Ah. Omg. Where do I even begin? I mean it’s felt like forever since we’ve last really caught up. I just have to get you up to speed! That’s just life in NYC. So much to catch up on since ya know, the city never sleeps! And neither do I. I mean, sometimes. Well you see it’s just hard. You know. With all the. Yeah, it’s just hard. I mean work. Super busy and like, real stressful. I didn’t really exactly imagine myself here. In this job I mean. Like yeah, I’ve always wanted to get out of Indiana. And NYC is great and all. It’s just like. A whole lot of buzz. And of course here, they take everything seriously. Like Deloitt. Of course. They have to. It’s just stressful, I guess. I’m dealing with it though! Gotta control the things you can control. 

I mean like, you know what went down with Kevin and I, right? The break up. Yeah. It was a rough patch for sure, but I just had to do it. But of course, that was like stressful. But I was in control, like, making the decision and everything. I was just trying to get on with my life here in NYC. There’s just no time to waste. And you really have to stay focused, or things just get crazy. Like, you have to have your priorities straight. And some people just don’t get that. Like my old roommate? Her head was in the clouds. Totally somewhere else. It was a big thing. Sorry, I’m all over the place haha. You know, I’ll start from the beginning. So I was living with my friend in Murray Hill...

Europe with the girls

Hey! So it’s the second night here in Europe with my girls. First stop: France! We’re currently in Paris. We are here today and tomorrow and then we are going to head over to Germany for a bit. Coolest summer ever right? I can’t even believe I’m here. It’s so weird. Paris is beautiful. The food is AMAZING. We had some croissants and pastries this afternoon. To DIE for. I’ll probably gain like 50 pounds on this trip, but it is totally worth it.

I’m really enjoying how this break up is getting my mind off of Kevin. As much as I wanted the break up, it did feel totally weird to like, not have him as support anymore. But the girls I’m with are totally cool! They’re from work. They’re all about travelling and seeing the world. Which like, we should all be right. Just get out and see things! That’s what I always say. 

Anyway, I’m really stoked about our itinerary for this trip. We were thinking about London, but like, it’s just kind of too overdone. It’s like everyone on 2012 tumblr was visiting London. It’s just so basic. I’m just like, so done living that basic lifestyle, you know? I’m trying to be different. Yeah. Anyways, that’s all I gotta say. As the french would say, “au revoir”! Xx, Lizzi

NYC Bound

Ahhh. Tomorrow is the big day! I’m moving to NYC. I just can’t even believe it. Like I’m actually here. No more Indiana. No more slow pace. I mean, I left Indiana years ago by now. Penn State isn’t as rural as Indiana. But you know. It’s college. It’s not the REAL thing. Like living on your own I mean. I mean I’m living with my friend now, but still. It’s like. Bills and stuff on my own. Gosh that’s weird to think about. I’m getting old, aren’t I? 

I’ve never really been to NYC before so this is all going to be so new. I went once or twice in college with my friends. I knew right away how it just felt to fun being here. Like the opportunities are endless and there are all kinds of different people. And it’s a whole new fresh start and you’re on a whole new path. 

I’m still dating Kevin though. Long distance is tough from what I’ve hear but I think we can make it work. I mean, we’ve been dating since high school. Not being with him anymore would feel so weird. This whole change is big enough, at least dating him will be one link to my past. One piece of old comfort I guess. And I mean not just that, I love him of course.

Ya’ll have to try cold brew if you haven’t already. It’s a game changer. I think the cold of it helps keep me awake even more on top of the caffeine since we are so busy in the office lately. Coffee gives me that extra push!

Out with the old and in with the new! I’m getting rid of a bunch of decor in the apartment. Trends change so fast here in NYC and I just got to keep up! My roommate didn’t agree but..someone get her to stop living in 2010!

Found this old list I made in high school. I forced Andy to watch all of them with me! He did with a smile on his face though. He’s always been the best. I really miss him. It feels like forever since we last spoke.

Here’s the lawn at Penn State! Ugh it’s so beautiful here. I’m loving it. So different from Indiana but I knew I just had to get out of state. I’ve made so many new friends already :) People here are way more open minded and #woke. -Lizzi

Just found out my parents sold my childhood home (shown above). I’m way to busy to go and say goodbye anyways, so I guess it doesn’t matter. I remember spending summers outside on that lawn with my high school friends. Where has time gone? -Lizzi

Missing my old dog - Buddy :( NYC is cool and all, but it gets a little lonely. I’ve been so busy with work, I wish I had this guy to cuddle with. I miss his warm presence. No dogs are allowed in this building :( #missyoubuddy #dogsarethebesttherapists -Lizzi
