I’m almost done with this. very close, just needs a few more tweaks, proper formatting, and some decoration. But this will be my submission for the @tf2tarotdeck  as The 8 Of Wands. 

the setting is sort of inspired by upward ? (where you come out of the tunnel and theres always a sniper in that stupid little house )  just the background is more or less based of some photos of new mexico and I added sort of a hill so medic wasn’t just floating. it was originally gonna be a blu soldier too but he blended in to much with the sky lmao.

The (general) story goes that Thunderbird carried Whale up into the sky then let it go, and the waves created by Whale falling back into the sea resulted in huge waves wiping out costal villages. This is now understood by archeologists and anthropologists to be a story to explain earthquakes and the resulting tsunamis. By asking natives when they thought the story originated, scientists were able to discern that they were talking about a tsunami from 1700- the M9 earthquake from a mega thrust in the Cascadia subduction zone.

Fun fact: had it not been for these stories, the U.S Geological Survey wouldn't have commissioned a survey of the coast before building nuclear power plants. Now there aren't any such plants because of the tsunami threat from the Ring of Fire.
