On second thought, judging from their canon interactions, it would be more like “I love you” “why do you always choose the worst possible times for confessions?”

So you know Leia and Han’s iconic ‘I love you’ ‘I know’ moment?

And then in the prequels Padme tells Anakin ‘I love you’ and Anakin responds with ‘Liar’. I feel like this is their version of that classic scene from the original trilogy.

So now I’m wondering… what would other couples (canon or not) version be?

Well as an obitine fangirl I just have to say my thoughts on this!

In canon, I think it would be “I love you” “don’t do this to yourself” because they both know they cannot be together and they love each other regardless and they don’t want the other person to suffer

But in a slightly better world, Satine told Obi-Wan many times that she loved him, and despite loving her very dearly, he could never say it back. He’d never been told before that he’s loved (I know that the trope of “character who hasn’t been told they’re loved cannot tell their lover ‘I love you’” is overused, but it’s fitting!!) so he finds other ways to show her that he loves her. Then after she survives Maul’s attack (I said in a better world, right?) the moment she wakes up Obi-Wan finally tells her he loves her, which of course she had known all along, but it’s still nice to hear it.

I love how Obi-Wan Kenobi is a symbol of Hope and a figure of Goodness in the universe of Star Wars, but he is also anxious. He has imposter syndrome. He is sarcastic and smug. He's overconfident. He's kind. He cares about people. He has depression.

He's this complicated person that's fucked up and who has always done the right thing simultaneously.
