#oh yeah I've thought about what rhythm games my OCs would enjoy a lot#Like Jade and Iri would main dance games - I see them as NotITG and/or PiU players vs DDR mains though#Jpeg would play IIDX & BMS & Risa would also pick up the games while staying with them#Both Io & their reploid AU would also play IIDX & BMS with Io ocassionally playing BMS on company time lol#Android Prisma would be a pop'n main (in refrence to how she started as a pop'n FC)#and Monster Hunter prisma I feel would main IIDX if she didn't live in fantasy-medieval times#a lot of IIDX players in my OCs though can you tell I'm not normal about IIDX lol#For any character a part of Doverhill (Jade Iri Jpeg Android Pris') I have them main a spoof version of those games instead#in the tags

#I think the anime / manga /light novel industries need to put 'MMO inspired fantasy isekai' to rest#when we're getting to the point of 'in another world as a vending machine' i think it's time to give the genre a break#like ig it's not the worst trope in fantasy but it's annoying bc it's been like this for years#just tons of isekai riding the coattails of SAO and Konosuba w/o doing much to actually build on the genre#I'll also add surface-level MMO inspiration (?) bc I think taking insp from that can be done creatively (see dungeon meshi)#but also a lot of the times it feels like its plopping in game mechanics w/o much world building#Sword art online and it's consequences I guess#in the tags

#IIDX brainrot time!#for something canon compliant - Nix has depression & is highly masking it + his relationship with his parents wasn't healthy#it's not a happy one + I had to piece these together via Remywiki + rough machine translations on Namuwiki & his arkadia page#but the fact after he was discharged from the military he was disowned & had to fend for himself says to me his home life was toxic#On the Depression side it's bc of him being apathetic / not taking life serious post-discharge. & even from the rough GTL stuff like feelin#'its easier to be disliked' + 'having forgotten the serious life' does not read as someone who isn't going through shit to me#For something more baseless & lighthearted - Eiri's artistic background comes out even though he's long left the art world#Think of it as he claims to hate doing art & then he's the first to comment if the composition or structure of an artwork is off#I mean he's got the heavy coffee drinker part nailed already lol this is honestly me self-projecting my own art experiences#in the tags
