THE TIME, but…never about each other. they were fierce protectors, closer friends, and octavia ? she would’ve defended iskra tooth and nail at any chance. a lot of people knew octavia as vindictive, jealous, possessive…and maybe she was, but with iskra, she was better than that. she was GOOD. and that’s why this sort of betrayal cuts deeper than the rest – it’s why she’s much more furious with iskra than she ever could be with roman.

she cares about her so much. and maybe there’s a touch of jealousy – ghosts can still be petty. she’s not ONLY worried about doom and gloom.

“ go and die on you ? come on, like we both don’t know that’s not the narrative, ” she flops down on iskra’s bed like old times, head cradled in her palms as she looks up at her best friend. “was my body even cold before you started calling him to your bedside ? well – i suppose there are worse boys you could be cozying up to right about now. you know, murderous ones. ”

SHE SHOULD FEEL NO GUILT, but she does. She doesn’t relish the feeling of guilt, of second-guessing her own mourning, but she does. Iskra can feel Octavia’s anger; perhaps it feels more like a strong wind than the musings of a friend because she isn’t really here. Or rather -- she is. But she isn’t. She is here in spirit -- far too much, and yet a whisper of her former self. And yet Iskra swears she can reach out and touch her if she tries hard enough. And she’s tempted to; curled beneath her blankets, all she wants to do is reach forth and press her palm against Octavia’s cheek. 

“i know,” she hisses; speaking louder than a breath feels like sacrilege, as if she might breathe too hard and blow her away like dust. and her sentiment is applicable to just about everything octavia says; and as usual octavia is right. iskra just can’t say it aloud. “maybe if you’d stop being so cryptic, and ominous, and -- fucking apocalyptic, i could help you. but you -- you always did tend toward the dramatic.” she shakes her head, pressing the heels of her hands to her eyes and rubbing until spots dance before her vision. 

“i--” she shakes her head, pressing her hands into her throbbing eyes before looking to octavia again. and at once, it very much is octavia. she is far too awake. “what do you want me to say? what do you want me to do?”

she thinks. and then she sits up straight, indignant, forgetting any semblance of being humble. “pretty shitty, isn’t it? my whole fucking world implodes because my best friend dies, and this is how you appear to me? pardon my lack of a ouija board -- but this is bullshit. i cried over you. i still cry over you.”

my first kiss was a mess because i hadn’t told anyone ( including the guy i was kissing ) that i had only ever kissed anyone in plays, and i was at a party where everyone was basically in a corner trying to consume each other, and so i had to act like i knew what was up. 

i love that i’m so good with animals! i used to work on a farm, and i miss it. this corporate gig is lame compared to being able to play with rescue animals all day. 

oh man, it’s been years since i’ve been in front of a real fire. i used to live in germany, so i think two christmases ago was the last time. there were fire pits set up around a christmas market, and i sat by one right next to the village’s cathedral with my mom and drank mulled wine. my partner and i might be moving to where it’s super cold in the fall and winter, so i might get to revisit that soon! 

sunrise by far! i’m an early riser ( farm lyfe ) and my favorite thing was always getting to the barn early to sit and watch the sun rise over the pasture with a cup of coffee. 

i would know the best thing about summer IF I HAD ONE( ok but ... it’s drinking on the beach. it’s always been about drinking on the beach )

omg my first best friend was a girl named callie, and we were both in our community theatre production of the lion the witch and the wardrobe. i was mr tumnus (an icon) and she was susan, and we were bffs. we still talk!

ok this is going to sound cheesy as hell, but my favorite part of rp is reading other peoples’ threads. i love my own characters and all, but i just am constantly so flabbergasted by the talent that lives on this site. i come from a family of non-creatives (aside from my grandpa, though we’ve only just reconnected recently after years apart) so i’ve always felt kind of isolated in my own interests. so like... coming on here and seeing the passion that goes into the writing everyone in the rpc (and everyone in this group) puts forth just gets me so excited and makes me feel invigorated and empowered in a way not much else does. 

so like.... y’all. y’all are my favorite part. y’all are the reason i’m 500 pages into a novel rn.you inspire me with your talent and passion!

yellow: if you could have any view from your bedroom window what would you choose? what’s your favorite thing to do on a sunny day? what do you consider lucky? what made you smile today? what makes you happy?

if i could have any view, it would be some kind of sprawling woodsy/countryside scene; maybe the mountains. my favorite thing to do on a sunny day is to sit on my lucky planned parenthood throw blanket by the lake in my neighborhood and write -- although the novel rn is 500 pages and still not done. i consider coincidences lucky, and any time anything on the radio has something to do with what i’m doing at the time. today, i smiled because my fiance brought me flowers; i also smiled because i finished a big project for work; i also smiled because i finished dragon age: inquisition for the first time and i’m a sappy bitch who loves character development. my cats make me happy; my partner makes me happy; reading the amazing writing on the dash makes me happy; writing my own novel makes me happy; exercise makes me happy; disney music makes me happy

my music preference changes all the time, but right now i’m really obsessed with hayley williams’s new music. i also love the westworld soundtrack, all three seasons, for writing.
