“New foods, new flavors, I mean I’m not really good at cooking but if someone offers me something I’ve never tried before I’ll try it... little things here and there, some peculiar hat my boss designed... I don’t know I guess I just don’t want to miss something because I didn’t want to give it a chance...”
“Really? What sort of things?”

“Yes, that’s me” she said with a smile while taking his hand, “Isabelle Newton.” He was young, around Belle’s age, she was relieved, the probability of them not getting along was little, they had to have something in common. Perhaps they even went to school together. He had a kind voice, and watching him there on the blanket looking like he truly belong in a picnic scene from a book, made Isabelle felt more relaxed. “This is wonderful...” she said once again.
Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad. He seemed like a good person, there was not reason for Belle to panic, she needed to let things happen. It’s not like he knew what she had done, there was not way it would come up. “So do you mind if I ask how you picked this place?” she said turning around to see their surroundings, “I didn’t know there was a willow tree here...” she said reaching for the tree’s trunk and running her hand over a heart someone had drew.

“I apologize sir, I didn’t think before I acted” she said bitting her lip, she had practically yelled at him to move, “I- umm I guess I was just worried about you getting water all over you... I’m sorry...”
“Maybe it’s not their fault... it could be the materials, or ... something else...” the last thing she wanted was to get someone in trouble.
“There’s no need to stutter. I won’t shun you or rip your head off. It’s all about politeness, Miss Newton.”
Scott lifted his head up, looking at the roof. “Oh. I’m going to kill the assholes that built this roof. Incompetent shitheads is what they are. Thank you, for informing me.”

“And we have a winner!” Belle said with a smile while handing the girl the purse.
“How’s the book?” she asked before she was able to stop herself.
“Thank you.”
“It’s medium sized. One should have a poetry book sticking out of it.”

“I don’t know... what if I’m boring?” she said with a shrug. “But maybe I’ll try to bid on one of the baskets... I don’t know, maybe just once and that’s it. Just to help the club.”
“I’ve heard that the owner is very kind, and the girls really love working here. And I’ve heard people really enjoy being here. So helping them out seems like a good thing to do, we need more place where people enjoy themselves in town.”
“I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself.”
“Why would they be disappointed? You’re a sweet person to be around, I can’t really think of anyone who’d be disappointed unless they’re unpleasant themselves. I wasn’t planning on bidding, but maybe I’ll bid for 3. Or maybe I’ll bid a little on all the baskets. Just to help raise more money. I quite like Fire & Ice after all.”

“Would rain boots be alright?” she asked with a smile, she loved learning new things, specially new skills.
“Clothes like the kind I don’t ming getting dirty?” she said thinking about using the clothes she wore for gardening. “Where should I met you sir?”
“I have the gear. You….”
“Might want to change those shoes. It could get muddy. …Perhaps your clothes too, for that matter. The worst that could possibly happen is you fall into the water.”

Isabelle smiled at his words, but inside she knew that it was only a matter of time before he got bothered, “thank you sir...” she said once again. She couldn’t help but notice that not only was he incredibly tall but also very handsome and proper. He had to be a royal oficial. She had to be careful.
“You are a life saver!” she said maybe a little too excited, but getting this package on time meant that the shop would not get in trouble. “Ohh... I-... thank you... it’s not that heavy, but thank you...” she said before handing the package to him. “Lead the way sir” she said with a smile.
I think I might be lost...
A light laugh slipped through his lips as he shook his head. “You could never bother me,” Hans responded, looking her up and down, liking what he saw. “I’ve got a few hours, so I don’t mind.”
Leaning over her, he looked down at the address and nodded. “I know where that is. Follow me and let me carry that for you,” Hans offered. He had a few hours before he had to be anywhere and figured it was the perfect time to escort a pretty girl somewhere.

“I love making new friends too...” she said with a smile, it had been easier before, to make new friends, she had never been one to be shy around people. Now, well now was a different story. She wasn’t exactly shy, she was just afraid, she just constantly looked over her shoulder. She feared that if people found out what she had done, they would not only stop being her friends, but also agree with all the people that resented her for being allowed to walk free. “I work at the Hat Shop” she said with a smile, “if you ever walk by feel free to come in and say hi...” she offered.
Isabelle wanted to reach for him, to let him know that he was not alone. But she didn’t know how. She was relieved when he offered a hug, and glad that once she accepted he reached for her. Belle allowed herself to get lost in the hug. It felt so good to be held by someone who cared. She loved hugs, most of the time she would hug her few friends without even thinking about it. But this hug was different, it was about understanding what the other was going through, but also knowing that there was nothing they could say to change it. All they had was hope of things getting better.
Isabelle was used to being the small person in a hug, but not like this. This was different, in this moment she felt as if nothing could harm her. She felt safe. Belle pressed her face against Henry’s chest and heard his heart beating. She concentrated in the beat. Isabelle felt her arms tighten around him, she knew they would be good friends from here on. You don’t share your memories, specially painful ones, with someone without becoming friends. “Thank you...” she couldn’t stop saying. Kindness was something rare in this town, something that should be treasured.
He stared at her for a moment, in awe. There were other people with high positive energies. Henry would have never thought he could have that much of an impact on someone to have them believe something like that. “I’m very glad that you notice it, that you appreciate it. Things weren’t always so easy for everyone and they all deserve to feel the magic and happiness.” His smile, the smile that he always tried to keep on his face all the time grew, so glad that he could meet someone new. “I’m very surprised too and it’s really a pleasure to meet you, Isabelle. I love making new friends.”
Isabelle’s words hit Henry hard. He didn’t know what to say or how to feel. To know that somewhere out there were your parents but you knew nothing of them, hurt. It hurt him every single day, but he didn’t want anyone to have to experience that. They shouldn’t have to worry about how it might feel. Henry wasn’t going to make himself sad, he couldn’t. “Thank you, very much,” he stated, his cheeks turning a bright red. All he had ever wanted was to make them happy, even if they didn’t know who he had become. Nodding with a bright smile, he looked at her, just admiring that small moment that he could connect to someone and hope that they were alright. “You’re welcome.” He held out his hands and pulled her into a hug, just holding onto her. Henry was much bigger than her, but she seemed to fit for that moment and just held onto her and would continue to do so for as long as she wanted to. Isabelle deserved to be hugged. She deserved to know just exactly how much people did care about her and that no matter what, he would continue to be there, because now, she was his friend. Henry had to protect his friends.

“Ohh no, it’s not that... I- I don’t know, it just I never pictured myself being acquainted with a court member, that’s all.”
“That’s what makes us human I guess...”
“I know that’s not something that is very popular here in the town, it was silly of me to say. I momentarily forgot that we’re not very well liked.”
“Yes, well I suppose he’s right actually. We all have our own little quirks.”

“Oh he will, don’t worry. It’s not like we are free to just roam the castle. And he wouldn’t leave without telling you, so don’t worry. You will get your dance.”
“Certainly. I mean what could possibly compel someone to mess up the catering of an event such as this one?”
“I hope so, I would like to have at least one dance with him before I can no longer stand in these heels. I do enjoy a good dance though.”
“I don’t believe the caterer wants to be the caterer right now.”

Eric loved having Isabelle as a friend. She was full of so much happiness that it was contagious. “You’re very welcome.” A light laugh slipped through her lips. “Absolutely. Come on, I’ll show you. I’ve got a little time before I have to be back at the docks. What better way to spend it with than a good friend?” he said, starting to walk, turning to look back at her with a bright smile.
“You are the best!” she said with a bright smile and followed Eric. “After we deliver this, could I walk with you to the docks? It’s been a while since I’ve been there” Belle said resting the hat box on her hip “I mean if it’s okay with you... if you are busy don’t worry about showing me around or anything. I just like to hear the noises and look at the people at the docks” she wondered if that sounded weird. “I just figured we could walk together there.”
I think I might be lost...

“I can’t remember ever seeing you in my apothecary. Come in, if you like. Perhaps we can find the address your customer wrote.”
“Has something caught your eye, child?”
“I would love to come in” Isabelle said with a smile, she could not believe she had never visited this place, she loved going into the different businesses, and getting to know the owners. How could she miss this one? “Thank you, I’ll really appreciate it...”
“Everything...” she said in a whisper, “I- sorry... it’s just... everything looks very interesting..” Belle said with wonder. Wherever she look she found fascinating things, some strange looking, some bright, some dark. “What exactly do you sell here?” she said still looking around.
