Gazafunds actually deals with this anxiety and makes a decision for you if you want. Their home page has a spotlighted fundraiser and the code consider things like how close the gfm is to finishing, when the most recent donation is, etc. So it's randomized to help as many people as possible.

There's also @helpgazachildren which if you donate, you can help multiple people at once since it's a whole mutual aid fund, or at least close to it. Hussam distributes money to people who need it when he's asked.

Malleus Facts Part 17: Fame

Malleus being very recognizable and very famous comes up often in the game. During Glorious Masquerade, Jamil and Riddle discuss how strange it is that no one seems to realizes he is THE Malleus Draconia, and Riddle says that he had been worried that they would draw too many crowds with Malleus in their midst.

Riddle concludes that maybe the citizens of Fleur City think that his horns are a part of his costume, and at the end of the event he is proven correct: Other students at the social had assumed the horns were fake, belatedly realizing that they actually met a celebrity. “He’s pretty intimidating, but WOW, can yo feel that power!?”

Epel comments that the crowds all part when Malleus begins to walk.

There is a similar pattern during Firelit Sky: Cater comments that no one has noticed THE famous Malleus Draconia, and Trey responds, “That headscarf probably helps. But I bet nobody expects one of the most powerful mages in the world to be gallivanting around sightseeing.”

During Halloween we learn what it is that happens when the general public realizes who Malleus is: he attempts to reason with tourists exhibiting poor behavior, to which they respond by touching him for a photo.

The visitors harass Malleus to the point that he hides in the Hall of Mirrors to escape, while they argue with Silver and demand to see him: “We paid a lot of money to come all the way out here. You ever heard of a little somethin’ called the price of fame?”

Twisted Wonderland Curse Word Compilation: Main Story

⚠️Language Warning!⚠️

Note: these localizations are not literal translations (“くそ” does not literally mean “to damn something,” for example), and are more so examples of what the characters might be saying if they were speaking American English ^^

#1: くそ (kuso)

An interjection used to express feelings like anger, frustration, disappointment.

Meaning: Dammit/damn it, damn, god damn it, shit, bloody hell, fucking hell, fuck

Ace is the #1 user of this word in the main story, repeating it at least 5 times from the prologue to Book 6.

Jamil repeats it at least four times from Books 4 to 6 and Deuce at least twice.

Cater,  Epel, Idia and General Lilia all use it at least once.

(Note: there seems to be a rumor that Epel uses very dirty language that is being hidden by his dialect, but I did not find this to be the case ^^ I collected all examples of Epel slipping into his natural dialect in the main story and it is mostly just normal words in an accent. He will use casual verb forms with his senpai, which is impolite in a similar way, but he is not using literal curse words.)

#2 ち (tch)

Not so much a word as it is an onomatopoeia, “tch” is still very impolite and is used to express frustration or disdain. It can be considered equivalent to clicking one’s tongue, tsking, or tutting.

Leona is the #1 user of this sound, repeating it at least 30 times from the prologue to Book 7.

General Lilia repeats it at least seven times (as of Book 7-4), Jack repeats it at least six times, three times for Floyd, three times for Ace and at least two times each for Azul, Idia and Jamil. It is also used at least one by Cater, Baur, Sebek and an unnamed person in Book 5.

#3 馬鹿 / バカ (baka)

Meaning: Idiot, moron, fool, dumb ass, dummy, stupid

Leona is the #1 user of this word in the main story, repeating it at least 8 times (at least five of which were in a kind of cute way, possibly to make it sound less harsh as it is when he is speaking to Ruggie).

Ace uses this word at least five times (three times to insult Deuce specifically).

Azul uses this word twice, as does Deuce, although one time is just him agreeing with Ace and insulting himself.

Jamil also uses the word twice, as does Lilia (one normal-Lilia, one General-Lilia).

Jack, Jade, Floyd, Epel, Vil, Idia and Sebek also use it at least once each.

#4 野郎 (yarou)

“Yarou” has a literal meaning of “guy” or “dude”, but can be used in a derogatory manner with a meaning of “asshole” or “jackass”.

It can be attached to an otherwise neutral noun to turn it into an insult, which Leona has a penchant for doing, depending on who he is talking about (e.g., snake-yarou for Jamil, octopus-yarou for Azul, etc.).

Leona uses this word a lot, repeating it at least 11 times in the main story.

Unnamed students, Azul, Deuce and soldiers in Book 7 also use it, while General Lilia will sometimes use it to refer to his own men.

#5 ちくしょう (chikushou)

An interjection used to express feelings like anger, frustration, disappointment 

Meaning: Dammit/damn it, damn, god damn it, shit, bloody hell, fucking hell, fuck

Another word used similarly to how “dammit” is used in American English (it is a little harsher than kuso, maybe), Epel uses it at least three times in the main story.

Deuce uses it twice, as do unnamed students at the school, Ace once and General Lilia once (as of 7-4).

#6 間抜け (manuke)

Meaning: fool, moron, blockhead, half-wit, idiot.

This word is used to insult someone for lacking awareness or being absent-minded.

Leona uses it at least twice in the main story, and it is also a part of the string of insults that Jamil delivers to Kalim in Book 4.

#7 アホ (aho)

This is a common insult similar to “idiot” or “stupid,” used at least once by Ace and once by Deuce (in a more slang way) in the main story.

He's mournfully earnest, voice wracked with the weight of several centuries of guilt. Silver cannot imagine what it must be like: to be awakened from the bliss of death you had thought you uncharitably earned, only to discover a portion of your soul had been unwillingly bound to a suit of armor along with those of several of your most trusted men. All the while your child stands before you, hundreds of years too late and very much alive.

"There is nothing that you have to be sorry for . . . Father." The name feels strange on his tongue, as if he's not adored those syllables like priceless gold ever since he could make sound.

The Knight glances at him, all creaking metal and acute devastation, as if to protest the unworthy gift of such a beloved title, as if he hadn't cradled Silver's bawling, pink-scrubbed frame fresh from the heat of birth as if he were handling the treasures of the gods and all their kingdoms. Whatever he sees on Silver's face halts him; perhaps he too understands it is not wise to spend what little time remains arguing pointless semantics.

Perhaps he's making peace with the fact that he'll see his son again soon.

That is, after all, what Silver understands the task at hand to be, the meaning behind the glyphs etched into the back of the ring clutched within his gloved palm.

Ending the cycle, preventing the taint of his family to spread across the land once more, saving Malleus-sama from the cruel whims of a man who claims to be his uncle, protecting the happy ending that his beloved father so dearly deserves.

Except, Henrik isn't the only Istovan left standing, is he?

That pop-up store they're doing for the master chef merch is a collab with art duo Gurihiru, and their twitter profile is here if you'd like to check out more of their stuff! They've done work for DC and Marvel comics, and also for some children's books.

They did one other twst collab in 2022 featuring all the boys in their dorm uniforms.

I can't get over this new style they're doing. My animation history side is coming out full swing!

The rough outline, round heads, and dry brush. These are all nods to famous disney artist, Mary Blair. She was a concept artist during the golden age of disney and influenced the look and feel of many of the films from Fantasia to Sleeping Beauty.

She's also known for her work on the look of "It's a small world" at Disneyland. During Walt's time, he was strict with where women could work in his company. Mary was able to break through that wall Walt had put up and add a bit of her soul into these films and projects.

Mary's work is drenched in vibrant colors, strong shapes and layers of lighting. Her drybrush technique and simple blocks of color are what made me connect these two.

There is obviously an influence here and I'm so pleased to see twst acknowledge her contribution to the company with this new merch.
