I have been extrenely busy with work, but im here to report that ages ago i did manage to send akeharu fanart your way on your straw page. It sucks ass cause i did it on the tiny canvas and on my phone...but it exist nontheless

It kinda irks me when people call Black Mask "Truekechi", because that's not really the case...? Not entirely, at least.

I mean yes, of course, Black Mask IS a part of Akechi's personality, I'm not denying that. The thing is, that it isn't Akechi's WHOLE personality. This kid just went through the biggest crashout of his life, his whole plan he's been meticulously working on for years failed, and the worst part is that it didn't even lead to what he was after, so he didn't even get the revenge he wanted. Of course he's unstable and edgy, I mean, who wouldn't be?

That is not to say that his anger and edginess aren't a part of his "true self"; I'm sure that his glee at taking out shadows is absolutely real, for example, but I believe that it comes from him just being angry in general- at Shido, at Maruki, and at himself. Akechi is rough around the edges, has a short temper and has a tendency to look at others from above, but the situation he's in boosts these parts of his personality as a sort of defense mechanism.

I think that his mementos conversations give a really good insight into this too; Perhaps it's due to my older age compared to the characters in-game, but a lot of Akechi's lines feel so... Forced on his side? He's the one to bring up that other Thieves probably don't want to have him on the team, or that they're unsettled by how he fights, but nobody even said anything about it in the first place...? Even other characters seem kinda done with his act, either that or they accept him being on the team due to their shared goals; Some are even quite nice and friendly, all things considered. This just feels like Akechi's self-loathing twisting itself into this kind of quips because he himself doesn't want to get too comfortable on the team; He's scared of growing closer to the other Thieves, so he tries to keep them at arm's length. He can't just tell them "I think I'm a horrible person" straight up (his pride wouldn't let him), so he has to make himself "unappealing" in other ways.

There's also the other side of these conversations, where you can see him just... Being a kid. He whines about being hungry, or thirsty, or his legs getting stiff in the car, he talks about mundane things with other Thieves like graduation or sports... He's just a teenager as much as his teammates are- it's just that the others weren't hired as assassins at 15 and didn't grow up obsessed with the plan to kill their father. His emotional development and maturation process have clearly been impacted, on top of everything else he had to deal with. So he may act "adult" and more mature than others at first glance (at least before he reveals Loki), but inside he is just as much (if not more, in some aspects) of a kid as the other Thieves are. This means that he is still at the age and mental development level where he is still figuring out himself, who he is, what path to follow etc. It also means that he is prone to being overly dramatic, emotionally extreme, and have poor emotional control- you know, teen stuff.

The key to it all becomes his ultimate persona, Hereward. We all know that Akechi has two personas, but he doesn't get two ultimate personas, he gets only one. I think that it's symbolic of his psyche slowly melding itself into one again. It's not that either one of his "sides" was truly fake or real; Both the Detective Prince and Black Mask ARE parts of the "real" Akechi- it's just that he has been systematically compartmentalizing his whole self into two for YEARS. The awakening of his ultimate persona is him starting the process of healing and allowing these two sides of him to mix and reconnect back into one.

I honestly think that, with enough time and the right environment, Akechi's most extreme traits would even themselves out, and he would stop being AS short-tempered, snarky, and blood-thirsty as he is in the game. He will never be the perfectly plesant Detective Prince, but he also won't be the angry, self-loathing and vengeful Black Mask. He will be something new, something different, a fusion of the two opposite ends of his personality spectrum. Only then he will live as his fully true self.

you might ship akeharu, but do you ship their PERSONAS together? hear me out on milady and loki...

Milady x Loki would imply Akira doesn't spend time with Haru although with the gameplay aspect ignored they definitely have a very cute aesthetic (as most things AkeHaru tend to)

I like to think their persona's are all able to see eachother even if they're not actively summoned (I know it doesn't make sense but let me cook)

Simply because I like the idea of Haru sitting next to Akechi in the monabus as she usually does just for milady (or potentially Lucy) to see Loki go from white with black stripes to bright pink with black stripes meanwhile you can pan down to Akechi with his regular deadpanned resting bitch face all while Haru remains unaware

You mentioned you didnt dislike MakoHaruGoro once. What do you think are their individual dinamics? Like, i feel like MakoGoro would be extemely "i d-definitely dont like you, you are my rival in this and i will defeat you.....*proceeds to agresively smooch*" (kinda like shuake but we dont talk about them), but i wonder how the rest of the "pairings" between them would would play out in your opinion

The p5 senior trio (name pending) might be one of my favorite poly ships in the franchise tbh

But yeah I think MakoGoro would have an extremely competitive rivalry less like shuake where it's them actively attempting to murder eachother every other weekend and more so something small like them keeping an imaginary scoreboard between them for really small and seemingly petty things like how much praise they've gotten from Sae and if we're to assume it's the full trio with Haru included I could see them finding a way to involve her in their competition since I imagine they'd (Makoto and Akechi) would get absolutely devastated at the idea of hurting haru's feelings even if it's accidental but whether or not Haru is aware of being put into her lovers' competitions is entirely up to whatever you think would be more entertaining

Off topic but I think the idea of them(Makoto and Akechi) trying to fluster eachother and miserably failing despite not wanting to admit they failed to be very cute!

I don't think Makoto or Akechi would have the faintest idea of how to flirt so it'd be like one of those awkward early highschool relationships until they pull two separate all nighters studying to try to impress eachother

idk if I understood the question (I'm blaming my lack of sleep) but any excuse to yap about MakoGoro and the senior trio is one I'll snack upon

I might do more posts talking about MakoGoro actually, I've been very MakoGoropilled lately and I've been wanting to look into them more and possibly even comm art for the trio sometime over the summer MakoHaruGoro movie date cuddled up on Sae's couch maybe even with matching pajamas, courtesy of Haru since she thought they were cute would be adorable me thinks !!

Tbh it reminded me of the idea of Haru and Akechi starting to date long before the Okumura palace and having to keep it a secret out of fear of Akechi's fan's harassing Haru since I'm sure you can imagine how parasocial a popular celebrities fans can get leading to an almost Romeo and Juliet moment of Akechi and Haru sneaking off to finally get some time by themselves late at night

Maybe they get caught one day by someone and it ends up with them getting blackmailed and in order to protect the only person to treat him like a person rather than a tool or an object he'd have to slowly start distancing himself until meeting her again after the Okumura palace where their flame would reignite

Imagine that Haru notices Akechi likes feathermam despite him trying to hide it, so she starts watching to understand him a bit better and gets hooked. Now she wont stop making references and Akechi has to try his hardest not to crack and respond to them in front of the thieves.

She also buys him a toy raygun cause it resembles the ones he uses in the metaverse, but it turn out it was the Proof of Justice raygun he wanted as a kid, and thats the reason Akechi first shows vulnerability in front of her and talks about his mother with her.

Haru unintentionally bringing out the lost child in Akechi is kinda fire actually

This whole ask makes me want to lock in and talk about my momkechi Headcanons and how it correlates to AkeHaru because I feel like there's so many similarities between Akechi's mom and Haru and how she'd treat him

From small things like accidentally making Akechi a meal his mother would make for him to things like calling him what she believes is just a cute nickname themed around his PT name which ends up just being something his mother used to call him which would end up bringing him to tears either privately with just Haru around where he could properly shatter like glass in front of her or around the thieves which she'd help him play off as just something getting in his eye

I highly sugest the fic "Faith for the second run" by senblades. Its not a AkeHaru fic, but due to some things that change the usual chain of events of P5, Haru and Akechi meet outside of the usual Thieves context, and before all the Okumura mess. And their relationship in it is very tender and beautiful imo (they are also both besties with Sumire in that)

Even outside of a ship dynamic anyone who can write Haru and Goro in a way that isn't just "grr you killed my father now I hate you grr" is in good terms in my eyes

Your posts kinda made me want to draw Akeharu fanart....hell maybe even Akeharukoto. Im still on the fence of asking you to follow the "blowing up a wallmart" part. Like, i want to, but i also dont want you to end up prisioner in the Wallmart dungeons for life lol

In return for more Akeharu or AkeHarukoto art to be added to this awful and evil world we've been forced into I promise to not obliterate any Walmart's in the foreseeable future HOWEVER in the case of a nuclear winter which causes a mad Max esque environment to form I will have to revert my promise and hunt down Walmarts

Or potentially I'll do a 180 and become the defender of Walmarts across the globe
