Social Distancing
With social distancing in place, I have decided to write again.  It has been a long time because I have spent most of my time running to the gym, yoga lessons, swimming at the YMCA.  So it is time to make some productive use of my time since I am sitting alone.
More to come!

Letting Go!!!
Sounds so simple. How do I do it? This is what I think so far...step away from those thoughts that are saying to try harder, to keep pushing, that you have to have something or you will be miserable. I have been practicing my version of letting go by changing my thought pattern. When I start to think the thoughts that make me uncomfortable, I tell myself that I do not have to force anything. It seems to help me. Letting go involves surrendering to what is and then you can allow the what may be.

Birthday Thoughts
I had my 69th birthday this week. I cannot believe how fast the years have gone. I have done a lot of thinking about where I want the remaining years to take me.
First of all, it is important for me to enjoy my life. Staying healthy and fit is top on my list. Spending time with family and friends is a close second, only because I realize that without my health it is very hard to enjoy anything or…

Finding Humor
I am still on this serious kick.  I so admire my friend, Kim, who can find humor in the hardest of situations.  I was reading her blog the other day while waiting in my physical therapist’s waiting room and burst out laughing so loud that I looked up and every person there was staring at me!  “Seriously”, you have to check out her blog: Life in the Crass Lane here on Word Press.
We all have our…

Too Serious
I just read my friend Kim’s blog.  She made me laugh so hard!  I immediately felt terrible about my blog post yesterday.  I was so serious.  I need to lighten up.  Not just on my blog, but in general.  I can be the life of the party when I am around people, but it is hard for me to let go when I write.  So I decided to seriously give this some mindful attention.  That is in keeping with my…

Mindfulness
I have been thinking lately about what I want my writing to encompass.  My blog is my name and so I have been thinking that anything that occurs in my life is fair game!  I am a very organized person, so I have to have some kind of formula.  I began looking at what my purpose is in this lifetime.  I came up with the idea that if I am not mindful, no purpose no matter how important it is, could be…

Why rush?
Every time I find myself rushing, I stop and take a few deep breaths like I do in yoga.  I remind myself that I am ok and that everything will be fine.  So what if I am a few minutes late?  I usually have to sit and wait anyway!  But it is not just rushing to an appointment that I need to be aware of.  It is the rushing to move through my life.  I try to be a mindful person and become aware of…

Just call me Chris (Columbus, that is)!
Just call me Chris (Columbus, that is)!
During my whole adult life, I have been aware that I am an explorer.  I am hugely curious about people.  What motivates them to do what they do?  I got my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.  I was trying to find out the answers to my questions.  What I discovered is that I am really an explorer of my own motivations.  I have spent a fortune on schooling,…

When I Felt Radiant...
When I Felt Radiant…
This may seem odd to some women who had difficult pregnancies, but when I was pregnant, I felt the most beautiful and radiant in my entire life.  I strutted my stuff and I knew I was a magnificent creature.  I was carrying life!!! In my opinion, I was doing the most important job of all jobs.  I felt healthy and I had a radiant glow that everyone saw.   Men I didn’t even know came up to me and…

Warning: Don't go to the grocery store without makeup or doing your hair!
Warning: Don’t go to the grocery store without makeup or doing your hair!
I have been very sick for a week and decided that I really had to go to the grocery store for some much needed provisions.  I took a shower yesterday and was so tired that I crashed on the bed and went to sleep with my hair wet.  Needless to say, that when I woke up, my grey hair looked like it had been caught in an industrial wind turbine and then sprayed with super glue to hold it in all sorts…

Let the journey begin
Let the journey begin
This is my first blog post on WordPress.  It is my intention to have a format where I can write about any subject I choose.  I want to learn about myself as I do this and hopefully my followers will learn about me.  My ultimate goal is to have an outlet to express my feelings and thoughts.  My hope is that my followers will enjoy my process. So let the journey begin!

Love Thyself
As I learn to love myself, I realize that only then, will I be able to attract someone who truly loves me. I cannot attract anyone or anything that I don’t already believe and feel totally. So here is where judgement comes in...when I judge myself or others, I am blocking love. It is very simple. We experience different degrees of love or fear. When we are judging ourselves or others, we are experiencing fear. We are blocking love. When I start to feel judgement (fear) of myself or others, I need to stop myself and readjust my thinking to love. Must become a habit!

If you are to find someone else, you must find someone who cherishes you inside and out.
Absolutely unconditionally.
Completely and without a doubt.
You must find someone who loves you not only on the outside, but from your very core. Not only for the shape or your body or the touch of your skin, but for the magnificent beauty that exists within you.
You deserve to be treasured, for there is far more to you than what lies on the surface.

I so strongly believe that if I trust and believe in the power of the Universe to manifest my desires, I can co-create wonderful things in my life.  The other day I was thinking about manifesting but did not know what I should focus on.   So, I just said to the Universe, “Surprise me!”  I also said that when it was manifested that I would know it because I would feel like a wonderful gift had been bestowed upon me.  I asked and then let it go.  A few days later, I had to meet with my new personal trainer at my gym.  I was sad because my previous trainer had to move out of state and I loved working with her.  To my delighted surprise the young man she left me with has worked with deaf clients and knows and uses ASL (American Sign Language)!!!  So, the Universe provided me with a wonderful surprise gift!!!  I completely surrendered to the whim of the Universe and all worked out great.
