I'm about a thousand years late to reply, but thanks for including me :D AND: my first purchase was an album by an unknown folk band from Israel busking in the streets of Lisbon years ago... Can't recall the name now, alas. They were really good, highly danceable.
bluesky had a "what album did you buy for the first time with your own money?" post going around and I thought I'd bring it over here
I had to buy this TWICE on cassette because i listened to the first cassette so much player ate the tape. which is why i do not understand the return of cassettes, lol, because it was always a matter of time before it was OVER.

“She wandered aimlessly through the castle’s many rooms, the swishing of her dress almost unheard above the background roar of the turbines of tedium: —humdrumhumdrumhumdrum—”

"Do you remember--"
"I have a...very good memory, thank you."
"Do you ever wonder what life would have been like if you'd said yes?" said Ridcully.
"No."
"I suppose we'd have settled down, had children, grandchildren, that sort of thing..."
Granny shrugged. It was the sort of thing romantic idiots said. But there was something in the air tonight...
"What about the fire?" she said.
"What fire?"
"Swept through our house just after we were married. Killed us both."
"What fire? I don't know anything about any fire?"
Granny turned around.
"Of course not! It didn't happen. But the point is, it might have happened. You can't say 'if this didn't happen then that would have happened' because you don't know everything that might have happened. You might think something'd be good, but for all you know it could have turned out horrible. You can't say 'if only I'd...' because you could be wishing for anything. The point is, you'll never know. You've gone past. So there's no use thinking about it. So I don't."

Some Extremely Good Lord Vetinari Facts That Aren't Really Plot Spoilers
-reads sheet music instead of listening to it
-irrational(?) hatered of mimes
-Has Leonardo Da Vinci locked up in the attic for public safety endangering ADHD crimes
-can juggle instinctively
-a graduated master assasin, only failed his stealth exam by "never showing up"
-plays long distance chess with his vampire bestie
-in a tense rivarly with the crossword setter for the local newspaper
-politically only honestly supported by the guilds of sex workers and beggars
-traumatized by caviar at an early age
#irritablefan's favourites#also seems to regularly buy dog biscuits and only eat the whites of eggs#-ferociously taking notes on character creation-

Lord Vetinari (as a representative of all Discworld characters, because honestly, best casting for a book series award)
Trinity (the Matrix one, although I’m a fan of The Holy too)
Jane Eyre (actual book character or as played by Ruth Wilson; the other adaptations are way off for me)
Niles (The Nanny)
Kim Wexler (And Jimmy. I mean. Come on. That almost counts as one.)
Private Helga Geerhart from ‘Allo ‘Allo.
Jacqueline from The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Sue White from Green Wing
Geraldine the vicar (Vicar of Dibley <3)
I was tagged (!) by @intramemaneo for which I thenque.
#tagged#i don't know who's still alive and active here so i won't be tagging#if you're reading this please feel tagged#I chose to interpret it freely somewhere between “favourite masterful creation” and “I just like them”#twas still difficult to chose just 9 of them#ohhhwell
