The inaugural @maxperformancetri #HarvestTri didn't disappoint this morning!!! :) The swim calm, the bike smooth & the run challenging, yet pretty. There were highs & lows during the race, but somehow landing on the podium (1st 35-39) was tops! It still doesn't feel real. What was my first duty as the a #FITRow Ambassador? Attending my first-ever Pilates class today at @clubpilates_assemblyrow! To say I was nervous was an understatement, but the owner/instructor Tammy was great and reassuring! :) My entire class was new which put me at ease. Let me tell you I used the reformer (pictured) & did some serious @bosu_fitness work! I was sweating, shaking & smiling. Comfort zones are meant to be pushed, popped & smashed! Adding strength training classes at @bostonptwellness with @simplestrengthphysio has shattered my comfort zone! I hid & avoided strength training for years, but 2017 was time to change that! I've been working on twice a week & our early morning crew motivates me to bring my best every time. Awesome time at @bostonsruntoremember with @pageminihanbuldini this morning! Half #52 & my 5th #BostonsRunToRemember Half. With extremely sore quads, today was all about fun, smiles, miles, high-fives & selfies! ;) This is one of my favorite races as it runs through my city, features an out and back where you see a ton of friends & a stretch of police from all over the state! It's inspiring seeing emergency personnel from all over the country taking part in the race! #ThrowbackThursday To Mile 14 of Monday's @bostonmarathon! Running this race is magical on many levels & one is the amount of familiar faces you see lining the streets. I'm blown away by the number of friends & family I was able to hug over those 26.2 miles. I want to thank them all individually, but need to start with these smiling faces from Mile 14. I'm beyond thankful that @tedysteam brought these people into my life. They knew I was hurting & let me cry on each of their shoulders, gave me a cooking blanket & a quick hit of champagne. Without their words of encouragement & love - on this day & always - I wouldn't be who I am today. Marathon #12 was a BEAST, but I used the love & motivation from each and every one of you to dig deep and FINISH! The tears flowed, but a dear stranger gave me meds during Mile 17 and my entire race was saved. Tomorrow! Tomorrow! Tomorrow! :) In 2014, I toed the @bostonmarathon starting line next to Tedy. It was special. It was surreal. Of course I had to selfie with him while we cruised through Mile 1... unfortunately it started a change reaction. Sorry Tedy. 😉 But tomorrow, I will get to that Start Line (marathon #12). Tedy once told me: "The Start Line is the Finish Line and the race is the party." I've taken those words to heart. I want to enjoy every moment of a race, soak in the sights/sounds, capture my feelings in pics, snap a selfie while running into/with a friend & generally party my butt off. Why? Because there are those that can't & someday I won't be able to. So for now I celebrate each mile. Tomorrow will be the Super Bowl of marathons/parties! I'm ready to make my #StrokeHeroes proud & celebrate all of those that have supported this journey. T-minus 2 days until #MarathonMonday! This pic was snapped after being reunited with my family after the 2013 race. Beyond thankful we all made it home safe and sound. When the bombs went off I was just across the finish line being pissed at my time and how the last few miles my race went. Then life changed. From that moment on I promised myself I would never regret a race or fret over a finish time because running (to me) is about more than that. #FlashbackFriday T-minus 3 days until the Super Bowl of marathons. I can't thank @tedysteam enough for bringing my BRF @pageminihanbuldini into my life. Very rarely do you find a training partner you are so in sync with.
