thoughts on a friday night alone
life always been about filling the void, the void of now, the void of yesterday , the void of the future. you keep going so far down until theres no more room left to reach the bottom. the bottoms been here, but you’re too distracted by everything else. other peoples problems, life problems, when shits due, when shits not due, the overwhelmingness of it all completely numbs you to where you actually are. then after some how managing escaping the bottom you forget what its like to be any where else. you crave some stimulation, the stimulation of anything, everything. everything so perfectly right but feels so completely wrong. is that your fault? who’s fault? i would like to know who is responsible. responsible for the emptiness you feel inside day after day, night after night, countless minutes spent thinking of what was and believing its whats now. who feels that? who understands that?
crashing wave by wave of cold uneventful seconds go by over and over again. is this life? is this what people meant by feeling alive? how can i feel alive when i hardly feel anything at all? how can i feel alive when I’m being dragged further by the weights of the past? the weights that bound me to their chains. the chains of what were once mine, but were merely forgotten when i left that place. now I’m back here. I’m forced to be back here. forced to be back in place that was once everything and now is nothing. restless nights awake and asleep fighting the urges to not fall back to the bottom.
a bottom where the only sound is the one you make yourself. I’m tired of being here. or was i tired of being there? was i really as tired as i said i was. day after day saying I’m fine, I’m just tired. i liked that statement. i liked that it held a meaning for my existence, something anything to explain where i was and how i felt, but now with everything i feel nothing. i am still at the bottom? how do you know when you’ve left if you still only hear yourself? how do you know if you’ve moved on when returning back to that place makes you feel like a complete stranger in your own home.
you almost forgot what was around every corner. what was hiding in the shadows. the obvious oblivion that used to make you feel like nothing. like spec, amongst hundreds of specs that made up the dust bunnies in your room. you almost forgot what it was like to live without pain. and yet you’re not bothered when those feelings start to return? is the void that you craved so much while being away? how could you want something that hurt so bad? how could you need something to make you feel worse? again, do you want to be on in the bottom? DO YOU? at least there you’d have someone that’d actually listen to you. things come and go. people come and go but the feelings behind them and the emotions they evoke stay forever and leave a mark. i suggest you choose more wisely on who you allow into your life.

One Hundred Ways to Say ‘I Love You’
“Pull over. Let me drive for awhile.”
“It reminded me of you.”
“No, no, it’s my treat.”
“Come here. Let me fix it.”
“I’ll walk you home.”
“Have a good day at work.”
“I dreamt about you last night.”
“Take my seat.”
“I saved a piece for you.”
“I’m sorry for your loss.”
“You can have half.”
“Take my jacket, it’s cold outside.”
“Sorry I’m late.”
“Can I have this dance?”
“I made your favourite.”
“It’s okay. I couldn’t sleep anyway.”
“Watch your step.”
“Here, drink this. You’ll feel better.”
“Can I hold your hand?”
“You can borrow mine.”
“You might like this.”
“It’s not heavy. I’m stronger than I look.”
“I’ll wait.”
“Just because.”
“Look both ways.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.”
“Try some.”
“Drive safely.”
“Well, what do you want to do?”
“One more chapter.”
“Don’t worry about me.”
“It looks good on you.”
“Close your eyes and hold out your hands.”
“That’s okay, I bought two.”
“After you.”
“We’ll figure it out.”
“Can I kiss you?”
“I like your laugh.”
“Don’t cry.”
“I made this for you.”
“Go back to sleep.”
“Is this okay?”
“I picked these for you.”
“I’ll drive you to the hospital.”
“What do you want to watch?”
“You can go first.”
“Did you get my letter?”
“I’ll do it for you.”
“Call me when you get home.”
“I think you’re beautiful.”
“Are you sure?”
“Have fun.”
“Sit down, I’ll get it.”
“I made reservations.”
“I don’t mind.”
“It brings out your eyes.”
“There is enough room for both of us.”
“You don’t have to say anything.”
